I finally got a quote from our travel agent! It looks good, but is only good until the end of this month (nice timing, right?) so we need to move now if we are going to go ahead with this booking. I think we are, if she answers our questions and everything! I am so excited! Finally!

Hi! And welcome! As for the dates, I am a teacher, and so I would have a similar schedule to yours. We have decided on July. Some people think we are nuts for going off season, but we have travelled off season before... it is a significant price drop than on season, and quieter, and I get built in time off... It was really a no brainer to us, even though others still are not so sure! Anyway, research your location. Some places get quite hot in July, some are the rainy months... but we have always had good luck, and it is totally worth it in our world. Just our perspective!

Oh yeah, for sure! It is too bad, too, because he has a lot to choose from in a big box he kept. I gave all mine to my sister, who kept them now in a big box. But none are small enough for cake size for me. So we are on the hunt for a teeny tiny Cinderella to stand with his Han Solo. If you knew us, that wouldn't seem out of place at all, trust me.

Oh yeah... my weigh in today was 158. I wish it was lower! But my own fault, I know!

My biggest problem is I spend 2 hours every day commuting to work, so that cuts into my schedule so much. But with summer around the corner, though my gym pass expires, I will have a lot more time (I'm a teacher... summers off). I will then be walking everywhere all the time! I think it is a great idea to make those changes. Let me know how the zumba bundles are!

And your wedding is only a month after mine! I am struggling with a crazy work schedule. The big focus in portioning for me right now. I am not getting to the gym as much as I would like, but I am trying to get there more. I take zumba once a week as a start, and try to make it a time or two besides that. But my gym pass expires at the end of the month, so I need to get my butt outside!

I am going to probably go with short dress style too... and I love the coloured shoes idea! Great!

You will be able to. You actually just need to go a couple over, and then it takes a bit for it to recognize that you are at 150, but be patient; it isn't immediate, but it is quick and it will happen!

I should mention, there were 3 photographers I researched for the Samana area. I liked the style of a different one more, but there was no way we could afford everything we wanted from her. This was a compromise... I think it is nice, I am not totally in love, but pretty happy, and they seem pretty good and you can get a lot.

No, I'm not debating using the resort photographer. I meant an actual photographer in the country. We are getting married in samana and he is from punta canal. Reputable too. Still not sure though.

Yes, I still have a little more than a year to go... the chances of them actually going bankrupt are fairly small I think. I hope!

Are you at all concerned about flying with AC? We were originally going to go with them. Only AC and WestJet fly to that location out of Calgary (our closest airport). Now, with all the drama Air Canada has been having, I am not so sure. What do you think? Should we "risk" it?

Yay another July bride! I thought I was the only one.

I am also thinking of finding some vintage handkerchiefs and embroidering them myself with first names for my bms, and with "mom" and "dad" for them. Maybe one for FMIL too? I do not think FI or his dad or best man would like one though. But I can just imagine my sister dabbing at her eyes a little... Very vintage.

I'm not shopping for my wedding dress until summer, but I am looking almost exclusively at short or tea-length styles. I was pretty torn, but that is FI's request, and the more pics I look at featuring that style, the more I like it. I have just looked online for coral dresses, and briefly in stores. I only have one bm and one moh. I really want to get their dresses just in a regular store or online to save some cash (I am buying them). It is hard to find actual coral though... things seem to be too pink or too orange. Just have to keep looking though - I have time! It does seem to be a hot colour this year though, so hopefully that helps.

If you are interested in pinterest, I can send you an invite. It is quicker than requesting one. That is funny; coral is our colour too! So for the DW it is coral and blues, tropical... though now I find myself coming back to lots of 50s vintage things too. But for the AHR more subtle corals and blues to mix in with the rustic vintage look. Love the ideas ladies!

Okay, so I created these save the dates in Word a few months ago, but I should be able to FINALLY book within the month, and then I will be sending them out, so I was tweaking them a bit. I wanted some opinions... Should I go with this, which was the original plan? Or this? They are VERY similar, I just took off a little information. I thought 3 pages were too many. And I figured, if they go to the website they can get the links to the resort and travel agent anyway. And anyone who does NOT go to the website will be talking to us anyway. We really are not expecting that many people to come along at all. Well, anyway, I guess the question is, should a save the date have more, or less, information? Thoughts? PS - Also, FI was visiting from work this weekend. We spent ALL day Saturday at the movies... 4 in one day! We have rarely done that since university! I love the vintage/rustic look too... we actually originally thought about having a wedding like that in the mountains. But anyway, I would like to bring in those elements to our AHR. I am collecting glass jars and wrapping twine around them to use for centrepieces (with white flowers... I am thinking maybe bunches of baby's breath) I have also been collecting some other ideas.
