Dreams Punta Cana Brides

Thank you all so much for responding, you definitely helped to put my mind at ease. I did confirm a few months ago that Dreams decided not to change the policy and that outside vendors are still allowed. I am using Michael Weiler as well, I booked him a few months ago. All of the photos that I have seen of his are gorgeous! I was aware that we have to pay the day pass fee for him to come the day of the wedding but I wanted to meet with him a day or two before just to discuss what we want done. I didn't know if I would have to pay a fee for him to come to the resort that day or if we would have to go off the resort to meet with him. I guess I can just email Michael and ask him. I'm sure he has done it enough to know! LOL. Again thank you ladies! -

*CALLING ALL DREAMS PUNTA CANA BRIDES-I'M FREAKING OUT!* OK so it's been a while since I have posted mainly because I'm so stressed out with the wedding I don't have the time or energy to write. My wedding is November 4, 2011 at Dreams Punta Cana. We originally invited 30 people and only 8 are coming so far. We are still waiting on responses from 4 couples but even if they all come we will only have a total of 16 people (18 including my fiance & I). That being said we are trying to decide if we will do the 3 hour reception or just go with the basic ceremony/cake/champagne toast then go to a dinner at one of the restaurants then just head to the club at the resort. Has anybody or is anybody planning not to have a reception? For those of you using/used an outside photographer, were they able to come to the resort before the wedding day to meet w/you or did they have to pay a fee to come onto the resort? Also for those of you who have already gotten married there, how was your experience with your wedding coordinator & how did the wedding flow? Was it stressful? I keep seeing bad reviews online, not only of weddings but just of regular vacations. I'm really starting to worry about choosing this resort. On top of that all of my guests are seeing the bad reviews as well. Their main concerns are the AC issue & the food/digestive problems. For those of you who have been to Dreams before or have already been married there, how true are these reviews? Is it just a few incidents or did you experience the same problems? Thanks in advance for your help! -

OK Ladies I need your help...I'm sure if I took the time I would be able to find answers to all of my questions in the boards but unfortunately I can't seem to find them. Anyway, here is my dilemma. We are getting married on 11/4/11 at Dreams PC. As of right now we will only be having 8 guests. At most we will have 20 but I really don't see that happening. We are having a large AHR so it's not a big deal. We originally were planning on having approx. 20-30 guests and were going to go with the Ultimate Wedding Package. Now that it's looking like our guest list is shrinking considerably we are thinking about just going with the complimentary Wedding in Paradise Package. That being said, has anyone had or is going to have just a dinner with their guests at one of the restaurants after the ceremony instead of going w/one of the Dinner reception packages? If you have done one or looked into it, do you know if you can still have it in a private area of the restaurant or on the terrace? If so, do you know if there is a fee for this? Also, I have one more question. For any of you that have or will be using Dreams Photography/Videography do you know what the fee would be just for the 30 minute video of the ceremony? I can't seem to find individual fees on the website, only packages. Thanks for your help! -

Wow I'm surprised they did that. We wanted to pay ahead of time but were told we could not. My WC, Jennifer Castro, told me that she could not even give a balance due over the $500 deposit until we finalize all of our plans once we get there. We were not even given an option to make payments toward it. We also were told that we had to pay in cash or travelers checks. They told us that they do not accept credit cards. -

Thanks ladies for responding. We are planning on going with the Ultimate wedding package that includes a 30 minute video n 50 photos. My only concern is in the package listing it says ceremony only. I'm wondering if that means they will just take 50 pics of the 15 min ceremony. We do want some pics after with our family n stuff n I'm worrying about getting hit with an additional fee for that. If anyone has any experience about all of this I would love to hear from you. Also, for u ladies using an off site photographer would u mind sharing pricing info n what it includes? If u don't want to post it on the forum feel free to PM me. Thanks so much! -

Hi everyone! I'm new to the site and am loving it. My fiance and I will be getting married at Dreams Punta Cana on November 4, 2011. I have been trying to read as much as I can but there is so much info to get through I may need to quit my day job to read it all! I've read some of the stuff about the Photographer issues. We are planning on using the Dreams photography staff for our pics. Has anyone used them? -

Hi there my fiance and I will be using WeDo to complete all of our documentation. You pretty much just send them all of the paperwork & they take care of the translations & everything. They will even translate your marriage certificate to English after if you want. Their website is: www.wedo.com. Hope this helps! Melissa -
