Has anyone used or booked a makeup artist OTHER than Rashel ??? She was already booked for mine.. I've recd a quote from Pretty Faces (rashel recommended) but she quoted me $300 for airbrush, lashes and travel. Add $100 for hair. Does this seem really expensive to anyone else?? The resort was only going to be around $200 for hair AND makeup. Not sure what to do

I just met with Debbie from Enchanted memories last week.. She showed me a bouquet she was sending out that dat and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!! She just sent me a pic of the flowers we discussed held in her hand to see if i like it.. and im not feeling it so looking for some other ideas and inspiration! I was going to go with mango callas, white flat orchids and yellow orchisd... but i dont like the look of the yellow orchids! so now thinking of maybe just a mango calla lilly bouquet

hi vlivins, What travel company did u receive these quotes from???? We're flying out of toronto and our price was no one near that! Prices for next year arent even out yet... they wont be out until sometime in June/July. From what i've looked at... the only other resort that seems comparable to the GPLH is the Iberostar

Hey JamaicaSukie, Did you find another makeup artist to use???? I e-mailed Rashel and she's booked for my date as well. She did recommend queen bee and pretty faces .. both offer airbrushing. Queen bee makeup looks too light for me though... i want to be completely done up like a barbie!!! I might email pretty faces for a quote/availability.. her portfolio seems to be a little closer to Rashel's makeup style.

Hey everyone.. Instead of hiring the DJ and MC thru the resort... we've decided to buy an ipod dock and just use that during the reception. If anyone else was looking in purchasing these... I found a really good..and SMALL.. one for a decent price. I actually picked up a Sony docking station from Walmart for $150. The guy at Walmart said its the best sound quality they carried.. after readibng reviews online tho it does seem that there are better ones available... however not with the portability features and size of this one. It has an aux input for microphone/ other mp3 players.. the actual connector piece rotates so u can put an ipod or ipad horizontally for videos/pictures. Also.. the best feature for a DW ... built in rechargable battery! lasts up to 6 hours so u can rock out on the beach or wherever you want! She did reccomend I check out pretty faces or queen bee.... i liked pretty faces portfolio better.. from what was available. so i think i will send her an email and see. Rashel's work is unbelievable and the reviews are amazingly positive. You will definitely be a beautiful bride on your big day!

Has anyone used Queen Bee hair/makeup services??? www.salonnegril.com ??? I tried booking Rashel but because I've left it so late she's already booked up... and she recommended I check out Queen Bee to see if Ilike their work. The website is very simple and doesnt have a huge portfolio to look at. Any recommendations or feedback ??

I'm also looking into booking someone offsite for hair/makeup. At this point i'm pretty sure its just for me... I was going to use the resort spa... but after mixed reviews and considering the cost... i figure it might be worth looking into someone mobile that can travel to the resort. Any recommendations?? or pictures?? thanks!

I randomly came across this feed while searching for something else.. i dont even remember what... but after reading through I started thinking about getting the real touch flowers instead of a real bouquet at the resort... I emailed enchanting memories on a whim... i really didnt think theyd be able to do a bouquet with only 3 weeks until my wedding.. but they are SO awesome and nice... and said she would definitely squeeze me in and now i am meeting with her on Monday afternoon to look at the flowers and come up with a plan. I sent her a few pictures and when she called she asked for all my details and gave me an idea of what she is thinking based on my dress style, etc... I'm veryyyy excited for my appointment on monday !!! Will definitely post pictures when i order and pick up my bouquet!

