I love the Starfish idea too!! Also, is anyone using Godfrey for flowers/decorations? I e-mailed him yesterday and I'm pretty sure he called me at least 10 times within a 5 hour period and would not leave me alone. It was quite annoying seeing as how my wedding is almost a year away. He also told me he has to order all of his flowers from overseas which surprised me seeing as how Jamaica is tropical and you'd think they'd have plenty of flowers on the island?? Also, the prices he quoted me for bouquets and centerpieces really didn't seem that much cheaper than the hotel's prices through Tai Floral. Any input is greatly appreciated!

I agree - I think it's better to at least have a registry than to not have one, especially for those who can't attend the wedding. I think we are going to do the honeymood fund because although Jamaica is great, I want my true honeymoon to be in Tahiti in an overwater bungalow! LOL

I believe ours will be about $20,000-22,000 including our week long stay in an oceanfront room. Luckily, I have a year to save but it's really hard because I love to shop but I just have to stop and ask myself - do I really need it! Only buy it if it's something you can wear now AND on the trip/honeymoon LOL.

Thanks for sharing that e-mail. I can't believe they charge for outside vendors when they aren't attending the wedding or using the facility! Does anyone happen to know if a catamaran is included with your stay at the Grand? The Iberostar website says it is included on the sports and activities page but I haven't heard any other brides discuss this so I'm just curious. If it's not included, does anyone have any recommendations on renting out a catamaran? I want to offer my guests the opportunity to do a sunset/booze cruise on a catamaran and maybe go snorkeling or to margaritaville.

Did anyone get a good group rate for the hotel for their guests? Our wedding is in June 2012 and the lowest quote we could get was $960 for 4 nights and that doesn't include airfare. This just seems really high to me, especially since we are booking way far in advance. I know the rate is going to drop at some point and my TA said she could renegotiate but I am just nervous. I don't want my guests paying that much!

Unfortunately, I think the free wedding package just started a few weeks ago. I booked my date in mid-April after I found the flyer for it on a website and she said I could do it for a new booking.

I think it's best to send them a follow up e-mail because I e-mailed them like 2 weeks ago and never heard back so I sent a follow-up and got a response within a day.
