Okay, thanks for the help so far! I am not UK based.... I am in Canada. But that is VERY good to know; I will definitely be looking into it! As for the religious aspect, I am pretty sure that you are right, and it would be in line with Catholicism (most of the Dominican beliefs). Maybe a compromise will be to ask a guest to read a verse or say a prayer or something... Hmm... Thank you for the email! I am going to try to get some information from her now...

Great list! I am impressed that you have some on the go or done already! Hmmmm Love the hats for the dads idea. I do not think that is on my list yet... Yeah, the shells are the same idea. I am not sure, actually, if I will go with shells or sand dollars... I like the look/idea of shells, but maybe the sand dollars would be easier to write on... hmmm

Well, I am not 100% okay with my parents' request, but they know the family really well (spend every day with them) so I believe that they know what is best in that situation, so I am okay with it I suppose. I am reminding myself that at the beginning, FI and I agreed that this is what we wanted no matter who or how many other people would come. Definitely helps! I would rather not offend people, and they are convinced that getting and invite will be very offensive; akin to rubbing it in their faces. That being said, I am still including a disclaimer on the invitations to people who ARE getting them, because I think that is a great idea! Also, I REALLY like the idea of giving them something just for a keepsake, like rewording it into an announcement. I think I will be doing this, so thank you so much for the idea!

Well I sat down with my parents last night and told them the same thing... that they should all get an invite regardless, and they were adamantly against it. They did agree to mention and 'feel out' everyone first though, in case they are wrong. I do have a pretty traditional family, so I can see the whole solidarity and head-of-the-family idea, and my parents are reasoning that they will all be there at the AHR, so I guess I will just keep on doing what I am doing. Family stuff is all so different, isn;t it? Thank you all so much for listening to me whine and vent about it. That helps so much!
