Ashmagoo, Thanks for the info! I actually heard back from Phil last night through email. He was very informative and said that he usually will be in the DR 2 weeks out of every month during high season which includes April and May. He did say to call him after tomorrow and he will be back in the country to chat about his services. He seems to think he will be there the last two weeks of April next year! Yeah! Let me know if you hear anything. Have you booked at a resort yet?

Hi girls! I am looking at a mid April date, possibly around April 16th or 17th 2012. I am actually so in love with Phil's work that I would be willing to plan my date around his availabilty. Word on the forum is that he is down there a lot so it usually works out that he is there when you are needing him. That does make me nervous about Dreams saying no outside photogs as I am planning on being married at the new NOW Larimar, which is owned by the same company as Dreams.Would he be able to stay as a guest at the resort and take our photos? If anyone has any confirmation on this new policy I would love to know about it! Also I would be up for sharing Photophil time! Has anyone tried to contact him for pricing, availability? I have emailed him a couple times and haven't heard back... Thanks and congrats to everyone.

JB: Thanks for the info! I will look it up on facebook for sure, hadn't even thought about that. We are hoping for an April 17 or 18th wedding so we may be there at the same time! That would be crazy! We are very flexible so this may change at any time depending on prices and availability of resort. We want an late in the day wedding so it all depends on that. What time are you guys going with? I heard the other Now resorts only do 2 weddings a day, any idea if this is true? I love the idea of more intimate but it makes me nervous our week will be full before I even hear back from someone, ha ha! Have you started looking for a dress? Are you going with an outside photog? We really want Phil Steingard but haven't heard back from him either. To be honest, I am planning my day around when he can do my pics! His work is amazing and pictures are the most important to me. I hope to hear from him soon.Well, I better get back to work, will check back later.

MoniWoni, I didn't get the list! Do you mind sending it again? My email is [email protected] (that is a zero in front of 3). Your dress is amazing! I really love it. It will be beautiful. What kind of things go into a contract with a TA? I met with mine yesterday and she didn't seem to have any information I didn't already have. We are still looking at next April and she is saying the room prices will be around $160-200 per person per night. This is obviously higher than they are right now. Are you guys getting the same information on pricing? I just don't know if I should trust a TA or not. So confusing! She also said that air would be $600 to 700 even though now it is high and pricing isn't out that far in advance. That made me feel better.... She did say that the new wedding package info will be the same pricing and options as the Dreams resorts.She said resturant options will be similar to the NOW Jade.(which is amazing!) It is a bit easier to get the Dreams information right now, she said reception menus for a la carte would be identical to theirs. We are thinking we will wait until May to book our rooms after the switch. I STILL can't get an email or call back from anyone so looks like I have no options anyway. Is anyone worried about renovations/construction after the takeover? That is the one negative my TA mentioned. Good luck with planning!

Hey girls! Moni Woni, Congrats! What an exciting week for you. I am so happy you were able to book and make November work. I would love to see a pic of the dress too. I know exactly how you feel about flights being so expensive. Its past ridiculous. I will say that my DF and I travel a lot, and if we wait to book about 1-2 months out they are drastically lower. That is really hard to do though when it is your wedding! I want to have it all planned and ready to go now, not later, ha ha. It will all work out, and you are right that the cost of the resort balances out a bit. Could you send me the wedding package info too? I have some questions but am not hearing back from the wedding coordinator. For example, if we go with the basic wedding package (we don't want a true reception with dancing) can I add in a cocktail hour? My email is [email protected]. Thanks so much. JB: Yes, that is just for air! We of course can't know for sure because we are looking at April 2012 but my TA said that since they are booking flights out until Feb. 2012 now, that prices wouldn't be that different to April. Of course gas is outrageous now and may come down in the fall, so hopefully things will change.If I can hold out and watch prices we may be ok. Most of my family is flying from Kansas City and it is even more from there! It just stresses me because I don't want to comit to a resort if my guests can't afford airfare. I guess this is where I will have to trust that everything will end up ok, and be patient. It does make me feel better that your TA is quoting you those prices. I was hoping to keep it around 1500 a person for 6 nights. Where are you flying from? Have you booked the resort yet? Hey girls! I am feeling a bit worried...I know my wedding date is still a year away but flights to DR are sooooo expensive right now! I live in Denver and we are looking at around $800-$1000 per person. Is that what you all are experiencing? I really love the idea of having my wedding at the new NOW in Punta Cana but am worried about my guests paying outrageous amounts for plane tickets. Do you think they will go down? I don't meet with my TA till next week, she may have some insight but was just getting a feel for what other TA's may be saying. Also, Moniwoni and JB any luck on getting NOW to extend the introductory price for next year if we book now?

JB,thanks so much for the info. It looks soooo amazing there. I really hope everything works out and this is where we end up. I meet with my TA on April 6, she is going to put together some prices for various resorts to help me with my decision. Although I think it is already made....thanks again! I will keep you guys posted on where we end up!

Hey guys, My name is Amber and I am looking at getting married in the DR in April 2012. I think this resort may be my frontrunner, but as mentioned its hard to get info on the resort due to the transition in ownership. I have my TA looking into room rates and hope that the great specials will be given if we book ASAP. The brides on other posts seem to have had good luck at the Now resorts, this is promising! Hello, I am so happy so see some other brides interested in this resort! This is a top contender for my April 2012 wedding. I am a bit apprehensive as well at planning a wedding at a resort so soon after a takeover. Mostly because I can't seem to get any information! My TA is working on getting room prices and I too hope to get in on the great deals for next year. JB March, would you mind emailing me the wedding package info you have?
