Hey everyone! I'm getting married on November 11, 2011 at the Gran Bahia Prinicpe Punta Cana! I made my own Save the Dates and sent them out in January and now I'm trying to figure out when to send my invitations! LOL

I seem to be the odd one out... I have 3 bridesmaids and I am paying for their dresses. They are $200 each. This is my gift to them. I might make them pay for alterations though...haven't decided. It is actually really only a North American tradition where the bridesmaids pay for their dresses - in other places, like in Europe, the bride pays for the bridesmaid dresses. I have no problem doing this. I mean, they are spending $1385 to come to our wedding. Yes, they would be paying for their dresses had the wedding been here, but it would never have accumulated to the amount they are paying to come to our wedding.

We are getting married in Dominican Republic. I am Italian and it is pretty standard for us to have these BIG ellaborate weddings. My FI doesn't have any family - dad has never been involved in his life and his mom passed away about 8 years ago. I told my parents it wouldn't be fair to have this huge wedding just for our family. I told them I wanted a DW. They were a little annoyed but I started showing them all the things you could do there and how it really does look like any other wedding just with a beautiful beach in the background lol, they came around!
