The rule in our house was that you could not come home engaged until you were 25. We got engaged one month after my 25th birthday, even though both my parents have passed. 22. Who to invite - practically everyone or a select few? Only family and close friends. 23. Wedding menu - Pub Food. Seriously. 24. Champagne or red wine? Red Wine and Beer 25. Honeymoon right after the wedding, awhile after the wedding, or no honeymoon? We are getting married in Vegas to combine our wedding and honeymoon 26. Was your/will your honeymoon be at a place special to you both or somewhere brand new to you both? Someplace brand new! 27. Who will pay for the bills? My FI and I 28. Living together: Not before marriage or absolutely before marriage? Absolutely before marriage. I think it would be crazy to get married before living together! 29. Anything else about marriage you'd like to say? Planning is WAYYYY more stressful than I thought it would be, but it is sooo worth it!

Yeah, definitely cycle related. I have a really hard time losing weight when I weigh in the week prior, but I tend to post a pretty big loss the week after. Try to track it and see if there is a pattern. If there is, just attribute it to nature and stay positive

My first thought was water retention, depending on where you are on your cycle. Are you still measuring/weighing everything? I tend not to lose when I get a little lazy and eyeball things.

I was SO sure that I was going to order a knock off dress from China as there is no way that a Stephanie James Couture Dress is in our budget and I've seen some on this thread that have turned out beautifully. Well, I went to try on some dresses yesterday and LOVED this After Six bridesmaid dress: http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/6553/?color=white&colorid=122 (with the band in white as well). It's not much more expensive than ordering from China and it will be exactly the look I'm wanting to achieve (Vintage 1950s) once I add crinoline underneath! For the assurance of quality workmanship and material, I decided this route was better for me. Good luck on finding your dream dresses!

I completely agree that it is easier to take in a dress than let it out; however, I've been doing WeightWatchers for five months and have lost over 35lbs. I'm not just planning on losing some weight, I am dedicated and will be continuing my new, healthy lifestyle. In this situation, I do know that I'll be much smaller by my wedding date.

Hi! I haven't decided what I want to do just yet, but I'm leaning towards taking an inch of my current measurements. I know that it will still need to be taken in a lot, but it will at least be a little bit less! I'm going to try on some dresses this weekend and will ask someone in the Bridal Salon what they think (without mentioning that I'm buying a knock-off, of course)

Hi everyone! My FI and I were engaged in July 2010. I began planning for our DW of sorts in September. We live in Ontario and were planning to wed in Vieux-Port, Montreal. Unfortunately, I was laid off in October due to low enrollment (ah, the joys of teaching at a Private School) which made our plans impossible. Anyway, last weekend, we booked our LAS VEGAS wedding for October, 2011! Woot! The best part is that we can combine our wedding and honeymoon and pay WAY less than we would in our hometown. We are really excited! I'm just starting to plan now, so needless to say, I am thrilled to have found this site!

Sorry if this has already been posted! Last weekend, FI and I booked our wedding in Las Vegas for October 8, 2011. This is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada, so our hope is that guests won't have to use much vacation time if they want to jet down for our wedding. We know that having a DW means that many of our friends and family won't be able to attend and we're okay with that (we do plan on having a reception of sorts after we return though). We are telling FI's parents tomorrow. I'm (somewhat unrealistically) thinking that his Mom is going to cry and that his Dad is going to yell. Although his Mom previously stated that it would be too hard for everyone to attend a wedding down south, we just can't afford to get married in our hometown. We are paying for our own wedding and after many lengthy discussions have decided Vegas was for us. My questions for you are: How did you break it to your parents that you were having a DW? How did you respond to family members who didn't support your decision? Thanks!

I am 25 and my FI is 3 years older than I am. We dated a little in High School and the age difference seemed huge then (which contributed to our break up). We tried dating again when I was 19 and the rest is history!

Hey ladies! Congrats on your weight loss thus far! I joined WW in October and have lost 33lbs. I've been slacking since Christmas, so my weight loss has been slow but steady since then. We booked our October wedding in Las Vegas last weekend, so it's time to re-commit and get losing again! Good luck on all of your weigh-ins this week!

Heya! I have spent the last two days reading this entire thread (thank you, March Break!) and I love the dresses!! I know that I am for sure going to be buying a knock off for my ceremony dress. My FI and I are getting married in Vegas in October. We are paying for our wedding by ourselves and really don't want to spend a ton of money on one day. To be honest, I'd much rather put that kind of money toward my new kitchen! Anyway, I was wondering how early everyone purchased their dresses. I have a little bit of a dilemma. Although I know that you shouldn't purchase a smaller dress with the hope of fitting into it at a later date, I'm currently losing weight. I have lost 35lbs and numerous inches in the last few months and know that this will continue until October. My gut is telling me to go get my measurements taken and take off two inches, but I'm still not sure. Even with taking off that amount, I would still have to have it significantly altered closer to the date. Gah. What would you do if you were in my position?
