I just got back from our site visit to Jamaica and although you don't absolutely need one, I'm glad I brought one with me. I saw a few other people who had brought one also and it was nice just to float around on it once in a while. They even stored it at night for me. I would like to find them for less than $2 each if possible.

Maybe I just had a bad experience(es) but I've been to 3 David's Bridals in PA and they just have horrible customer service. I made an appointment at the one and the girl didn't even show up for my appointment so another girl was helping me and had no idea what she was doing. She couldn't even find clips for the dress because the one I tried on was huge. When I finally decided to order it, she didn't even take my measurements, she just asked what size I wanted. Needless to say, the one I ordered is wayy to big and they won't let me exchange it since it's past 90 days which makes no sense because it took so many weeks to actually receive it so that 90 days should be from the date you receive it, not the date you order it. I tried talking to two other locations and they were unhelpful and rude as well. I even asked if I could exchange it for bridesmaids dresses and they wouldn't let me because they only exchange bridal for bridal. They all have their own return policies, which is normally all sales final so just be sure it is the dress you want and the correct size when you order it. Best of luck : )

It's actually from David's Bridal lol. After dealing with them, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone but I really do love the uniqueness of this dress.

omg I was seriously cracking up over this post...it is sooo true though! I am not even close to my wedding date and I feel like we will be spending a fortune. They also need to realize that we are BRINGING guests to THEIR resort...so it almost seems as if they should pay us or the wedding should be free lol. Without us getting married, they wouldn't have that business!!! I think we should start our own resort in Jamaica dedicated to offering affordable weddings!!!!! Thanks eholt...We could consider having our guests pay for it in the group rate we got but I would rather try to get it waived altogether since we are going to be spending enough money on the wedding and reception alone at the Grand. I am going to try to negotiate to get it waived because my guests won't be using any of the facilities we won't already be paying for since they are only coming over for the wedding activities. How many guests did you have and did try to negotiate the $50 fee?

I actually tried going that route, however, my date is unavailable at the other properties so I really don't have a choice at this point : ( The Grand wants to charge $50 to anyone not staying there just to attend the wedding. I'm in a dilemma - trying to decide whether or not to have my guests stay at the Suites or the Grand. Our wedding will be at the Grand but we did a site visit at the Suites and thought it had a more "fun" and party type atmosphere than the Grand, plus my guests could stay longer at the Suites for what they would pay to stay at the Grand for only a few nights. Any input is greatly appreciated : )

Hey Ladies! We are heading to the Grand in a few days for our site visit and will be meeting with Janielle. Is there anything you would like me to discuss with her? I'm thinking about taking a voice recorder just so I have all the answers verbally lol. I am definitely asking about the group incentives because apparently I'm not guaranteed a cocktail party or welcome party if I have 25+ rooms anymore...even though my TA said I was. They didn't put anything except that every 22nd passenger is free in our group contract. If anyone needs me to ask her anything or get them anything while I'm there, let me know! Our rate is $880 per person for 4 nights...i think we lucked out with this rate because funjet had the same rate and my TA matches prices.

Hey girls, I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure I am getting a free room for every 25 rooms booked or for every 22nd passenger, free cocktail hour for 25 + rooms, and free welcome party for 25 + rooms at the Grand. I told my TA about the other girl who posted on here about getting those freebies and she worked with the resort and apparently got these incentives for my group also. I'll have to double check with her but I'm almost certain that it's possible. Susan

Ladies, I have spent the past 6 hours searching for the best deals on items to put in my OOT bags and here is what I found: Bath & Body Works: 5 for $5 Travel Sized Anti-Bacterial Gels in "Caribbean Escape" and Island Nectar I got 40 of them so they were $1 a piece and they also have a free shipping promo if you use promo code "FALL 25" I also found the best deal for first-aid kits on ebay and I plan on putting our monogram on the case and added some more items...they worked out to be about 70 cents each. I agree. I e-mailed them months ago and the response was that Jodi-Ann Miller would assist me and I have yet to hear from them! I am e-mailing the WC at the Grand and I'm going to inform my travel agent. I know I have a while to go but they really need to be more accommodating.

I am using the free wedding package at the grand and here are answers received from the grand (Janielle) about costs. I do plan on paying the $20 per person for the ceremony because that was on the original price list from the grand. HI! Got this from your wedding coordinator: I have a few questions regarding my June 9th, 2012 wedding. 1. How big is the wedding cake included in the free wedding package? If it is small, how much would it cost for a larger cake for 50 people? We will provide a cake for all 50 persons. 2. I want to bring an outside vendor to drop off flowers. Would a vendor fee apply if they are only dropping off? As long as they come to the lobby give the flowers to me then no fee applies however they will need to set anything up at all then a cost of US$ 250 will apply. 3. What is the FREE room upgrade for the wedding couple included in the free wedding package? If we book an oceanview room, will we be upgraded to oceanfront? If we book a standard room, will we be upgraded to oceanview or oceanfront? Please note upgrades are based upon availability. But as you said from standard to Ocean View and from Ocean View to Ocean Front. 4. The free wedding package says it includes a champagne toast. Is this only for the bride and groom? If so, how much would it be extra per person for the toast? No the Champagne Toast is for everyone at the ceremony. 5. Do you have decorations available to use for the reception for tables other than the head wedding table such as vases and candles? Also, do you have paper lanterns, LED lights and boxes for table cards or do we need to bring these items ourselves? Our local florist tai flora will provide all that for you if you need to get in touch with them let me know so I can send you contact info. 6. Since I am using the free wedding package, what would it cost for the decorating of a huppa and the decorating of the reception venue since that's not included in the free wedding package? The huppa is not a part of the package and cost US$250 and is draped in white if you need it to be decorated then the florist will provide any additional that you will need. 7. The cost for a 3 hour private reception is $1,750. How much would it be if we wanted to rent it out for an extra hour to make it 6:30 - 10:30 PM? It would be a cost of US$ 250 and the time would be form 7:00pm to 11:00pm. 8. My fiance and I were planning to do a site visit in September to see the resort and possibly visit with you if you are available. Would we have to pay the $100 to come on the property if we stay at a different resort or will you waive this fee since we are having our wedding there? Once it will be a regular site visit then sure I will have them waive the fee. Just let me know when so I can advise the relevant depts..
