Drawstring backpacks???
DramaticAnnie replied to kim0806's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Hey Lasallebabe, does your bag guy only do drawstring backpacks? lol Are you looking for a cotton kind or the more sporty looking ones? Have you tried ebay? Here's the first result I got after typing in "lot drawstring backpack" http://cgi.ebay.com/Drawstring-4-oz-Cotton-Backpack-Tote-Lot-24-/120732413732?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1c366f24 You never know what you're going to find on ebay -
Super Cute Beach Towels
DramaticAnnie replied to loveyd's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Very nice! I love the turquoise ones (obviously since its my wedding color) - are you planning to get them embroidered? -
Is it just all of the stuff weighing you guys down? You're making me panic about how to get my OOT bag stuff down to Florida now (I live in Nova Scotia, Canada) and most of the stuff I've told/asked my parents and brothers to take with them in their luggage.. my bulkiest thing will probably be Bubba Keg Mugs for the guys (haven't decided if I'm buying any for the ladies as well lol, I wasn't planning to until I saw their awesome color choices they have now, purples and aquas, etc.). But I'm not taking any bottled water or anything. What are your heaviest items? And with a cruise, once you check your luggage when you arrive it's not guaranteed to show up in your room until after the boat leaves the port, which is like 6 hours later so they've already told us to take everything on board that we will need for the wedding.. including wedding dress, bridesmaids and groomsmen attire, shoes, wedding reception items, etc. So I don't think OOT bags will make it to the guests until after the actual wedding, but I really want guests to have the bags delivered to their rooms and I'm trying to keep it a surprise.. so I may enlist the help of my MOH to assemble the guests bags the night before the wedding (We're only going to be there one day in advance and will be with EVERYone), but I'll keep the MOH/Best Man and Bridesmaids/Groomsmen bags to myself and my fiancee since we're putting their extra little gifts in there.

Bubba Kegs
DramaticAnnie replied to hommer's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Canadian Tire has an awesome thing called Sale Alerts on their website - go to Canadian Tire's website and sign up for an account with them. You can't buy things online but you'll get the flier in your email etc. The best thing is you can go to your product you're interested in (for example the 20oz. Bubba Keg mini mugs) and then click ADD SALE ALERT... Then when the product is coming up on sale that week it will send you an email a couple of days before the sale starts letting you know "Your product is coming up on sale at Canadian Tire". I have the bubba mugs on my sale alert list along with a couple of other things I've been able to buy once they came on sale and then remove off my list. LOVE this option. Why don't more websites have this option?? Also, I've only had them on my sale alert thing for maybe 3 months at the most and they have gone on sale twice during that time for $4.99 each. The first time I went they only had like a couple in, so I just got a raincheck for the rest I wanted and went in a couple weeks later and picked them up Happy Shopping! -
Hangover kit tags help
DramaticAnnie replied to DRbride13's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I am getting close! But really you just need some time on the weekends or whenever you have time, start going through the finished oot bag threads and the 'planning journal' threads and theres so many great ideas out there and people looking for input, that post count adds up quickly! -
Yes I think our guests will have a lot of fun with them.. at first I was thinking it was more for the kids but I think we will all have fun with them.. and I know my fiancee and his best man are both big fans of tattoos and everyone knows why I am making them wear long sleeved jackets for the wedding, lol.. plus we got to "design it" ourselves so its a nice personal touch I highly recommend it if you're looking for a unique favor!

WILL YOU BE MY BRIDESMAID?!?
DramaticAnnie replied to Sllefebvr's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
awww what a unique personal touch - added bonus if they are as tasty as they look! I kind of feel bad for not asking people more formally now.. just kinda told them they were a bridesmaid, and did they agree with that or not? lol -
BM Gifts
DramaticAnnie replied to luckyj711's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I really love how the embroidering and custom 'ribbon' and accents were done! Great idea -
I got some wristlets from FrankieLloyd on etsy.. in custom fabric with a custom detachable flower.. and I also got custom temporary tattoos on etsy too.. you can get regular tattoo designs but my fiancee and I came up with a design of our own (well we gave them the design ideas and paid for a custom design) And now I am liking these little clutches from a seller called Vanijja, I actually ordered some swatches of fabric from her to see what best matches my colors and they are on their way... Another thing on etsy I like is the custom hangers you can get your name bent in the wire part of the hanger? Or put like Annie (heart shape) Blaine.. kind of thing.. that seller is blackscrapcat I believe.. I haven't ordered there yet but I think I might... And the same person that did my temporary tattoos (Buttonhead is the seller) does little customized mirrors, perfect size for a little clutch.. you can get your bridesmaids names on the backs, stuff like that.. And that's only SOME of the ideas I've come across on there so far.. I'm amazed because when I first looked at it, I thought wow this is only handmade stuff.. and it really didn't impress me.. but you have to search to find good stuff, and there are a LOT of talented ppl out there.. Happy shopping!

