  1. I'm still building ours, but we went with mywedding.com - picked it because it had the design I liked best and (so far) it's been easy to navigate for this tech-challenged girl
  2. We are going with coral, brown and white with light accents of starfish here & there...here's a few things that inspired me:
  3. I'll answer on her behalf since I recently did a site visit Yes! It's Cove Terrace that we see in her beautiful pics! It IS a great spot for smaller receptions and/or welcome dinners...it's also got an AMAZING view!
  4. Yaaay!! So happy to see the 2012 thread started! We are getting married April 21st, 2012 at Aventura Cove Palace! Save the Dates have been ordered - hope to have them out in the next few weeks, website nearly complete, just got my dress last weekend, and booked our photographer (Juan Jose/Del Sol)! I think I'll join you buttahfly2012 in a cocktail bc I think I can relax for a bit....but then again, it's so FUN to plan!!!
  5. Avens - I (truly) don't think you could go wrong with either!! Depending on your personal style/preference, the first one is definitely more simple/elegant....the latter is definitely bling (which I like!)...my vote is #2! Here's mine:
  6. Thanks krsmith! I looked at Rachel's work and LOVED her as well!! We ended up booking Juan Jose and couldn't be more excited to work with them - I love them too & think any bride would be lucky to have Del Sol or La Luna as photographers!
  7. Mufn93 - your dress is stunning!!! I love the lines in it and the shoulder detailing is modern, yet elegant
  8. All of them are beautiful, but I like #1 the best! Great design & flattering on your figure!
  9. Congrats and welcome! I'm in the early planning stages myself and this website has already been SO helpful!! Have you set a date or location?
  10. Congrats MissAnnette! I am getting married in April 2012, so in the early planning stages myself. What I CAN tell you is we did a site visit in Riviera Maya in March and loved all the resorts we visited, so I'm sure whichever you end up choosing will be great. Depending on your budget, if you want all inclusive, etc. you can narrow it down - this site is also really helpful (go to the Resort Reviews tab above if you haven't already). We had site visits at Aventura Cove Palace, Azul Sensatori, Playacar Palace, and Grand Velas. If you have the opportunity to do a site visit, I HIGHLY recommend a quick getaway, because while ALL of them were great, the order of preference we initially thought, ended up changing - ie. I was hesitant to even look at Aventura because it doesn't have a sandy beach - but it was a GORGEOUS property, they have a gazebo right on the ocean, and reception space on a rooftop overlooking the ocean - so we ended up choosing Aventura! Barcelo Maya & the Royal were another two we looked at....anyway, good luck and feel free to message me with any questions!
  11. We actually visited Playacar Palace during our site visit to ACP/ASP this past March - it's only about 15 min. from the resort and great to offer guests who want to play on the beach/in the ocean! It's right next to Senor Frogs and there were a lot of people playing volleball on the beach, drinking by the pool, etc...so I'd definitely recommend if you/you're guests want to go play for a day in a lively atmosphere! It's also really close to their golf/spa, for any golfers in the group (although the spa at ASP is MUCH better!). I went to Xel-Ha a few years back and loved it - they have the snorkeling, dolphin swimming, etc...I heard Xplor was great (and it IS close to the resort), but not sure about Xcaret. Hope this helps a bit - lemme know if you have any questions!
  12. My FI & I did a site visit at ACP/ASP in March and were blown away! It's such a beautiful spot, so to you ladies who haven't been and/or have booked with them 'blindly,' you won't regret!! We confirmed our date for April 21st, 2012 at 5pm!
  13. My wedding is April 21, 2012 - I've ordered my STDs and hope to have them mailed within the next few weeks to give my friends/fam plenty of time to plan and save...wasn't sure when to send out the invites, but from you ladies with April '12 dates, July-ish seems to be a good time
  14. Thank you!! Sooo happy to have found it...now the hardest part will be waiting a year to WEAR it!
  15. It's soooo pretty adales!! And you're an ACP bride too - yaay!
  16. Thanks! It's Simone Carvalli (style 7166) - I wanted a light/'airy' dress, but something with some bling! LOVE yours too - very elegant!
  17. Good to hear Meeshie!! Keep us posted!
  18. LOVE your slideshow!! Like all of Del Sol's work, Juan did a great job at capturing every moment! I was leaning toward another photographer for our 2012 wedding (because I was a little concerned about Del Sol's cost), but he's reasonably priced am thinking Juan may be the way to go! Thanks for sharing!
  19. I'm working on my Save the Dates now for my April 2012 wedding, but was wondering when to send out my invites so thanks ladies - this helped! I did hear from my TA that the usual RSVP time is 75 days before the wedding (so 2-3 months).

    2012 Bride

Thanks! And apologies for the delayed response - still learning how to navigate around here I have a friend that got married at MP - they loved it! We decided on Aventura Cove...
  22. I know it's overwhelming, but hang in there - you'll find that perfect spot! If you haven't already, try looking at Palace Resorts - beautiful properties and have really great group benefits! We are getting married at Aventura Cove Palace in April 2012, expecting about 40-50 ppl, and Palace just announced they're extending their current $1500 resort credit promotion (guests can use toward spa, golf, tours, etc.). Good luck!
