Bridesmaids dresses
Peach replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Okay, so I was seriously planning on making multiway dresses for my bm and moh... and then I was in a mall in Calgary with FI, and we saw these at Forever 21... For $33. They only had two dresses... in the sizes we need. $33! I cannot buy material for that, and we like them, and the colour is good, and it is the material type and "feel" that we want - pretty and casual and a little bohemian/vintage look. Again I say... $33 each! CRAZY! So of course we had to go that way. I have a picture of my lovely sister and moh trying on the dress... in a mall public bathroom right after I bought the dresses. Hers will need to be taken in about an inch or two, but I am not too worries about that. Ignore her tights and shoes... She just threw it on so we could see the style and shape on her. So the pictures are not very good... like I said, she threw it on, and all the pics were taken with my phone, but it at least gives an idea. What do you guys think? Is it bridesmaid-y enough? -

I have heard a lot of brides on here send them out together, but for me personally I want to send them out separately. We are delivering message-in-a-bottle invites, and want to do that around Christmas. It is a little early, but that way we will be seeing a bunch of the people who are getting them, so we can save on some shipping. I just think ours is too early to send out AHR invites (for August) at that same time. Just my opinion though, and I think it would depend on your family and friends. Plus, I like getting invites in the mail... so I think our guests will be good getting them later in the spring.

Show off your shoes....

I looked at them, since coral is one of our colours, but I ended up with blue, another of our colours that will be my "something blue". I have seen some coral shoes on Beyond the Rack, but that was a while ago. I was looking for wedges, though, so I didn't really keep my eye out for the stilettos. Have you been looking online too? -
Yup, coral is one of my colours too! FI and I have found it a little tricky to find BM dresses in the right shade of coral (ie not peach, pink or orange), so I am buying fabric to DIY multiway dresses myself for them. Other coral elements include a lot of papercrafts (Scrapbookers Paradise was closing in town, so I bought out their coral paper! LOL) and font and such. Our colours are actually coral and different shades of blue. Oh! And I found a cute purse at Payless end of last season that is coral, so I will have that too. Any other ideas, ladies?

Hello there, Calgary brides! I just had some boudoir pictures done in Calgary at Miss Behave. It was SUCH an awesome experience, and Alix made me feel so comfortable and hot! (And I am rather self conscious!) She even kept shooting longer than I had booked, and didn't charge me, so we definitely got our money's worth! If any of you Calgary brides are looking to do BD pics, I highly recommend them. She just showed me a couple pics as we were shooting, not even touched up, and they looked so amazing! And I always look RIDICULOUS in photos! Highly, highly, highly recommend. http://www.miss-behave.com/ Just a note, please. If you DO decide to go to them, please drop my name (Krysta C.), and I can get a deal towards my photos I order. But even without that, I still recommend them! I cannot wait to see my pictures!

I have used Mixbook a couple times, and am happy with them. I am using Photobook Canada for our engagement pictures/guest book. I like the way it is coming together, only I initially liked Mixbook better. It is not as easily customizable starting from scratch, I found, which I like to do. But it really depends on what you are after... I think it is coming together fine, though there were some initial frustrations. I have seen a couple books printed by them, and I was quite pleased with the quality.

Okay, tomorrow morning I am waking up early, making the 2-3 hour drive to Calgary, getting my hair done, doing my makeup in a car, and then, I am having BD pics done! Eeek! FI actually bought the groupon for me to do it, so he knows about them. In fact, he is coming to Calgary too. What he DOESN'T know is that I am taking them and putting them into a book, along with some DIY ones. I am so nervous! And excited! But mostly nervous! I upgraded so I can do two outfits, and I have no idea what to wear. I threw tons of stuff in a huge bag, so today I am going through and eliminating some of them. I still am going to bring TONS though. I have: - 3 pairs of heels (blue, pink, and black) - 1 pair ankle boots (red) - stockings (2 pairs, one with seam in the back, one fishnets) - 2 corsets (black and purple) - bustier (red) - garters - lacy bras - lacy undies - short black pleated skirt From FI today I am also stealing one of his ties and a workshirt. Maybe a Leafs jersey too, though I wanted to do some of those DIY.... So far, I am leaning towards a corset outfit for one, and the men's workshirt for the other... I am SO nervous! It is actually a use-up-groupon trip... Also going to a couple restaurants, and lingerie shopping. And the hair styling is a groupon too. We love groupon! (Actualy, the book I am going to make was a mixbook groupon too..lol!) We are actually making a weekend of it, and going to check out a couple malls to look for potential bridesmaid dresses. If we cannot find anything, I am probably going to make those multiway ones. Who else out there is doing BD pics? Any tips I am missing? I have looked at tons of pictures for inspiration (which I will promptly forget as soon as I get there tomorrow), and have read a few threads on here... I am most worried about my makeup. I am supposed to go dark, but I usually do not wear tons, and I bought a cheapy pair of false eyelashes too. I hate that I am on a timeline for them... What if I mess it up? Well, I am sure it will all work out anyway! Well, maybe not most worried... I am most worried about how they will turn out, since I am a little chubby and quite self-conscious about, like, my tummy and thighs. But they are professionals... they will make it work! Wish me luck!

Go to the website, and click on the product you want to be notified about. There is a button somewhere that says "Notify Me" or something to that effect. They go on sale a lot, but I have only gotten, like, 3 emails. So I also check the flyers. But it definitely helps!

I would be offended too, but ONLY if I had a significant other who was not invited. If I am single, I can understand that. But, let's say I had a serious boyfriend or something (in the world where I am not engaged, of course)... and he was not also invited, or I didn't get an "and guest", then I would be offended, or at least talk to the person about it. However, if I am not in a serious relationship, and if I know other people there, I can understand that.
