I'm wondering the same thing. I was thinking of not having a formal cocktail hour and just telling my guests to go to the lobby bar for cocktails and perhaps have the steel drum band play an extra hour on the terrace outside the lobby bar. This would be way cheaper than paying a per hour and per guest fee for drinks and food during the cocktail hour.

Here is my Bridesmaid dress from Alfred Angelo. My maid of honor will be wearing the one shoulder strap and my other 4 bridesmaids will be wearing it strapless. My MOH who is a little short so this will need hemmed lol.

Thanks for the info. Just e-mailed them about ordering 75 of the 200ml bottles for next year. I hope they can just deliver to the resort a few days before the wedding so I can put the tags on the bottles.

Our guests are paying $880 for 4 nights at a 5-star resort, not including airfare which will be $300-$400 per person.

We both love JAMAICA and could not grasp the thought of spending thousands of dollars for a wedding ceremony and reception that only lasts a few hours. Instead, we are making an entire weekend and vacation out of it, not only for us, but for our guests. I want them to leave saying "that was the best wedding EVER!"

I am having my bridal shower the weekend before the wedding and doing the bachelorette party that same night since most people will be in town together that day!

We are just doing a place cards and no seating chart. It is my hope that not many people will be sitting and if they do, it's only to eat for a few minutes. I want everyone on the dance floor for as much time as possible! : )

We are just doing a small registry for the bridal shower but probably nothing else. We are also going to encourage guests to not bring gifts along.

I'm not tipping our WC unless she decides to bend over backwards when we arrive and on our wedding day. So far, she has been very unresponsive and I am already going to pay the resort $400 to use her...which I don't even understand because I have been doing everything myself.

We are getting married in Montego Bay but going to Negril for our "mini-moon." We are staying at Couples but they charge A LOT to have photographers come on the property so we are instead going to the lighthouse in Negril and another beach/cliff area to do our TTD session.

As far as the picture, that is the courtyard type room located betwen the Grand and the Suites. I think it is connected to both. It is a completed covered room with a roof and it has a lot of windows so it would be another option if it rained. I personally liked the lobby staircase as a backup in case it rained.

Leah - yes there is an extra charge to have it right on the beach which I think is an extra 20% over what they charge for renting out Port Maria....still deciding on this! I think I'm going to e-mail Janielle and ask her what nights the beach party is at the Grand and at the Suites because there is no sense paying for a welcome party if there already is a party the guests can go to. Shannon - I didn't find a catamaran cruise yet because I'm still waiting to hear back from my travel agent to figure out which resort my guests are staying at. She is trying to get the day pass fee waved but it's been an adventure so far lol. If she can't get it waived, I will probably just have them stay at the Grand as originally planned. I think we maybe should start our own thread just so we know who is doing what and at what time lol. I don't want to step on anyone's toes and I want to make sure we all have the wedding of our dreams : ) Leah - do you have facebook? Maybe it would be easier if we started a group on there?
