  1. Finally all my girls ordered their dresses! Choose the "rose petal" pink color from David's Bridal, I think its such a beautiful pink! But scary part is that the dresses are coming in 5 days before we leave for Mexico, so not much time for the girls to get fitted. Luckily my mom is a great seamstress, so if anything really needs fixing she can help out in Mexico.... not too worried. Feeling pretty good about stuff that I have accomplished so far: 1.) Bridesmaid dresses 2.) Ordered cake topper - swaroski crystal pink "K" 3.) Ordered garter with blue crystals for the "something blue" 4.) Ordered a "Bride" hanger to hang my dress from 5.) Destination photographer is booked + TTD 6.) Music list is pretty much done 7.) Seating chart is in the works 8.) Gong to JCrew to figure out FI suit for the wedding 9.) Flowers & Centerpiece's are picked 10.) Working on ceremony wording - if anyone has a sample of what they used at their wedding I would GREATLY appreciate it 11.) Bridal shoes are ordered Things I still need to do: 1.) Order paper for menu's, programs & place cards 2.) Figure out if I'm wearing a viel 3.) Groomsmen attire 4.) OOT bags - still debating on this 5.) Welcome letter 6.) Favors 7.) BM/GM gifts 8.) Decide on hair for the day of Is there anything I'm missing?! It's early and my brain can't think of anything else right now...
  2. Tisha wow these pictures are amazing! I absolutely love them, I'm so happy you wore your actual dress. It looks so great, I was debating between wearing mine and buying a cheaper dress to trash haha. But you totally just confirmed that I will definitely be wearing mine. Just curious, how was the dress after the shoot? Was it completely ruined?
  3. Thank you for such a detailed review! I am happy to hear that you had a fabulous time, but I agree I would totally be bummed if my sister had that experience. I have a feeling that once I get down there I won't really be stressing and feel like everything will just fall into place. I'm sorry to hear about the cupcakes, that is a huge bummer but hopefully they will reimburse for this. I would love to see pictures from your wedding, do you have an account or anything set up?
  4. Jaime that is a great idea!! Are the prices for the 3 different services around the same? I think my girls would really like that too!
  5. Hi Ladies, So I have a question for all you past brides. Some of my bridesmaids have been asking me about hair & make-up day of the wedding. I contacted the WC onsite and she said it was $86 a person just to get their hair done, which I think it outrageous! It doesn't matter to me about them getting their hair & make-up done, but I know some of the girls want to get it done. Am I expected to pay for this? Obviously if I pay for one person I have to pay for everyone, but I was hoping someone knew a way to bring down the cost or any suggestions? I was thinking of getting my hair & make-up done on the day of the wedding, although I don't really like wearing make-up so I'm sure she will put too much on me lol.
  6. I've attached the color board that shows my colors for the wedding. Ironically I gave my fiance the choice between gold and maroon or gold and pink and he actually chose pink. I think these colors are so beautiful and elegant together. Our BM will be wearing blush pink and the groomsmen will wear tan and pink! We are doing stargazer lilies instead of cala lilies to save money, although I would prefer cala lilies
  7. I absolutely love your colors, they are gorgeous together! Great choice!! I will attach my theme idea too
  8. If you don't mind me asking, how much did they quote you? We just booked the DJ through lomas travel but it seems quite expensive for 4 hours....
  9. The weather was a huge issue for me in the beginning. My WC had said that the weather in September should be fine & even if it does rain it would be for like 20 minutes in the afternoon then it would be over. I'm not too worried about it because I spoke with my WC onsite and we chose back up locations in case the weather is bad we would move everything inside. Which of course I would not want but you can't control weather no matter where you are. The forecast said it was going to rain for William & Kate's wedding and it turned out to be a beautiful day So let's all just stay positive XOXO
  10. How many did you send out? You might be surprised.... we've have a lot of stress & drama over our "destination" wedding but it's looking like we are going to have about 40-45 people coming, which is much higher than I originally thought! So think positive xoxo
  11. Karla these both look great. I have the same idea about buying the bags and doing the Iron on trasnfer's. What color pink ribbon are you using on the fans and how many do you have? Would you be interesting in selling just the fans with the ribbon to me after your wedding? Our color is pink as well
