Gifts or favors for children?
DramaticAnnie replied to redginger's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I am planning on doing something different for the kids. I have my Godson and some nieces and nephews coming, I was going to get my Godson (who is only going to be 3 at the time) some age appropriate stuff, probably a little pack of crayons and see if i can find a wedding coloring book or something like that, plus I was looking at the Oriental Trading website and they have stuff like a dozen inflatable mini beach balls for $5.99, I was going to get things like that, and I also picked up some Lipsmackers chapsticks when they were on sale for the girls. I've seen other people do water guns as well, you'll find lots of ideas on the oriental trading site, what about inflatable pool toys, kid sunglasses, hats? Just some ideas.. -
OOT orange/yellow bag
DramaticAnnie replied to milakd's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I would also like to know what you got for your male guests, if anything? I am planning on getting some nice big tote bags, even if I don't FILL them, but so people can use them as beach bags and stuff. I know the guys wont use them.. but so far I don't have any single guys coming except for my brothers. I want to get them something different but I don't know what.. the bridal websites have little duffel bags but they're not the type to use duffel bags.. I need a messenger style bag for one of them and a backpack style for the other.. lol.. I guess I'll have to keep my eyes peeled.. but if you have suggestions let me know -
Another bride posted clear insulated cups with straws on here not that long ago, she got them at Costco for a good price, and I suppose you can print clear labels and personalize them with those and it wouldn't be very expensive at all: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/71893/insulated-cups

Bridesmaid Photo Shoot
DramaticAnnie replied to britb618's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I like this idea too! I think it would be fun as a surprise. Personally I know some of my girls would be up for something like that if they had a couple of drinks in them first.. so maybe a sunset photo shoot instead of in the morning?? lol.. Depends on their personalities though! -

Hi BDW Brides! I love this site and especially the forums. Now, I have a little bit of a 'happy problem' I guess you could call it and I know all you creative ladies will have lots of good advice for me. I have read lots and lots of posts on what people are giving their bridesmaids or special guests and there are people getting some starfish jewelry from Kohl's (I live in Canada, no Kohl's here as far as I know) or even from Tiffany's (amazing idea, just not budget-friendly). I liked that idea! So I did a random search on eBay one day and after pages and pages of starfish pendants, found these really nice starfish pendants that came with a chain, and in my wedding color even (turquoise)! They were really pretty, not like the skinny type of starfish pendant you normally see, these ones were with swarvoski (sp?) crystals, etc. I fell in love with them. And they were $3.74! I asked the seller if he had 5 so I could put one in each of my bridesmaids oot bags, thinking it was going to be like a cheap sort of trinket/keepsake, I didn't think they'd want to wear it to the wedding or anything. Well I got them today. They are gorgeous. They are a nice size, and super nice quality, and I was expecting the chain to be a cheapie little easy-breaking chain but its NOT. It's not high quality but it's a strong little chain! I mean I would totally dig it if the girls wanted to wear these with their dresses (which we havent even picked out yet)! But I didn't want to be like picking their jewelry out for them... so what do I do?? Do I give it before the wedding?? If so, when? Should I just keep it in their OOT bags? Also, when the seller got back to me, he said he had EIGHT. So then I thought.. one for me(hehe).. five for the bridesmaids (including my MOH and my JR Bridesmaid),, and even two I could give the mother of the bride and mother of the groom! So I bought the lot of them for under 30 bucks and I am doing a mega happy dance because they really are gorgeous, I would have easily spent $20-$40 if I saw these in a store, honestly. I can link you guys to the ebay seller, they had tons more different pendants and different colors, I know there was starfish with clear crystals but I couldn't resist the aqua/turquoise ones. If I do give them before the wedding, should I give my mom and my future mother in law theirs too before the wedding? I figured they'd have their own outfit going on... What do I do? I found a great deal and now I don't know what to do with it! lol I mean.. if I had paid a lot of money for them, yes I would give them before the wedding in case they wanted to wear them to the wedding.. but because of the price I paid for them.. I feel kinda guilty? I don't know why.. if I can't find something to wear as a necklace I'll wear this! But then I guess it would be nice if we all wore them another time.. if I gave with the oot bag........................ ??? See I'm back and forth here, that's why I need your guys' help.

Guardian Pharmacy - Chapstick sale! Guardian is part of the 'Rexall family' of pharmacy's.. and I picked up several chapsticks (not the chapstick brand but you know what I mean) WITH SPF for a pretty good price: These were three in a pack (fruit flavors with SPF 15) rexall brand for $1.49 I noticed there was also an empty rack of two-pack rexall brand chapstick with aloe that would also have been $1.49 but they were all gone... Then when I was walking out I noticed these ones on sale too and picked them up for the younger girls coming, my nieces, they were on for $1.79 for a pack of three: Now I don't know if this is all Guardian Pharmacy's, or all places (like the Medicine Shoppe, PharmaPlus, I D A) that carry the Rexall brand, but I thought I would pass it along! I wish you guys luck!

Wow, congratulations! You pulled off an amazing looking wedding even with your last minute change of plans! Just goes to show us that we're not in control of everything. I love your necklace! I'm gonna google up that jewerly designer. My favorite part about this whole thing was the doggie place cards.. We are not having a sit down reception (cruise ship wedding) but I MUST copy that idea some how and have photos of my doggies at the wedding! I love it!! Love it love it love it -

DramaticAnnie replied to bella2140's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Hi Bella! I got mine from an ebay seller who goes by gcishoponline - I got the link to his listings from another thread on here, I think a lot of BDW brides have ordered through them! Here is a link to their ebay store - I personally bought horizontal card holders with the zip top, and lanyards (all different colors) as well! http://stores.ebay.com/gcishoponline -
Oh my GOODNESS! This is amazing! You did an amazing job and everything looks super super professional, if I didn't see your elaborate DIY station I almost wouldn't have believed that stuff really was DIY stuff! I would love to see your templates for your oot bag tags and your luggage tags.. how did you make those luggage tags?? And the bags themselves are so awesome. Oh man, I wish I was a guest at your wedding just to get a bag! Even one of the kids ones, lol. Everything looks so perfect, you are so super creative. Good luck and congratulations!!

I'm a bride to be on the Carnival Dream in April 2012.. if you scrolled up 2 posts before you'd see an OOT bag stands for an Out-Of-Town bag.. and it's something (not mandatory or anything by any means) that the bride and groom have for their guests who are travelling in from out of town to join them for their wedding. They can be as simple as a welcome note, some postcards and a small bag of snacks, or as elaborate as including personalized travel mugs, beach towels, and all manners of souveniers and first aid kits, etc.
