  1. Thanks for your input. I think overall I prefer the look of the flats as well. I guess having sand in my shoes is not a huge deal for 30 min. And it shouldn't be an issue during the reception.
  2. We are hoping to keep it under $15,000, but including our flights and hotel it might be more like $18,000. We'll see, maybe I can work some magic!
  3. Ok, I will do it! It is on the list of things to talk to my photographer about now. I will need all the help I can get to calm my nerves! Thanks for the advice.
  4. Thank you. Yeah, I couldn't resist, haha. It is dangerous that he doesn't have it hidden away from me!
  5. Ok, I have two pairs of shoes that I am trying to decide between. The first pair are JCrew Glitterati flats, and the second are Kate Spade Ivy Sandals. They are both comfortable, I just wasn't sure if the flats would drive me nuts on the beach (ceremony only is on the beach). Thoughts?
  6. Sorry, this is not the best picture and my room was a mess. It also still needs to be altered, and I'm hoping I can lose another 10 pounds before the wedding.
  7. I took this photo the other day with my both my engagement and wedding ring. Don't tell my FI!
  8. I have been going back and forth on this issue and this thread is really making me lean towards a DJ, even if we don't have much dancing. I would cry if our reception flowed that way.
  9. I think we will be buying postcards once we are down there, and get them to write a message on those. Although I do like that chalkboard idea above as well!
  10. Love it! I am doing blue and purple as well. It will be slightly different because I am using navy, but I feel like I hardly see any blue/purple color schemes.
  11. Yeah I had been thinking about the first look pictures and trying to decide if I wanted to do them. I think you just sold me on them! Not only do I love the look of them, I think it might help calm my nerves before the ceremony. I will speak to my photographers about it. Thanks!
  12. Thank you! Love that shot. LaLuna is doing our photography, so I can hardly wait!
  13. Thanks for the thread. It is so helpful to see everything broken down. And I can't believe you came in that much under budget - that is awesome!
  14. Thanks for the thread. I ordered my invites from wedding paper divas, and I never would have thought of that. Oh, and I love your red shoes!
  15. Your pics are GORGEOUS! And I am glad to hear you liked the TTD, because we just booked ours last week and I have been second guessing myself over the cost.
  16. I actually forgot all about the wedding show. I don't think I will go as I have most things organized for the wedding, and if I go It will probably stress me out that with things I am not doing!
  17. I think our first dance will be to Nothing Can Change This Love by Sam Cooke. FI actually mentioned at one point it ways the song he would like for us at the wedding, and since he hasn't been pro-active in a lot of the decisions, I thought we should use it.
  18. We are not having an AHR. We chose a destInation wedding to save money and the stress of planning here, and we hate being the center of attention, so didn't want to be the focus of a large group. So basically having an AHR defeats the purpose of going away, for us. I don't think there is a right or wrong way to do it though, just whatever works for the couple!
  19. We are doing our legal ceremony here as well. We have two friends (a couple) that can't make it to Mexico so they will be our witnesses, and I think we will go out for dinner with them after. But that's it, we aren't making a big deal of it and to me it is not our "real wedding".
  20. We sent our save the dates out about seven months before the wedding, but we had only finalized the resort then. Most people did know the date and general area before that though, as we have a small group and had spoken to them about it. They had on it the date, the resort, and our website. Invitations just went out last week, but most people have already booked and the few people who may come will only book last minute anyway, so I thought it was better to send them closer to the date.
  21. Thanks for putting this together - the heart in the sand is a great idea, we might have to steal that! And I LOVE your pictures, everything looked great and you were beautiful.
  22. Hi everyone! Weddings are coming up quickly, aren't they? Less than 60 days to go for me! Invites were sent out last week (we know everyone who is coming, save for a few people) and I have made some headway on a lot of decisions, so it feels good. We still need to get the attire for groom and BM, and our figuring out entertainment/music for the reception. I think those are the last big items. Oh wait, and the groom's ring! Hoping to get these things sorted very soon.