Hey Ryryks5, My wedding coordinator is Nekeisha ... and I'm having the same experience as you. We're about 3 weeks out from our wedding.. and so far the only thing booked is the ceremony at the gazebo and the Blue lagoon for dinner. Nothing else has been figured out or planned. I emailed her a few days ago to book the steel drum band for the ceremony hour ... but no response yet. I also asked her about menu... and I got the same generic response. I think all they do is send out generic emails in response to our questions. I've yet to figure out what the seating arrangements will be for dinner... book the zurielemaka show... my hair and makeup appointment with the spa... and get the form for our ceremony music selections (i only know about this form from this forum!)... Thank goodness for this forum because I would not have a clue about anything if not for everyone on here!!! Another user sent me the layout for the blue lagoon... so im working on our tables now.. We're still trying to figure out the menu too.. but i think were going with Reggatoni... sounds like the best all around selection of food for each course! and the feedback from everyone on here is making me excited about it! You would think that being 3 weeks away... they would send me all the forms and let me know what I need to do and be a BIT more helpful. Im a very easy going person and we're not expecting the world... but i cant make up my programs or seating chart until I have more information from the resort... If its taking her this long to get back to me about booking the steel drum band... i'm nervous that we wont have time to plan and book everything else we want.

Wondering if anyone can help with the wording for the programs... not having any luck finding a forum... I wanted to include a section for: wedding party ceremony (very basic schedule.. processional, signing of documents, etc..) reception thank you message I have a basic outline.. just wasnt sure if there is a certain order to list the wedding party? just looking for some ideas to tweak and finalize mine!

I'm just going through the menu choices for our dinner... and have a few questions if someone/anyone can help! I think we're going with the Italian restaurant menu ... thinking of this menu: salad: bacon wrapped scallops (hoping they can minus the bacon on 3 plates as 3 of us are veggies!!) app: ravioli in cream sauce soup: potato and leek main 1: some beef thing main 2: some fish thing dessert: tiramisu Has anyone had to request special instructions for a plate or two.. or 3?? We have 3 vegetarians (myself included) and I'm not sure how accommodating they will be..???? Has anyone tried to italian restaurant at all ??? or have any other recommendations for dinner ???

Not sure if this thread is still active... but i was looking for some help on donations in lieu of a favor. I've been looking at actual favors online... and nothing is calling my name. Not to mention I only have 3 weeks for ordering/delivery... and then the packing and travelling with them... such a hassle for a random thing that will probably end up in the garbage or tucked in some cabinet never to be seen again. I've always thought a donation is a much better use of money... so now im seriously considering the option. I like the simplicity of a place card saying "in lieu of a traditional favor we have made a donation to _____" etc etc. Very simple ,thoughtful, and meaningful. I just cant decide where to donate to. I'm thinking something local and smaller ... so it might actually make a small difference and reach those in need. I have a huge passion for animals.. so was thinking maybe a local humane society ...orrr i dont know! I was originally thinking a more global charity like ontario breast cancer society or heart and stroke or world vision or WWF ... but some people at work said not to waste my money on those charities because it will never reach anyone in need. Not sure what to do... any advice???

Sorry I dont think u can get around the vendor fee..unless u book them as part of your group. im booking hair and makepu thru resort spa ... i couldnt justify the extra cost and hassle of using outside vendors. Maybe try adding them to your group list.. maybe they can just pay for a "day pass" instead of the ridiculous vendor fee!!!

Anyone look into planning any group excursions?? I really want to put together a welcome pamphlet for our guests...with some excursion info and activities and interesting facs about Jamaica. Not doing OOT bags though ... i've talked to a lot of people who've attended DW's and they said its a nice gesture but a complete waste of money.. and they didnt use half the stuff because they either brought it themselves or didnt need it. I like the idea of a gift though so i dont know... we might do a small/cheaper excursion instead as a way to thank everyone. I wish i could ahve found a good deal on those mini Bubba mugs... but then thats a lot to pack. So i'm not sure yet what im going to do... not really having much luck finding a good excursion company that deals specifically with grand palladium. Most say "from montego bay" or "negril" but we're kind of right smack in the middle... so im confused! lol

Has anyone done a deep sea fishing excursion??? We are travelling in May ... my dad really wants to take the guys out to do this... but Island Routs is over $200 pricing per person.. a little much. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations let me know! Thanks
