  1. Stefkva, of course there is always a possibility that guests could experience motion sickness. However, we plan to tell them about the cruise before we go, so they can stock up on medicine if they desire. I am also hoping that by just going around a bit at sunset rather than having to travel to a specific destination, ie coral, that they will know where the water is more calm. We'll see I guess!
  2. I would love some alone time with my new husband! Unfortunately there is no way around this for us because our 21 month old son will be there. We are hopefully planning a few days somewhere during the summer, so we can get that time. I would think for you the only way to be truly alone is to leave the resort, wether for the day or moving somewhere else entirely. You are not going to be able to just ignore your guests if you see them around, you know? That's strange.
  3. I had replied somewhere earlier in this thread that we were thinking about doing it, we booked it in last week! I am excited! I am hoping to get some cool shots around the town,I know they are not the usual beach shots but they have been some of my favourites.
  4. FI is getting white gold. He liked that he would be able to get it sized later on if he needed to. I would have loved to get something cheaper, but I guess I can't complain given how much we spent on my rings!
  5. This is helpful! I am going to print it out and tweak as neccessary. I need to be really on top of things because not only am I packing the stuff for myself and the wedding, but I have to pack up all the stuff for my son too!
  6. We booked LaLuna for 6 hours on the wedding day and a TTD session 2 days later. Not cheap, but photography is one of the most important things to me.
  7. Hi ladies! Just thought I would pop in and say hello. Anyone else in Montreal around here? Or having a wedding at the Now Sapphire?
  8. Hi ladies! Haven't been on in awhile, I was not doing much for the wedding until after Christmas when I realized that it was coming up really quick! Now it's only 8 weeks until we leave - eek! Is anyone else having a small group? We will only be 21, maybe 22. I am just trying to figure out the reception, and for some reason it is stressing me out. I don't know if we should have dancing or not. There will be 5 parents, 4 kids, and then 12ish that are in their 30's and 40's. Should we just do eating, chatting casual, or traditional eating and dancing? Do we just do an iPod and then if people don't seem keen on dancing skip past that type of music? Or hire a DJ so they can hype people up? I just want everyone to have a good time. What are you guys doing?
  9. We put together a small registry because we had a few people ask, and I figured better to get a few things we actually want. I did put a link on our website, but just working on getting the right wording so people know we do not expect anything.
  10. We are doing a catamaran sunset cruise, but we have a smaller group of 21, so it is not outrageously expensive. I think it will be $1500, including transport to and from, appetizers open bar and a bunch of photos on cd. We worked it into our budget because I really wanted to do something for the people who are spending so much to come to our wedding!
  11. For us the reasons are: 1) we love to travel 2) we have family on opposite sides of the country, so someone was going to have to travel anyway 3) we wanted a small and intimate wedding, and this way we knew we would not have to fend off parents friends, etc 4) didn't want to deal with the stress of planning a local wedding (finding a caterer, baker, officiant....) 5) the photos look great! 6) liked the idea that we get friends and family to celebrate a whole week with us not just one day.
  12. We will be because our photographers are staying until almost the end of the reception, and six hours is a long time to go without a meal! I agree in your case it would be a very nice gesture to offer.
  13. Beautiful ring! I don't have a yellow diamond, but I really like them. Maybe I can ask for one as an anniversary gift down the road
  14. I also use dish soap and a soft brush (baby tooth brush) and it always sparkles like mad when I am done. I hadn't heard of Mr Clean, I might have to try that!
  15. I'm still trying to decide. I'm not sure about spending the extra $, but I love the look of them, and think it would be nice to get some photos of us when it is more relaxed.
  16. That's awesome, I really love his work. When is your wedding? I'm wondering if I get to snoop at your photos before my wedding rolls around!
  17. Well it took longer than expected to get everything finalised, but we have finally booked our photographer! We are using Jonathan from LaLuna, and I am so excited!!
  18. I have been looking for a specific destination wedding planner as well, thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely check it out!
  19. For Save the Dates, because we are less than 8 months out now, I think we will just an informal save the date with a link to our website in the next few weeks, and then send a formal invite in a couple of months. I seems silly to send out two invites in the mail so close to one another, and all information pertaining to the wedding will be on the website anyway.
  20. Oh, and I mentioned in the other thread, but we're getting married March 24, 2012. Can't wait!
  21. Ok, added the link to this thread in the Now Sapphire one you created, RFinger, so hopefully we can get everyone to start posting on that one now.
  22. Ok, hopefully we can get this thread going! Here is a link to the old Paradisus thread for anyone who wants to have a look. There are Now Sapphire weddings to read about, as the thread remained active after the name change. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/16099/paradisus-riviera-brides-post-here/2740 How is everyone's planning going?
  23. So I got a hold of Tammy, and she suggested that we just start a new thread with the correct name, as some of the information is outdated/incorrect at this point (when the resort was Paradisus). So I could just start a new thread, and then put a link to this one on the first page so anyone new can read this thread if they want further information. Or we just stay on this thread. Thoughts ladies?
  24. Is it possible to get a thread title changed? I am having my wedding at the Now Sapphire next year, and have been posting in the Paradisus Riviera thread as that is what the resort used to be called. However, the resort changed ownership/name quite some time ago, so even though a lot of the information in the thread is still relevant, the title is not. In fact, I assume some brides miss it altogether as they don't know the former name. If it could be called Now Sapphire Brides (formerly Paradisus Riviera) I think that would help a lot! Thanks.
