  1. So ladies, I have a question - I'd like to put 'Reception to follow' on my invites, but would some people mistake that for an indication that we'll be holding a reception when we get home? I know it's a stretch, but I could see a few people maybe thinking that....I thought of using 'Reception to immediately follow' but the word 'immediately' just seems a bit of a harsh word - lol, I know I'm overanalyzing, but would love your input or any alternate suggestions!
  2. Wow - beautiful pics!!! I'm sure your hubby will absolutely love!
  3. Kerrib - love love LOVE the back of the dress!! Beautiful gowns ladies!
  4. Hmm I hadn't thought about this yet either - thanks for the tips ladies!
  5. Lol....I HOPE not!! We were just there in March for our site visit and stayed on the Spa/adult side - definitely saw no topless women running around!
  6. My best friend was dating his best friend and we were introduced by the two of them. Three years later, they're broken up and we're walking down the aisle....with THEM in our wedding party! Lol, they're completely over it, but it still makes for an ironic scenario
  7. Yaay for the hospitality industry! I'm a Concierge at a 5 star hotel!

    Finally!

    Congrats and (officially) welcome!!
  12. Congrats Lindsey and welcome to the helpful (and oh-so-addicting) world of BDW!! You will LOVE the Riviera Maya! We are having ours at Aventura Cove Palace, but during our site visit in March we looked at several others in the area - though I didn't get to see any of the ones you listed, I'm sure you'll find the perfect one. As the bride above me mentioned, utilize this site for reviews (up in Vendor Reviews) or just through the search option and don't be afraid to ask PLENTY of questions during your visit to the resorts. Best of luck with planning!
  13. I am a Concierge for a 5-star hotel and after years of working many high-end weddings, I KNEW when it was my time to get married, I didn't want the big 'to do.' Too many weekends, I've seen so many stressed out families (yes, more so the families over the bride even), 100s of guests that the bride/groom probably haven't spoken to in awhile, and overall just the sense of it being more a production than a true celebration of love, life, family & friends. Granted, I think I see an extreme, and I'm sure as I get closer to the date there will be different stressors as well, but I wanted to minimize it by doing a DW. My FI and I love to travel, esp. to beaches, and are very laid back - so I don't think many of our friends/fam were surprised when we decided to go the DW route. Also, his family is from Kansas, mine from Texas so either way - SOMEONE's side would be getting on a plane, so we figured, why not fly to paradise?! Inevitably, some of our closest friends/fam won't be able to go, but it's what we want to do, so whether we have 10 or 100 ppl there, I have no doubt it'll be the best day!! Plus, I have YET to hear of one DW bride that regretted it!
  14. We are doing coral, brown, and white with starfish accents!
  15. You can tell you put so much time and love into all of it - and it looks amazing!!! Congrats and thanks for sharing!
