I know this thread is TOO quiet. I am so looking forward to our September wedding! Subbi lets hear about your wedding details! How many people are you having? What are your colors? At least we can be each other's support team for September wedding.

Murmel, thank you for the advice! Very well put that it is not about us, it is just that some people do not travel well. Especially my family who are very old fashioned and do not understand the "destination" wedding either. I am trying to not let these people put a rain on my parade so to speak. I know the day will be amazing and I can't wait to marry my best friend. Thanks for all the support and advice from one DW bride to another

Omigosh I am dreading getting the RSVP's back because I know it will be a lot more No's than I wanted. But at the same time, I am ok with people not going. I just wish my family were more supportive. I understand it is a lot of money to spend but at the same time I am the only granddaughter and thought that would be important to my grandparents, etc. I know that the wedding day will be amazing and I won't be wishing people were there. But it's just making for a lot more stressful wedding planning process than I had hoped for. But at least we can be each other support system.

Hi Maggie, Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. I guess for me the hardest part is that my FI's family (grandparents, aunts/uncles, friends & cousin's) are all being so supportive and have said they will be there no matter what. But my family & friends on the other handle, only a couple of them are coming and more have said it's too far & expensive to go. So I am struggling because I feel like my family isn't there for me like his is. I guess it's just kind of a wake-up call, I am grateful to have everyone there and excited to become part of his family. I just wish my family was making an effort the way his family was.

Hi Ladies, I have been traveling for work for 3 weeks and just getting a chance to catch up on all the Azul news! Congrats to all the ladies who have gotten married & are there now getting married, so exciting! We just sent out our invitations, they turned out beautiful and I couldn't be more happy with them. We booked our photographer, flying in from the states, and are excited to work with her on our wedding day. Still waiting on the final number of guests but anticipating between 30-40 people. On a personal note, I am dealing with some difficult Grandparents, my grandma & grandpa (on both sides) have told me they won't be coming because they don't want to do all the traveling. They are only 70, so I thought this was a little shocking but not much I can do about it. Any advice on how to handle people who are important and don't want to take the "trouble" to travel for the wedding? Also, wondering if any ladies who have already gotten married at Azul would want to share hanging lights & lanterns? Getting married at Zavas. Thanks

How long after the DW should the AHR be?
justiner57 replied to amandasalways's topic in At Home Reception (AHR)
Hi Ladies, I have a question about the AHR.... we have family all across the country and I know that not everyone will be making the wedding ceremony. And I can't decide where to have the wedding reception. We live in CA, have family here, AZ and NJ. I feel like whichever place we choose that people still won't want to travel that far for it. Any suggestions? Also, anyone know a good place in any of those cities to have to AHR.... -

Thanks Sharon! Let's see a picture of your dress? Where are you getting married?? -
Hi Popo, Yes I am using a wedding planning website and doing exactly what you are doing. It makes it a lot easier to communicate with the people exactly what you want! Congrats on reserving you date that's very exciting! Any brides that are getting married before September with the color blush/rose pink as a theme? I am looking to buy products (lanters, chair sashes, table runners, etc.) from someone instead of renting from them. Let me know

Show us your wedding dress!
justiner57 replied to Jennifer's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Hi Ladies, Thought I would share a picture of my wedding dress, which I'm completely in love with. It needs to be altered and have some of the train taken out but I think its perfect. Maybe a little much for a DW but were not doing in on the beach were doing a rooftop overlooking the ocean so I think it can still be dressy xoxo Justine H -
Any Brides getting married near Cancun/Riviera Maya mexico would be interested in sharing a photographer? I've been told that this can save a TON of money by booking them in the same week or near the same days... any thoughts?!

