  1. Hey Ladies, I just got back from Azul Sensatori two nights ago and I don't really have words for how AMAZING the entire experience was. The weather was FABULOUS, thank god. I was nervous the whole time before getting there and it didn't rain once. The only thing was that is was very WINDY and very HUMIND but otherwise amazing. We danced every night at the Mojito bar until like 1am. Our wedding day was perfect and Yazmin (senior wedding coordinator), Isarel (wedding coordinator) were great. They really do everything to accommodate you. We had our ceremony on the SKY wedding deck which was beautiful. We decided to move out reception inside because its was too humid outside to have it at the Zavaz Plaza, I didn't want to make our guests dance and be miserable. But seriously you are all doing the right thing by choosing this resort. I will make sure to leave a detailed post about restaurants and such in a the next couple days. In the mean time, here are some pictures
  2. Thanks Kerry, very helpful! We leave tomorrow at 4pm for Mexico :-D Sooo very excited I wanted to share this super cute blog I found with all you ladies. And thank you so much for all your help and advice thus far in planning. http://www.glamour.com/weddings/blogs/save-the-date/2011/08/real-wedding-album-barbie-ken.html?fb_ref=sharebar_fb&fb_source=home_multiline
  3. I totally agree Subbi!! We leave tomorrow afternoon, getting married on Sunday! My FI and I are closer than ever right now! Both very excited :-D
  4. Jessie, your invitations looks great! Must feel so good to have those out of the way Ladies, I'm less than a week away!!! Feel like I hit a wall and can't think of anything else left to do. Anyone have a final check list that I can make sure to go over before leaving? I'm afraid I'm going to forget something....
  5. Ladies were all so close! I'm one week from yesterday! So excited but still feel like I have so much to do I know it will all come together once I'm down there!
  6. Hi Ladies, so much to fill you in on. Just got back from my bachelorette party in Vegas, it was fabulous! We had 5 girls go and had a total blast, felt like a girly weekend all the way. Went out friday but drink way to much so had to make up for it Saturday night by dancing the night away until 5am..... yes Vanity is open that late. Here are a few sneak peak's from the weekend, trust me you don't want to see all the pictures lol
  7. Just got back from my Bachelorette weekend in Vegas, pretty amazing! The weather was perfect and we all had such a great time. Here are a few highlight pics, trust me you don't want to see all of them hahaha. First night we got a little too drunk, who doesn't on their bachelorette party and made it to marquee club for like 30 mins! Haha but made up for it the second night at Vanity danced the night away until 5am! Priceless
  8. Ok, here is my advice. First, let your WC both on site and not that you want your ceremony to look AS LEGAL AS POSSIBLE! THis is what we are doing, meaning we don't want ANYONE to know that we aren't getting legally married there. We are signing the marriage certificate down there. Tell his mom that you are keeping those details between the two of you and that you are CELEBRATING your wedding down in Mexico. I would just explain to her that you haven't made up your mind yet and that you will most likely do everything do there, then change the subject lol.
  9. no problem.... just sent you an email!
  10. Any ladies who brought their own sheers for the gazebo? What fabric did you get, I'm confused whether to get tulle or just sheer fabric? Also, if anyone has ivory color sheers I would love to buy from you
  11. Haha it is a "secret". Only on friend who was the witness knew. Took FOREVER though, we waited at the courthouse on line almost an hour. But it's done and now we can REALLY get excited for our WEDDING DAY! 17 days to go AHHH
  12. Ladies, today is the day we are going to the court house to legally sign our marriage license. We are both a little nervous as we don't really know what to expect and wish that we could just do it all the same day down in Mexico. But none the less we are excited, not doing anything crazy or even taking pictures. We want our wedding day to be the day we celebrate and make everything official in our minds
  13. Started packing last night.... oh boy! This is going to be a lot of luggage. We leave 2 weeks from tomorrow, are getting "legally" married on Thursday and I have my bachelorette party this weekend !! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. Congrats to all the newbie girls who have just booked their dates, that is so exciting! I will be sure to share all my pics/reviews with you all as soon as I'm back. My FI is going to get his suit fitted today. It's starting to actually feel real and yet I'm a little nervous about how everything is going to look together. I've gotten so many things from different places/websites and am trying to tie it all in together. Fingers crossed!!! Oh and my dress is DONE! Just in time, it's finished and I can't wait to wear it on my wedding day
  14. Ugh, I did the opposite, I added things to my plate lol!! I have a welcome letter, short but sweet I can send to you if you want, whats your email address? Also, we did a list for the DJ but gave him a decent list of songs and told him he could play the rest.... it's so risky trusting a DJ I feel like! XOXO
  15. Ahhh these pictures are getting me soooo excited!!! My Bachelorette party is this weekend in VEGAS!!!!! Can't wait, we have 5 girls going, small but good group LOVEEEE your Bride pimp cup, super cute and the tanks are also adorable!!!! Congrats
  16. Thanks to Miriam & Mwise for all your input about the wedding cakes! We have sinced gone down about 6 people for the ceremony... and know that everyone won't have cake since we're doing Churros for dessert as well. We are going to scale down the size of the cake as well to save some extra money we need right before the big day. Miriam, what flavors was your cake? I've heard through the grapevine that the Strawberry flavor is pretty good, although I think risky. I love chocolate & Hazelnut so was thinking of doing that but would love feedback on past brides about which flavors worked for you!
  17. Ladies... 25 Days to go! This is crazy, I just now decided to do welcome bags... I know I'm insane! Origianlly didn't want to do it because not everyone was staying at the resort, now it looks like the majority of people are. Going to include: kookie, chap stick, spanish for dummies travel edition and maybe a small bottle of water (not sure on the last one). Also, we have decided to do beach olympics on the Saturday before our wedding, we are both very competitive and athletic, as are most of our guests. I think this will be a fun way for everyone to get to know each other and have fun in the sun! PS - if you ask your onsite wedding coordinator, they should be able to arrange beach olympics for a private group for like $100! It's awesome
  18. Thanks for the insight Laura! I was looking on a live webcam from Cancun today, the forecast said rain and what do you know when I looked on the webcam but bright & sunny! So that totally put me at ease. Thanks for all the input ladies, I won't let the weather "rain on my parade" so to speak lol
  19. Ladies, so today is exactly ONE MONTH until we get married! And I'm starting to freak out a little bit... I went to weather.com to look up the forecast today to get an idea of what the weather will be like next month. And what do I see the THUNDERSTORMS everyday for the next 2 weeks!!!! I know there are a couple of you who have been to Mexico during the month of September... any words of advice? how was your experience! I'm trying not to freak out, but I mean AHHHH
  20. I am going to bring my own sheers. If you go to Joann's Fabrics, or another store you can probably get the sheers for about 50 dollars, maybe more depends on the type of fabric and bring it down with you.... much less expensive!
  21. I am doing the sheers criss crossed across the top, just ivory and I'm doing 2 pink lilies hanging corsage. We are then going to use those as centerpieces for the cake table and the sweetheart table. My mom is adding gold beading to the sheer's, so they are going to look beautiful I can't wait. I just got the rope lighting in yesterday and they look awesome, there going to be easy to travel with also! Ya, I ordered the 12" rope lighting - they just told me the poles were right under 10"
  22. Ya, we're doing the same thing but no one is knowing but the two of us. We are legally getting married here in the US, it's much simpler and no one will know that our Mexico wedding isn't official. We are simply doing all the legal documents here but doing the ceremony & reception in Mexico. We are going to celebrate our official wedding date on the day we celebrate it in Mexico, no the legal one because it's just documents to us. The emotion and connection will be with our wedding on September 4th