OOT Bags - Anyone DISLIKE???
DramaticAnnie replied to proti007's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Love your bag GrandcayBride! What sort of underwater camera did you get from ebay? I've been checking them out and the reasonably priced ones are from hong kong or something, they don't come with film and shipping is expensive.. is it like a kodak disposable one? -
I don't think anybody's done them themselves with a timer, they go to a professional photographer and you'd be surprised how many are out there that do these types of pictures, but they're supposed to be super tasteful and make you really comfortable.. but yeah I still couldn't do it. I'm too lumpy. lmao and then if any of my family ever found it omg

iffy bridesmaids help?
DramaticAnnie replied to JJ512's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I know where you're coming from, we tried to give everyone as much advance notice as possible so they could get the money together to go, and while I didn't really want to be putting deadlines on people, I'm starting to think I should.. In a situation where it's a bridesmaid and you want the same number of bridesmaids, but some of them are not committing, I think you're just going to have to sit down and talk to them or send an email basically saying look, I understand if you can't afford it and I would be super bummed if you couldn't go but I need to know.. because if you're going to ask someone else, for their sake you need that someone else to be able to have as much time to pay as possible too. And as for the one that wants a boat... if she can charter her own lol or pay for her own seperate different transportation, tell her to go for it... hopefully she's not on any do not fly list or anything like that ;s -
Wedding Party a Disaster!
DramaticAnnie replied to Tiffanya21's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
That's something to stick with, nobody is going to be happy about your wedding but you - and ultimately, if a MOH or BM or friend or family member is causing so much drama as to where you're not happy about something, then you should say right then and there, this is my wedding, and I want to be happy about it. Who wants to look back at this special day 20 years down the road and still harbour a little anger that this person was too diva about themselves not to make it or to try to upstage your dress or drop out of your day because you didn't give in to a particular demand or whatever. You can also try to think about if those things might even matter to you 20 years down the road.. Unfortunately I think way too many people just want the 'title' of being a bridesmaid without doing any of the work, even if that work is just being a supportive friend. -
Ceremony: These are the hands poem
DramaticAnnie replied to ErinB's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Awww these are so nice.. I have a quick ceremony that's limited to 15-20 mins max.. I'm going to have a hard time deciding what I want to include as part of the ceremony with all these great ideas.. -
engagement party gift etiquette
DramaticAnnie replied to popo28's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I agree. That's embarassing, having registry information for your engagement party. I never ever thought an engagement party to be something people bring gifts to, just more of a casual celebration kind of thing. Gifts at the shower, yes... I wouldnt even register for shower gifts but that's just me... people around here never register.. if I did it 95% of my guests wouldn't know what to do with it and just bring their own gift lol -
I haven't heard of that movie but I wanna see it too.. I am not a 'chocolate bride' but I saw a bride doing it on one of the TLC wedding shows, I think it was Four Weddings. Wouldn't the resort you're at be able to get a broom or maybe they already have a broom for this type of ceremony or at least a broom you could decorate? I mean I have heard of girls that went out and bought chair sashes and table runners, lanterns, stuff like that only to find out they already had that stuff at the resort.. so the least you could do is ask? Or even if they have something that you and your wedding party could decorate when you got there. I'm just trying to figure out how to pack a decorated broom into a suitcase, lol

Would you post on your website the cost?
DramaticAnnie replied to krsmith's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
When we first decided to do this, we still had over a year til the wedding. So we got prices, through my travel agent, from three different vacation companies that do the cruise lines, and once I picked the ship I wanted and the dates we could do, they got us quotes. We went with the cheapest one. Now, they can't do airfare right now but my travel agent, based on similar group trips she has done in the past and it is from here to Orlando, Flordia (so a common group destination), has guesstimated how much the airfare is going to cost. We estimated on the high range. My mom also always makes sure we buy travel insurance so we even told guests an estimate on how much that would cost per person - it is kind of overwhelming but we wanted to make sure people knew how much it would cost them in total - and then they'd have a year to pay it off, which they can make payments through the travel agent. It was kind of a pain in the butt for me when FI told his Best Man that the trip including airfare and everything would be X price for the best man and his fiancee, which did not include airfare and I kind of busted their bubble after they were psyched about going for that price by telling them wait... theres this.. and this... annnnd this... :s So I'm putting out save the dates only cause I want to and not cause I have to, since people are pretty much booking already... but I will be sending them to people who are still on the fence and a couple of my coworkers who I would really love to come along.. and I will have a section on there with our travel agents information, and probably give a general price based on double occupancy but if you have a family coming, please contact our travel agent, etc..