** Coupon + Discount Sharing Thread **
justiner57 replied to RaydensMama's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
Yay! I have been called the coupon queen. I think you can find alot by simply typing the company or website name into Google with the word coupon next to it. I did this with our unique wedding stationary website and found one for 15% off randomly! And it worked As soon as I know more I will post. Also, generally some websites will give you free shipping if you type FREESHIP or freeship during checkout. -

Thanks for sharing Jaime! I will definitely have to get in contact with him. His pictures on the website look amazing. Where is your wedding? Are they trying to charge you an outside vendor fee? -

Teira's Planning Thread!!!! Long & pic heavy!
justiner57 replied to Teira1031's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
Teira, WOW so impressed! You go girl, your an inspiring Bride for us all. Made me want to go to the nearest arts & craft store to pick up fun projects to do. I tried opening the doc for the menu template but it wouldn't let me. Could you send me a message with the template in it? Also, where did you buy the paper from? It looks amazing, I love how shimmery it is -
I love your date! I wanted that date so bad, but just worked out better to do weekend before so family & friends didn't have to take off work

Hello Ladies, We are September 4th at Azul Sensatori Resort in Riviera Maya <3

I totally agree with you. I actually got referred this website by another Bride that got married in Cabo and she said they were fantastic. And the advertising on home page makes them look like a very reputable company. So far my DW TA has been great. I too have had some problems from 2 guest's saying they emailed her and never got a response. So I let her know that 2 of my guests said they tried emailing her and she was sooo apologetic and made sure to contact them right away. She also spent an hour on the phone with my Aunt who was concerned about bringing her little kids to Mexico right now. I mean I guess it just depends on who your TA is, I have a girl named Brittany and I love her. I think she is fabulous and I would recommend her to anyone because she has tried everything she can to get the prices down for me. I'm sorry to hear some of the other ladies have had bad experiences. I'm sure your weddings will turn out beautiful regardless

We have also decided to do the marriage license here and just do a symbolic ceremony in Mexico. I am afraid that some of my guests (future in-laws) would be mad if they knew they were flying all the way to Mexico and it wasn't a "legal" ceremony. So we are not telling a sole either. I think we are going to do it the day before we leave for Mexico, like many of the other Brides. As far as the date is concerned, I'm struggling what to do. Since no one will know that we got married before our wedding celebration in Mexico, I don't want to celebrate a different date. But we haven't completely made that decision yet. I would rather that everyone be on the same page and us use our date of the symbolic ceremony in Mexico as our "date."

I had MOH issue's too. But mine were different, she told me she couldn't afford to go at ALL. I offered to put her flight on my credit card so she would just have to pay for hotel portion and she still said no. Quite sad because I have known her since I was 2 and there wasn't anyone else I had in mind. Decided to ask my Future sister in law to avoid conflicts with other girl friends. I do have one question though: what to do if a bridesmaid says she cant afford to go? I have another bridesmaid who is telling me she might not be able to go. I mean my wedding is in 160 days and I need to know how long I should wait on her before its too late. She is in college, as are most of my friends, so I understand they all have a small budget. But I've give then almost a year's notice and even offered to help 2 girls out. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks

Hi Ladies, I know something that will work for everyone is you seriously want to work HARD. Try the INSANITY workouts by Shaun T Fitness / Beachbody. I did it last summer, not routinely, and lost 10 lbs. Of course you have to do so while eating healthy and everything. But I am telling you I was TONED. I am going to do again this summer before my wedding in September. But I have to warn you, his workouts are INTENSE. I mean like I've been a competitive athlete my entire life and I struggled with his. But the results are totally worth it Let me know if you have any questions. I would check Amazon for his DVD's.

I know right Jaime! HUGE relief!!! Was looking through your album and the pictures of the resort are amazing... We didn't visit in person so our first experience will be when we are there for our wedding soooo exciting! TLGnchi - your before & after pictures are amazing! You really worked it out girl What type of workout schedule did you have? How far in advance did you start? I am going to be traveling for work the next 3 months. So will only have 8 weeks before the wedding to kick my butt into shape. I'm not too worried about it because I just need to tone up! But seriously you should be proud of yourself!!
