  1. Hello all,

I am brand new to wedding planning, and in need of some advice.

I have always known that I wanted a wedding in Riviera Maya (as does he, thankfully!) but am still debating between Tulum and Playa Del Carmen.

For wedding purposes, I am absolutely in LOVE with La Zebra in Tulum- a dream location. My hesitation lies in that the crew I am bringing down with me, 30-40 people, are quite the partiers (not in the wild sense, but in the longevity sense- dont worry, no spring breaker types here!....But, that being said I can't just stop the party at 11pm with this bunch).

It doesn't appear as if Tulum would have any places for an after-wedding party; am I wrong about this? If this is the case, I am leaning towards Playa, such that we can keep the party going afterwards. Granted, I would still absolutely enjoy a Playa wedding, but I am REALLY in love with Tulum and seeking ideas as per how I can keep my lively family and fiance happy for a few extra hours, post wedding :)

Thanks in advance for your help!

I am afraid to say that all Tulum closes early, restaurants and bars, at 11pm everything is dead, also if you want to get a beer you have to loo for it at the town, not in the turistic area, why don't you start early? well I am sure you already exored this option, Cheers!!! and good luck with your planning!

  2. @@calgarybride2015 Here in the tropics, there are a bunch of spiders, thanks God they moved when people arrives and settle, but many spiders don't, this is your lucky day, tarantulas run away from humans, so If you see one, It is because you are in the jungle, although you may see one in a resort, It will be 1 out of 1000 chances

I love the nature and go into jungle, I work in many resorts and also stay a lot in them, in 5 years I have never see one in a resort

    happy planning!!

  4. After the 4 years I have been working in the area, Resorts' WC are very busy, they barely sit down in their computers for days, weddings never stops and there are more good review than bad, at the end, every business has a portage of people that will ever going to be please, so the point ism I believe the, WC, do a good job, they are just under pressure with some many things to do and some of them do more than just one wedding in one day, take into consideration! just be patience I know answering in a print way helps more and give you a state of calm :)

I want to hare some weddings, maybe my favourites I did and love from tis beautiful resort!

For those whoa re getting married in Beach Palace, foist, I love the food, It is a great taste! second, love the idea of having a wedding on the top of a building, why? well you can see the whole ocean plus the lagoon in front of the  ocean, the light is great in the afternoon! and for those looking for a beach ceremony, the ocean color is just perfect blue!

If you want to take a look at some of my post about this resort, you will find out why I love it!

  6. I was told resort follow a boring or outdated rule of getting shoot, some of them where administrative personnel or had other work than a photographer, make sure your photographer has enough experience as a main photographer if you go for them.

If you want a different vision of a real artist, look for an artist, I do my photography and I edit them, I know how will they look like at the end.

    Happy planning!!!

  7. I'm Liane and am in the very beginning stages of my wedding planning. I am narrowed down to three resorts - Valentin Imperial Maya, The Royal Playa del Carmen, and Excellence...

Anyone have any feedback that may be helpful?

You may want to consider the size of the resort, the biggest the less you find your friends during the other days than the wedding, also if it is big check how many speciality and buffet restaurants, disco or not disco, for kids games hall, cafe shops, and how many bard in the pools they have, I am sure so many will love it, I stayed in one where there where no waitress around in the pool, so all inclusive but had to walk for my beverages and was not close! lastly, check that the hotel has the 24hrs room service included, if It is fuel service or limited during the night ;)

    Happy planning!

  8. the make up on pictures will be different all the time depending on camera, color correction, tone curves adjustments because all depends on photographer settings, if not a professional photographer then it will be worst due to the inaccurate process of a camera using automatic picture.

it is better girls if you check reviews then contact the make up artists, you will know for sure if the artist is good and when you talk to them will realize about their passion for what they do, many people fake their websites with just pretty shoots, be careful, also a big company is exactly the oposite of what an artist look for, personalised attention, you can easily find out when they hire or outsourcing others to perform their own job

It is my own opinion and does not rule the market

    Happy planning!

  9. I recommend you to do your ceremony 3 hours before sunset, this way you will have great colours in the pictures, as well as different shape of light for the family session and Bride and Groom session as well, more important, enough time in case something delays and It happens often.

Sunset is on land side, so It is likely hard to have a great one during your ceremony, I would secure the bride and Groom shoots with a great sunset than a ceremony which is hard to do

    Good luck on your planning!

  10. @@Sophiaone95 I have been here in Playa del Carmen for 5 years, there are more kidnaping in Phoenix than in Mexico, It is unsafe in more neighbour hoods in New York that in Mexico, in the 5 years I have never seen anything that you wrote on your post.

I have done around 450 or more weddings and I do not know a single person having such problems while they are here.

You and your family can come Mexico because It is safe.

Only the border with USA is dangerous, but this is another story.

    Happy planning!!!
