  1. Trying to pick a resort and have narrowed it down to a few...but don't know if there is a benefit to being in one city vs another. Thoughts? I have to have a Catholic ceremony so it has to be at one of the properties that has a Catholic Chapel on site.

Here is what I have narrowed it down to...

-Gran Caribe Real -> I LOVE their chapel, but the hotel seems run down, the rooms ugly and the place seems packed with kids.

-Moon Palace -> like the chapel, seems a bit overpriced but that's the only downside right now

    Not in Cancun...

-Grand Palladium (Riviera Maya) - love the historic chapel, but the rooms seem really ugly and dated

-Dreams Tulum - really like this property from the small amount I can find about it but it's pretty far from the Cancun airport - is it worth it?

-Iberostar Paraiso (Playa) - reviews say it is loud and seems packed, rooms are ok

    Would love any advice!

Gran Caribe Real.- is one of the cheapest of your options, food is not the best, rooms are old and is packed on April, May June, July, November and December. but good option for does in a tight budget

Moon Palace.- is certainly far but you get ALL you need in the same place, food is one of the best of all resorts I know, beach is ugly and It is huge, for some this is minus  because your guest will stay in different hotels inside and may never found each other to get together before and after wedding

Dreams Tulum, acceptable food, acceptable room great beach to swim and look as well as to step on, so fine, like 3-4 restaurants

Iberostar (Paraiso Lindo, del Mar and Grand).- Good Food, Good Room, Packed in busy months, great beach and good sand to step on, huge! but you get ALL inside, It is far from a near city like Playa (25 mins) like 8-9 restaurants plus disco

Grand Palladium is like Gran Caribe but huge got ALL inside and It is far from Playa

  2. @@ASwedding I know they are  very busy, once I saw 15 weddings in one day, obviously busy season, but It is coming April and May, I am not sure exactly if this is part of the problem but did you tried to do a conference call to talk about the subject? It may be better than waiting a long time and not get the right answer or having more questions than before.

    Cheers!

  3. beach could be less hot than gazebos, exactly because of the wind, but depending also where gazebo is located, from April until august heat and humidity are at maximum, if the ceremony is on the beach, It depends on the time and location also to determine if it will be hot or less hot, this is why I asked, there are some beach locations at certain time that buildings cast shadow on the venue and will be the less hot possible

in any case, photography and video will be affected this is why I also asked

  4. I wanted to give you a heads up.

I got an email of a Bride I shot her wedding at Dreams Riviera Maya, the local company lost her wedding video (yes the one that charges the crazy outside vendor fee) according to her they tried to recover sending the memory card to several locations in Mexico.

This in house company should had sent the memory card to the manufacturer, they know better the memory card parts.

This is a best practice and the one I use in my photography, sadly many if not all no not care.

1.- I bought a camera that records twice the shot at the moment I take it, It means the second mack up is immediately created on the fly.

2.- First thing after the wedding I back up the pictures in 3 media storage devices, 1 available to work any time in my desk, 2nd one inside my safety box attached to the floor and wall, 3rd offsite.

3.- I do myself, the first 2 media storage devices records twice and has 5 hard drives inside each one.

I wish nothing but the best and I really hope you all brides out there care about this and make sure the photographer does not say I do back up but actually do.

  5. Hi Everyone,

I'm about to book Blue venado for my wedding in August, and I'm super nervous about it. I'm from the States and my fiance is from Spain so deciding where to have the wedding has been interesting to say the least. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations as to transportation companies get the guest from the hotel into blue venado and back. My parents are traveling to Playa in March to do a site visit and meet in person with whatever vendors we use,  but the only one I haven't been able to find good suggestions for is Transportation. If anyone could PM me prices that would be much appreciated.

    Thanks for the help!

I have seen some clients using this company

    good luck!

  6. Ramon is certainly an efficient Coordinator/Planner I have had the pleasure to work several times with him and all my brides are always pleased with his work, also I can say I am pleased working with him, some other P/C does not care art all about out side vendors, besides Now Sapphire that vendor very very nice, I love this place! I jus finish a wedding here and I will post to help some brides to organise and plan their day!

    Best!

  7. @@IvanLuckiePhotography thank you for the advice! A 45 minute set from a live band is out of our budget. Our DJ package is 4 hours and our reception is only 3 - so I think we will just ask him to play music but not announce/speak/etc... hope it works ok =/

so then just plug your iphone/ipod/ipad in their system, It should not cost you a cent :) create a playlist and will be more than enough!

    Cheers!!