  12. Jessie great idea! Thanks for the info and please let me know what the quote is..
  13. Hi Ladies, I know people have asked probably all the questions I am going to ask but here are the things I need help finding websites for! If any of you ladies could send what you used/bought that would be great. 1) OOT bags, looking for something I can iron on our logo too - preferably cloth 2) reception decor - the hanging laterns / strand lights 3) chair bows & table cloths 4) card stock to print menu & programs on I would great appreciate any help XOXO
  14. We are also having a rehearsal dinner mostly because it is included in our wedding package. And secondly because all of our guests are from all over the place, but we are keeping this to people in the wedding & immediate family. I know how you feel about excluding people but at the same time it is your wedding and it will make the people in the wedding feel more included I think to be invited to the rehearsal dinner, maybe you can go over who is walking when, etc.....
  15. Welcome caboose! You are the day before my wedding, but were at Azul Sensatori! What are your wedding colors? I'm so happy someone else is right around labor day too... are you concerned at all about weather? I'm not but I've heard mixed things about weather during this time. I also am a no fuss bride, minus family drama lol

  17. WOw your photos are amazing!! I love the tan suit your husband is wearing, where did he get it from? We have been going back and forth between black or tan for my FI to wear on the wedding day, but I'm totally LOVING the tan! My dress is similar to yours and I think the dan looks great
  18. Past Brides, what are the thoughts on veils? I keep going back and forth whether I want one or not. I am getting married on the SKY terrace and know AZUL can be windy? Is it worth it or will it blow all over the place??
  19. Kabee, I tried the same thing, unfortunately I found that most bridal stores are very strict about the deposit. I would sit down and really think about weather you want to eat the $250 or not, because I can tell you that they won't give you the deposit back. I know soooo many brides that have been in this situation before.... you can tell them anything you want and they won't care How much is the new dress? Is $250 a decent portion of it or small portion? Try to budget it see if you can save the $250 somewhere else so it will even out!
  20. Yay that's soooo exciting, lets see a picture I will be looking at bands in 2 weeks, my MIL owns a jewelry store so she is getting a collection together for me to look at and choose from. SOOOO excited. Ladies question about the BM gifts..... I have a friend who works at coach and can get a good deal there. I am thinking of getting all the girls cute gold starfish earrings, which would be in my budget. But this would pretty much be the only thing I could afford... Or I could get them all something individual which I was thinking..... thoughts? All matching so no one feels more special or individual/personal?
  21. Ladies would anyone be willing to sell their veil? I have finally decided I would like to have a veil but not willing to spend like $200 on it.... if so PM me with a picture and what your price is. My dress is ivory/satin so looking for something within this coloring. Thanks
  22. Thanks for the advice ladies! Totally will bring on the plane no matter what
  23. Ladies, I am wondering how all of you transported your dresses to Mexico? I know shipping is not an option, could you imagine if the dress was lost? So I'm thinking of carrying on the airplane but don't want it to get smushed and wrinkled. What did you past ladies do (Trish, Murmel & Jaime)? Any words of advice for what to NOT do
  24. OMG Melissa your invitations are FABULOUS!!! They look like you put sooo much time & effort into them. Great job girl! I know your family and friends will just love them <3
  25. Subbi, I love your center piece idea & think the nautical theme is super cute. Especially if you are doing the white chairs in the picture too. I personally am not bringing my own centerpieces because my FI hates fake flowers, so there goes that idea. I also prefer the thought of real flowers, even though we are on a budget. A suggestion to you all is.... I had a friend get married in Cabo 2 summer's ago. Her mom went into a local market the morning of the wedding and was able to big in bulk flowers for VERY inexpensive. She then put together bouquets and center pieces for the wedding and they turned out really cute. If any of you are looking to save so money & have crafty friends/mom this might not be a bad idea
