I'm really surprised to hear this, because when I asked Chandlyn in March she advised that there are no vendor fees or guest passes required! This must have been a more recent change! I hate that you have to stay so on top of them!!! -

Congrats Keritz! Your photos are beautiful! Looks like you had an amazing day! Its nice to hear that everything can be beautiful without hauling a ton of stuff with you! We're still 7 months away and I keep accumulating stuff! I think I just need to stop buying things and count on the fact that it will be beautiful with or without additional decor! What did you think of the minister? Did you write your own ceremony or let them use their own? Did you bother to notarize your BC and passport? It seems that most people haven't, but I just want to make sure we get a marriage license after this! Thanks Keritz and congrats again! -

Thanks Steph and Leah! The short one is from Bari Jay! My BMs loved it the moment they put it on, and they are surprisingly affordable! Definitely worth a look! Good luck with your selection! -

I was thinking $100 for the WCs, $20-30 per member of the band, $20-25 per waiter, $50 for the bartender and DJ (we're doing a gazebo reception). I wasn't going to tip the minister as he's already getting $200 for a 20min ceremony, but I guess its worth considering seeing as people have nothing but very positive things to say about him. Is that on par with what others are doing? -
$1 flip flops at OLD NAVY!!!

They are $1 in Canada...today only! -
The sale is in stores only in Canada and the US. Its not available online. Stores open at 7am and you can get 5 per person. Apparently they're not going to honour 5 per purchase...so they won't let you line up again. That being said if the store is busy and they don't remember you, I think its fair game! I've got a group going for opening tomorrow, so should be all set! Last year I went at 11am, and they had TONS of girls of all colours and sizes but not a single pair for guys! I think they just have less stock overall! So if you're buying for guys as well, I would suggest getting them first!

Show us your wedding dress!

This one is shockingly light! It looks super heavy, but is a thin crepe fabric! Nothing like a heavy 40lb satin dress! Was so surprised how comfy and light it was once I got it on! I hear ya ladies...with the sand and sun, something light is key! -

Wow, thanks guys! I have had it in the closet of my parents house so I haven't physically seen it in ages. Since posting the pic and looking at the many beautiful dresses on here, I was kinda second guessing my fast decision! Thanks a bunch for the reassurance! I intially loved that it had different elements, but that the base of it was still so classic! Guess I should stick to my gut! -
Steel Band for Ceremony - Song Suggestions!

Hey all...I was having the same debate until I found this link! It doesn't have everything, but its got a decent variety and gives you and idea of what it would sound like on kettle drums! We're hoping to use Pachabel's Cannon in D for the wedding party, the bridal march for me, can't help falling in love for the signing! -

I figured its about time I post a pic of my dress! I've had it since a week after I got engaged! lol! When I went shopping I was looking for: a sweetheart neck, one shoulder, a beaded belt and a dropped waist! I never thought I would find all of that in one dress! But I did! And its surprisingly light! I don't have a pic of me wearing it as I have a resourceful FI, but here's the add photo! Would love to hear opinions! -

Congrats on your beautiful wedding Missy!!! Your pics look fabulous and it definitely looks like you enjoyed your time there! Thanks a bunch for all of the tips! Its great to hear all of the good things, but its nice to hear some of the things that could be worked on as well! I think all of us expect this perfect day, and although the day may very well work out beautifully in the end, this puts it in perspective. With all of the talk about people using their ipods for music, I would never have thought that they didn't have the connector cord! Good to know! I have to admit I'm surprised that they had closed one of the restaurants the night of your wedding! That would be disappointing! Especially considering I've already listed the restaurant and time on my website and invites as they confirmed it when I first booked the wedding. All that being said, I knew from the beginning that it would be important to be flexible with a destination wedding...especially one that will run on island time! Sounds like you took it all with a grain of salt and made the most of it! Good for you! -

Thanks Val! I appreciate the info! The only email they gave me was: [email protected]. We are already booked for our all inclusive stay through our travel agent for a one week stay at the resort. I'm not trying to put a deposit on a block, just trying to ensure that we're all assigned rooms in the same section. Does Karelia only arrange the initial block of rooms, or can she coordinate post booking? If you have Karelia's email that would be fabulous! Its likely worth a shot, as I'm not getting anywhere the other way! Thanks so much! -

Just wondering if anyone got in touch with the resort in advance to try to get all of their group booked into one section of the resort? I know the resort it huge, so I just don't want to be on the other side of the resort from my bridal party! I'd read on here previously, that a lot of people were requesting that their group all be in section 23 as it is a newer section, and then they would all be close together. I had asked Donnalee about this who said it shouldn't be a problem and had given me the email for the front desk manager. Problem being, I have emailed them twice over the last 3 weeks and have never heard back. Has anyone else dealt with this differently? -
Wedding Linens Direct (aka Pouch World Inc) is AWESOME!
BusyBee123 replied to KJT1985's topic in Bride Referrals
I ordered the organza sashes a few weeks ago and they're perfect. They are the exact coral colour I was looking for! I couldn't be happier with them! That being said, I had a really hard time dealing with this company. They kept rejecting our order as they said that our credit card address did not match the mailing address we submitted. I called several times and they kept telling me there was nothing they could do to help us and we would have to buy them elsewhere. Talk about poor customer service. Turns out their system could not process our order because the way you input your address put our unit number at then end of our mailing address, not at the beginning! So that apparently made our address incorrect! Thankfully I figured this out by trial and error! So if you live in a condo or apartment, make sure your unit number is in the right spot! -

We're taking all of our guests on the Island Vibes Irie Cruise to Dunn's River Falls. We did the cruise on a previous trip and loved it! The total time is about 4hrs, and it runs most days of the week. It includes the transfer to and from Ochos Rios, catamaran ride to snorkel, ~ 30min of snorkeling (equipment included), catamaran to Dunn's River, Dunn's River admission and climb, then party cruise back. The best thing about this one is that it includes hors d'hoeuvres, snacks, sandwiches and premium liquors. Its $70USD per person. -

Thanks for all of the information lsmith! We booked the gazebo for our group as well! Can you just clarify the total cost of the gazebo reception. When I spoke to Donnalee she said $500 + $22/person for the bartender. I was just confused by the mention of the extra $250 to set up? Is this included in the $500 or separate? This awful DJ is really disappointing! I've heard this a few times, so it must be true! I was kinda hoping it was just a few people with different taste in music, but I keep hearing the same. If you asked him to play particular songs, would he? Does he have a bunch of music that you can pick from? I'm really not tech savy and don't even own an ipod, so I was hoping to avoid making my own wedding playlist! Do you have any suggestions? I guess if all else fails, maybe I can get the bridal party to start putting something together....
