Now I finally "get" what a barefoot sandal is! Beautiful pictures by the way So far I have gotten my bm's and moh a beautiful swarvoski crystal pendant from eBay, I started ordering personalized flasks for a few of them from ebay too (way cheaper there then on any wedding site by the way), and I have an order in to Frankie Lloyd on etsy for custom wristlets, and they will be getting pashmina's in their oot bags like all the other ladies.. we haven't gone dress shopping yet but would like to take care of something of their outfit for them since they are all paying their way to the wedding & cruise itself, if I can't do the dress I'd like to do something you know like shoes, or hair/makeup, jewelry, etc.

Gift for 16yr old MOH?
DramaticAnnie replied to SeeFlowers's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
It depends, you know her best! Some 16 year olds I know would love the little pendant from Tiffany's - and some would rather the latest smartphone... My Goddaughter is my Jr Bridesmaid and she will just have turned 14 when we get married next year.. but so far she's definetely not the jewelry type. I'd like to get her maybe a little camera or camcorder or something. If I upgraded her phone she would be dying to use it but not allowed to for a week because we'll be in the caribbean, lol.. we'll see -
Wow guys! I just read through this whole thread and there are so many ideas out there. That puzzle piece BD pic thing was super unique, though I very much don't think I am doing BD pics! So.. for every post that talks about what the gift will be.. there is a post saying they are NOT doing gifts, whether its because theyre paying for the wedding themselves or some other reason. I didn't hear about this until last year when my sisters good friend got married, she asked the groom the morning of the wedding what he got her for her special wedding day gift from him, and he's like WTF I was supposed to get her something?? So she actually secretly gave him a diamond bracelet that she had ordered from like jewelry television or something that came in and was too small for her, and the bride loved it, my sister saved the day, etc. But that was the first I had heard of the gift giving thing too. That being said - I like the idea - lol - but I also wouldn't know what to give. If I had a unlimited bank account the first thing on the list would be a motorcycle but I don't... so... what's the deal with watches anyway? My FI has never owned a watch that cost more then like fifty bucks.. but he sure loves them. I would like to get him a nice dressy watch but I have never heard of any big brands or anything - I would have no clue how to shop for a watch for him. I know he would love it and he never can go without wearing a watch - so can you guys give me some suggestions of watches or watch brands? Particularly if they're really awesome? lol I know he tried on a watch at a jewelry place when we were Mexico or someplace in the caribbean last year while on a cruise.. and he liked it! And then he asked how much it was.. and they were like $14,0000.00. I was like OMG you could buy a car with that. He was very nervous about taking it off, afraid he would break it, lol. So any advice on this would be appreciated! But just not fourteen thousand dollar ones, k?

OMG I never even thought to look for things like this on eBay, I just figured medication wasn't allowed or something, this is a fabulous tip! This is so where I'm going to order my immodium packets from. I have never been this psyched about immodium. But since a lot of ppl commented the pain meds were the most used item in their kits I'm going to go with the little tubes (10 packs) of advil as opposed to a 2 pack packet... Thanks kya101!

We've been ordering for a while (me and my Mom) so we have several pens, note books, note pads, tshirts, etc. Yes you do have to pay shipping (especially if you get your big Just Married banner or whatever it raises shipping costs) every time, but there's no way you're going to pay those prices for 'free' PERSONALIZED products - the personalization is the kicker, you try to go somewhere else and get one pen personalized with you and your grooms name/wedding date/thank you note etc You can only order up to 10 free things per order then things start costing money, so go for it, get a free pen, note pad, note book (two different things), keychain, sticky notes, tshirt, hat, then people use the free Rack Cards for stuff like the door hangers since they are a harder like card stock and long. They do have multiples of some stuff free, like if you order magnets they'll send you 25, not one, and they'll also send you 100 free postcards (great oot fillers, plus you can personalize with whereever you're staying, you can even design your own with a picture of the resort or whatever.. though the resort ppl might not like that lol), and they'll give you 50 free oversized postcards which are really big, I've seen creative ladies on here make their keycard holder tag out of this plus a bookmark, like there was two key card holder tags and a bookmark per postcard, and there's 50, so she would have ended up with 100 tag holder thingies and 50 bookmarks, just search vistaprint on here and you'll see lots of creative ideas. Also return address labels are usually free, free posters, banners, etc.. But yes, shipping and handling + tax will getcha everytime. When they do advertise 'free shipping' its usually for orders like over $40 or whatever.. and my order total usually comes to 'free', so...

