  1. Like I suppose. Picture frames?
  2. Another beautiful one! Proti007 - Thank you! Making a note of it now...
  3. There was a bridal show in town today I went to check out; won a picture frame, but other than that it pretty much did not apply to me (which I expected anyway). Very cool to see though, and of course loved the fashion show. I also picked up some stuff at Michaels yesterday; their dollar bins were 3 for $1, which was cool because they had little summer-y things, so I picked up some stuff for the moms and bridal party girls bags.... pens, notebooks, lip gloss, that kind of thing. There are some monogrammed stuff, but they were out of my 'future' letter, so ah well. Also used 2 50% off coupons for some netting for our invites (message in a bottle style) and crushed shells. In case you were wondering, I noticed quite a few bridal things are on 30% off too. So I had a great wedding-stuff weekend!
  4. This dress is GORGEOUS? Where is it from? Designer? Details please! LOVE it!
  5. Ha! Yeah, we had old ones in Mexico on vacation this past summer.... FI had the big big one, and I had a 20 oz. I thought my size was perfect, and he loved his size, but I could not BELIEVE how much liquor it held! It was literally the equivalent of sticking a straw directly into a blender! It took him a while to drink, but the slushy drinks actually stayed the right consistency the whole time! Awesome! The only concern with the big ones is that you are stuck with the same drink for so long. You had better like whatever you put in there! I guess you can always pour it out and get something different though, but that feels wrong somehow.
  6. This is a great idea, We have thought about this, but if we do this, and make a big deal about it, we know no one will come to our actual wedding.... since we would then be doing the legal day, and an ahr, it is like, what is the point of a DW? Why not just use it as just a honeymoon. We are the first ones to do a DW, so people don;t really 'get' it... maybe this is one to keep in mind though. The other problem is that my family is quite religious, and if we did the legal thing at home, they would not feel right about it not being in a church anyway, and then it would be a big thing, which was one of the reasons we were avoiding it to do a DW..... grrrr! I have heard of brides who did this, and think it is lovely. I wish it could work for us, because that would be perfect if only it could! Thank you for the suggestion.
  7. 150, and then it takes about a day to update your status, and then it should be all good.
  8. I am wondering about the webcast.... They do not own a computer or anything, but I think my great aunt, who lives in the same town, might. Have to see... I am also playing with the idea of asking her to come gown shopping with me. I really want her to, but that would involve some travel too, and she might not be able to, and then be more hurt about that. I will definitely bring the dress for her to see, though. - Thank you for that idea!
  9. Gorgeous engagement pictures! And congrats!
  10. I was debating that grey-blue, since purple is not even close to one of our colours, but I love it anyway, and I like how much it shows up. It is a great colour! Now I just have to decide the size I want.... KatieJ, I know, isn't that a great idea? It's what we are planning on doing... we won't be getting too much OOT stuff, since so many people will be fairly seasoned travelers anyway, and are quite prepared people. Just some fun things, so it is nice to be able to fit them into the bubba. Love it!
  11. Does that mean the thread does not exist anymore? I am trying to find it too...
  12. Okay, FI and I are sold on a DW, and we picked a resort in DR, though we have not booked yet. His family is totally supportive; mine have trouble with the idea of not having a huge family thing (we are planning on doing AHR, but since my family is pretty religious, it is not the same apparently.) I can deal with the drama, except.... my grandma practically raised me. She is one of the most special people in the world, and so very important to me. I am closer to her than anyone in my family (except my sister - my moh). My grandma will not be able to come to my wedding, since she will not travel without my grandpa, who is too sick and old to go anywhere. It is the only thing holding me back from enjoying this initial planning stuff. Is there anything I can do, besides having the AHR? My grandma is so sweet, but she is heartbroken that she will not see me get married. I am going to show the wedding video at the AHR. Is there anything you lovely ladies can think of that might make her feel included? I thought of maybe carrying a picture of her and my grandpa on their wedding day in my bouquet. They will be celebrating their 66 anniversary while we are in DR (two days after our big day, actually!)
  13. I bought a beachy purse and have been giving the two moms most of the same things as my bm and moh... barefoot jewelry, pashminas, everything like that. I also thought I would give the dads larger bubba kegs and bucket hats saying "father of the bride" and so on. Here is my dilemma. His parents are extremely supportive and helping us with things. They are wonderful. My parents are sort of there, completely unsupportive and causing some drama. But they are coming (apparently). And they ARE my parents. I really want to do something nice for FI's mom, to say thank you, but I really do not want to offend my mom, since everything else is pretty much the same for the gifts. My mom and I have a strained relationship and I do NOT want to make it any worse by something like that. Does anyone have any ideas? Any at all? I am really stuck here.
  14. This is so tough! To begin with, we picked kid-friendly because we didn't know who would come, but now it looks like no one with kids is even considering it.... We always love the look of adult only, but here is something else to consider.... generally speaking, adults only can be considerably more expensive. Something to consider, if that is an issue.
  15. Yeah, that looks pretty close... it is so hard to tell from the picture!
  16. If you do not find someone in that area, I am in southern Alberta and might be interested in a few... as a back-up. I do not need 60. Maybe 25 only.
  17. robert pattison (uck, sorry) : Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  18. Loathe. I know, I am such a bad Canadian. The Twilight series?
  19. Oh wow... adding insult to injury! I guess you kind of have to laugh at it to keep from crying, right?
  20. This is a good question... can you go through a travel agent for that as well, do you think?
  21. That would be great! Thanks so much - really appreciated!
  22. Mine just had the new style.... I had been planning on the old blue, but oh well! I am getting the purple ones (not that purple is one of our colours, but we are not exactly heartbroken... it is a great purple colour, and my favorite colour!) for the women, 20 oz (the bottle opener built in is so funny!), and the men get the 34 oz, in the navy. I had to get a raincheck, but they cannot guarantee colours, they can just let me know when the sizes come in. Oh, I also got the big 52 oz one for FI's bestman (he only has one person standing up for him). That one is black, since FI thinks that is more groomsman appropriate. I am running to a different Canadian Tire tomorrow to see if they have any more. All in all though, very happy about them!
