  1. I have no words to thank you for responding to my post. I have been concerned about my hair and makeup from the very beginning. Thank you so much for putting me at ease. Btw - you looked STUNNING! Your pictures are gorgeous as well, you guys looked great. And the 80s hair? I'm just going to leave that alone lol Really, it looked wind blown (which it should as you were on the beach) so that is a good thing.....Congrats and thanks again!!!
  2. You guys are awesome! It means so much that past brides still come on here to offer advice. I changed my menu to the petit gourmet and will be using bridesmaid bouquets as the centerpieces. That was an awesome idea. I now don't feel so bad about using the ipod. Thanks for saving me some money!!!! I still have 3 months to go, I hope I don't change everything again lol Couple more questions - What are you guys using for your processional throw? Rice, bubbles or rose petals? Anybody doing authentic maracas as a favor? Where can you find them on the island for a reasonable price? My coordinator didn't recommend shipping them to the hotel. Anyone doing a welcome kit? We have bags for each guest with the weekend's itinerary of events along with a custom coozie. I'm thinking of having them delivered to the guest's rooms or given out at check-in. What are your thoughts on custom champagne flutes and the cake serving set? I keep going back and forth. I don't want to bother with having to transport it down there but I also don't want to regret not having it as a memento as there are so many things we won't get to bring back (i.e. cake, bouquet, etc.) Thanks again! Ally
  3. Are there any African-American brides that used their salon for hair and makeup? Were you pleased?

  5. Hi all! We are getting married 10/29/11. Has anyone used Magic Vision for their photography? Any feedback? We are having between 35-40 people, what are you guys thoughts on using the IPOD amplifier and speaker system as opposed to paying the $1500 for a dj? Our reception is at the Plaza zavas pool deck. Are there any recommendations on table decorations? I am planning a table runner (persimmon) and a small tea light candle centerpiece? Too simple? I'm thinking the area's setting alone is enough. As far as reception food, are you guys planning an all out feast? My fiance (Ray) and I have had a lot of discussion about this. He feels that given it's an all-inclusive resort, it doesn't make sense to have a lavish spread for the extra cost. I don't want to compromise and end up with a lackluster dining experience. Please share your thoughts. Our budget is pretty tight but I don't want to regret something because I'm being TOO cost conscious.
  6. I'd love to know how much the other dj is as well. I opted to do the amplifier with iPod bc lomas was too expensive. Details please!!'. We are having around 40 ppl as well.

  8. I am getting married there October 29, 2011! We are all set. I'd love to hear what you all are doing for welcome kits and favors. I'm concerned about traveling with too much. I'm doing a lot of the stuff myself. We are making luggage tags as the favor. We have custom koozies as the welcome kit gift and are making panel fan Programs. We got custom gift bags for the welcome kit that will also hold a welcome brochure. We are giving the guests rose petals to toss. Are any of you doing the sand ceremony? Bridal suite? I've signed up for those as well.