Luggage Tags
DramaticAnnie replied to Sharon99's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I can't open your attachment so I don't see what your luggage tag looks like.. but sorry it didn't turn out the way you thought.. I would've only ordered one and then if it works out good you just order more when it comes in? And ska2m.. where can I find more information on your luggage tag person? I like the logo personalization.. and you can still stick the card with all the info in the back.. -
Just to mix things up a bit, I am from Nova Scotia and getting married on a cruise ship next year (April 28th, 2012) the "Carnival Dream"! We will be married on the ship before it leaves the port in Florida then will be travelling to four stops in the caribbean on a week long cruise... would love to hear from other Canadian cruise brides Good luck and happy planning to all!

I've been thinking about this - we're paying for a lot ourselves and while I wouldn't probably be able to afford anything extravagant, I would still like to have something special. My FI does like watches but he's never spent like more then $50 on one... I guess I should keep an eye out for something nice! And he always gets me jewelry for Christmas and stuff.. I don't want to ask for any jewelry.. although I just (at 28 years old) got my ears pierced two days ago because i want to be able to wear earrings for the wedding, so maybe I'll ask for earrings.. lol.. but keep the ideas coming!

Delivery of OOT Bags?
DramaticAnnie replied to starchild's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I'm getting married on a cruise ship and other cruise ship brides have told me that the cruise line will deliver the bags to the guests rooms for $1 per bag.. I really hope this is true as I really want the bag to be a little 'surprise' in their rooms! The groomsmen and bridesmaids bags will probably be the same as everyones but planning to put their gifts (like flasks or whatever I get) in their bag -

Ladies - please check eBay for wedding stuff before buying it on those wedding favor websites. I am a noob.. I have been researching my DW for only a couple of months now.. but I am trying to get a lot of the costs out of the way before the actual trip takes place (it's a cruise ship wedding) as I know there will be a lot of additional costs at that time and I don't want to be scrambling looking for wedding favors or bridesmaid gifts, etc. I have been unpleasantly surprised by the wedding favor websites that won't ship to Canada, or will charge more for duties and shipping then the actual items are worth. I have been able to score amazing deals on ebay.ca, and pay the shipping charges that you see upfront. We have all scored deals like with the key card/tip holders on ebay, but there's so much more! Most of the wedding favors you see on the websites are on ebay and for drastically lower prices then on the sites! And if you look for the right ebay sellers, they will adjust the amount of items as you need them (for example, someone selling 50 favors can adjust the lot to sell you more or less, say if you needed only 35, or if you needed 70, etc). To give you an example, I searched cruise ship wedding favors trying to find something 'cruise ship-pie'. I found this cute magnet of a boat wheel steering thingy: http://www.cruisenfavors.com/ourcoissetst.html - - it's it's cute and all, but $11.50 for one? While I could probably find it cheaper on other sites, I stumbled across it on ebay doing another 'cruise wedding' search I found them on ebay in sold in lots, for example this is a lot of 24 and dividing up the price it would cost me $1.83 for one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130334125136&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Another thing I've been looking out for is flasks.. my FI wants to get these for at least a couple of his groomsmen very much.. and they're frigging expensive on every site even when they go on sale and then to personalize them, whew.. I went to Things Engraved and they're like 40 bucks a set there too.. but ong do a search on ebay and you'll find every color, size, design, free personalization, the whole works. These pink flasks will be perfect for my BM's http://cgi.ebay.ca/Pink-Flask-Personalized-Groomsmen-Bridesmaid-Gifts-0D6-/140543636050?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b90db252 and I wasn't even planning on getting them flasks until I found better prices I could get for them. And I'm only at the beginning of my flask search. Just search like 'wedding favor lot' or if you want more specifics search 'starfish wedding favor lot' or 'flip flop wedding favor lot', just for example... i'm glad to see that most of what I can't get because I don't have an american address is available on ebay, where sellers are happy to ship to Canada (well most of the time)... happy hunting!

Wedding Party a Disaster!
DramaticAnnie replied to Tiffanya21's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I am having this issue KINDA with one of my bm's who is a party animal... everyone tells me not to expect her to go because she's not going to be able to get her deposit together.. but we'll see. Hopefully she and the other lady she booked with just room together and don't bring any of these 'date' ideas they've been mentioning... -

How big around is it? (Like you know most bracelets are like 7", or 8"?)
