  1. That is GORGEOUS! Would you mind me asking how much she asked for? I really love this look...
  2. When Harry Met Sally - Meg Ryan
  3. Hi! I am debating a photographer. This is a priority for us, but we don't have tons of money either. Originally, we were looking to hire someone local to DR, and we found someone we liked. Haven't booked yet or anything. Then we were going to rely on our friends and family for other pictures. We are not getting married in a very touristy area. So we would be paying for our photographer, plus day passes, and I want to add on a TTD. Is it maybe better to hire someone here to take along? I haven't really looked into this option, but now I am thinking about it. What do you ladies think? I would like to hear your opinions and experiences.
  4. I am working on a Mixbook right now. So far I like putting it together. Seems good so far. Making one for engagement pics for a guestbook, and another bd for FI. When I finish it and order it, I will let you know about quality.
  5. I am doing this for my guestbook. I just used mixbook and am making a book with a mix of engagement pics and us through the years. Another idea is to get a book of photography or something from the area, and have guests sign that, if you like that idea.
  6. I do not have a pic of the bikini bag. They are in the accessories section of Walmart, with the purses and such. They had them in yellow and pink, in two different styles. I went for the pick ones with "bikini bag" written simply in black. FI is not having groomsmen; just a best man. I normally like the groom in something different, but with just one other guy, we decided to just get them the same shirt. We will do a different bout or something like that I guess.
  7. Yeah, I am really struggling with this one. We like West Jet, but were excited about the prospect of flying First Class... when else would we be able to do that? And with Air Canada, we could.... Only Air Canada and West Jet go to our destination. decisions decisions.
  8. I am doing that debate too. FI has mentioned - very vocally, lol - that he would love to see me in a shorter style dress. I am about 90% sure I will have a short one. If you want to see some styles, you can check out my pinterest (potential wedding dresses section, under the name Krysta C.)
  9. I totally agree! And would love to see a picture of what you found!
  10. Do we just post our updated weight? If so, it's 158 for me. Same measurements as last time though.
  11. I posted on here a week or so ago that I ordered shoes from Beyond the Rack, even though I do not yet have a dress. Well, they came in, and I love them, but they are too orange. I was going for coral... a very hard colour to find! (They are either too orange or too pink or too expensive). So, the shoes are just going to be to have for fun, and I am back to keeping my eyes open!
  12. For those brides considering a cleanse, I have a couple to report on. Previously I have tried the Wild Rose cleanse. The pills were pretty tough going down, but I actually did this one twice, and felt good afterward (and lost about 10 pounds the first time, about 6 the second!). There is a meal list to follow for this one, which came in handy as well. Right now I am doing a cleanse called "Wholy Tea" I believe. It is a tea you make, let steep, and keep in the refrigerator. You drink 2 cups a day. It tastes like cold green tea; I add a little lemon and it tastes just fine. No meal plan to follow, but I certainly like this one. FI found it for me at a chiropractor I believe, and it came pretty highly recommended. It is for a month. So I have not been on it too long, but so far, good things to report for sure! This would also be a good one for someone to try who has never done a cleanse before. Highly recommended for sure! I found this website if anyone is interested: http://www.gonaturalcanada.com/product.php?ID=68926997
  13. Okay, I know you are not done, but I just have to say that I was so excited to see your planning thread! I LOVE the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya and am honestly surprised that more brides do not choose to get married there. Looks lovely so far and cannot wait to see more!
  14. Agreed. Have you thought about white orchids for the trailing ones? And fewer? Otherwise, I agree with whoever said the darker colour. They do seem too heavy looking. Beautiful, but doesn't really seem to match the rest of the bouquet.
  15. Thank you! I am looking for a short dress, so I need a place with good selection. This is very good to know!
  16. Thanks for the help ladies! I think we are going to go with the same thing, and we will try to change it up with bouts or something. FI finally just said to order the same shirt for simplicity sake. Haha.
  17. I might be, depending on when and where. I am in Lethbridge.
  18. Hey all you Calgary brides! I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good bridal stores. I am from Lethbridge, and will probably be driving up to do my gown shopping in Calgary (unless I find something local). I have a small budget (want to spend less than $1000) and I do not want to drive all the way to Calgary, with the people coming with me also making the trip, only to not be able to afford anything in any of the stores. Any ideas would be great!
  19. Was this one directed at me? We have been getting constant feedback from our friends and family, and we have a pretty good idea who will and will not be coming. We know, for example, that, barring some tragedy, his parents will be there. We also have a pretty good idea of some friends who say "count us in!" but we would put money on them not coming when it comes down to it. The only thing is, we will be going with a fairly small group, and we are not sure about some VIPs. We don't know about my brothers or parents (again, we would bet they are, but they hate planning things in advance). Also, my bm is now trying to get pregnant, so, though she swears we will be there, we can guess she will not be (sucks, but understandable). So, though we do not have it written in stone, I guess this was my long ranty way of saying that we are guessing, but we think we have a fairly decent idea.
  20. Are you sending out save the dates? We are doing those right after booking (about 14 months in advance), then are looking to do invites about 8 months in advance. Then a brochure with information and such about 6 weeks in advance. I do not know when to ask people to RSVP by, but that is certainly a good question... I think about 3 months is a good plan. When do they need to book by?
  21. I just had to say. this dress is so gorgeous!
  22. Yeah, I suggested this one too... and was promptly vetoed by FI. No ties! (or jackets - for those they have opinions.)
