  1. Oh, and I finally have pictures to share! Love, love, love del Sol and would recommend them to anybody [=http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=678][/]
  2. I like the one that was made for you better. It looks really nice!
  3. Hi Noxx, I am not Amy, but I will answer anyway! Our wedding was booked (and took place) on the Tequila Beach. But we went around with Ramon to discuss a plan if there happened to be rain. One of the backups in case of rain was the gazebo you are talking about, which does normally have large chess pieces on it. I will attach a picture, although it's not very good, to try and give you an idea of where it is located. In the front you will see the pool gazebo, and behind that another dome. That is the "chess gazebo". So if you are in the gazebo, to the left you have the lobby bar, to the right where they hold the event nights, and right in front the pool. He said they have a blind thing that they pull down to try and block as many people as possible from the lobby bar area, but it is still completely open pool side, which I really didn't like. Especially as if people gather there, they will all be behind you in your pictures! Unless they block them, but I don't see how they would do that, because that is the only way to get around on that side of the pool. He also said they would turn off the pool/lobby music during the ceremony, but you would still have all the shouting, etc from the pool. The other option we were given was actually really private, but you won't have the beach feel at all, and I guess it may not work depending on how many people you have at your wedding. But we were discussing the ball room in case of rain (which is MASSIVE) and right outside of the room you have an open space that has a bunch of trees on one side, and then a big wooden lattice "wall" in front. The other side is open, to the hallway, but hardly anyone ever walks there, so it would be really private. And it was actually quite pretty, so it was definitely what I was going to use if there was rain. I don't have any pictures of it, but you could probably get Ramon or Anel to send you one. Or maybe you could rope RFinger into taking one for you For me, I wanted to be married on the beach, that's why we picked a destination wedding in Mexico. The location is not totally private, but there were really not that many onlookers, and anyone who was walking along the beach was directed up and around us so as not to get in pictures. And I was told this before I got married, and didn't believe it, but I really didn't notice the other people while the ceremony was going on, so to me it was no problem! I am a very private person, but it really was no big deal. Anyway, that's two cents, hopefully it helps you a bit. Anyway, my two cents.
  4. Exactly what Amy said. For our group, most who like to have a good time but aren't huge party-ers it was enough, but it is more of a chill "night life". No one in our group went in to the clubs, but you definitely could if you really wanted a night or two to really party.
  5. Vanessa, glad to hear everything went well. Can't wait to see pics! RFinger, your wedding will be awesome and you will have a great time too!
  6. The reason I chose Now Sapphire was because it has more of a traditional Mexican feel, and the Now Jade is very modern. For my wedding, I preferred that. I am sure you can't go wrong with either, but I was very happy with our wedding at Now Sapphire and I can't imagine having had it anywhere else!
  7. Amy, thanks for sharing more of your photos! They look great. and you looked beautiful As for me, I am still (impatiently) waiting...
  8. I liked having preferred, but it is definitely not necessary. Although things were slightly different for us as we have a two year old, and he kind of cramped our style sometimes, haha. But here are my comments: 1 - I also liked having wifi in the room. But we spent time on our balcony each day while our son napped, so it was a nice bonus to use that time to check emails, etc 2 - Because we spent so much time on our balcony, it was REALLY nice to have a nice big balcony looking over the beach and ocean. At least it still felt like we were on vacation and we could enjoy the breeze, sounds of the ocean, music from the pool. 3 - We reserved chairs on the beach every day. We didn't use them all the time, but it was nice to know they were there. Especially as sometimes we couldn't use them until the afternoon, and by then all chairs at the pool and beach are taken. 4 - We actually only had the preferred breakfast twice because we forgot about it until the end of our trip, but it was nice having breakfast out on the deck. 5 - The day after the wedding, family had our son, so we went to the preferred pool to "hide" for a bit, and spend time alone without running into him. The pool is smaller, but nice and quiet, and we enjoyed it. Hope that helps!
  9. No problem, I understand the anxiety when your wedding is coming up! So it is nice to get feedback/answers. I am not sure what time the sun will be setting when you get married. I had found a sunset guide at one point, but I don't remember where now. The day I got married the sun set just before 6pm, it was dark by 6:30 I think. Sunset is getting later and later now, I just don't know by how much. We had our ceremony at 4:30, and that was definitely plenty of time for photos. I think it still would have been fine if we had started at 5.
  10. Yes, it is a great place for a wedding! As for hiccups, our arrival transfer never showed up, they forgot to iron our clothes (this was my biggest panic as I only noticed at 12pm on the wedding day!), our wedding cake looked NOTHING like what we asked for, and they messed up our romantic dinner on the beach. As I said, nothing too major, clothes aside, and that worked out fine. What were your hiccups? Who was your coordinator? We hired LaLuna, although the photographers have now been promoted to DelSol, so I guess that is who we used, haha. I am hoping we will get a sneak peek soon. Well, I guess we have because they posted photos of our from our trash the dress session where we got pooped on! But that is not quite what I mean
  11. Oh and we had the divine package so used the violinist for the ceremony, and then DJ for the cocktail hour and reception.
  12. We had a similar timeline 4:30 ceremony 5:30 cocktail hour 6:30 reception - dinner with toasts between courses 7:30 first dance, followed by dancing 8:30 cut cake, more dancing 9:30 finished I have no idea if things were on time - neither of us had a watch, but I think things were pretty close to the schedule.
  13. Hi everyone, we are back! The resort is wonderful, all of our guests loved it and some plan to return (as do we). In fact we wished we had stayed longer than a week. The wedding was fantastic and there were only a few minor hiccups but certainly nothing that really mattered to me. Amy, your photos look great! Who did them? We have to wait about 6 weeks for ours, and though I know it will be worth it I want them now!!!
  14. I posted my dress in here earlier, but I have updated pics from my dress fitting. I go back on Saturday for my final fitting. Hopefully the length will be right, because we leave next Wednesday!!
  15. Congrats Amy! I can't believe our weddings are almost here! Time has flown by, especially in the past couple of months. I am sure everything will be awesome, and I can't wait to chat about our weddings once I am back as well.
  16. I am not a 2013 bride, but just wanted to reply to your questions. I understand, because I have a child myself, and it is not easy when they are young! For diet, I would suggest looking at weight watchers. I only started it towards the end of breast feeding, but they give you extra daily points to account for what you need for breast feeding. So your supply should be ok, obviously you could adjust it if you feel there are any problems. As far as results, in just over ten months I have lost close to 60 pounds. The program works! I have heard good things about the p90x but haven't tried it. I actually did the couch to 5 k running program, and jog 3-4 times a week with some Jillian michaels DVDs thrown in there as well. But I was losing even when I wasn't working out. Maybe you could slowly build up to working out more? Like aim for 1 or two nights after work, and then once on the weekend? Then it is not every day that you feel like you are giving up your time? It is all very different with kids, I know, but it is also important to take time for yourself. Good luck!
  17. People are curious about other people (well, some people are beyond curious and into nosy territory!) and sometimes asking questions like the ones mentioned is just an easy "topic of conversation", you know? Although I don't think you should ever ask questions about money, that is completely rude. And I hate to break it to all of you, but as someone who has a 2 year old son, the questions are not going to end! If you do get pregnant, there is the - when are you due? You're so huge! You are so tiny! Are you having twins? are you going to find out the sex? Then, the did you have an epidural? Are you breast feeding? Are you sleep training? Are you having a second kid? When are you are you going to start trying? And so on and so on...it never ends.
  18. I don't know about prices and quality of others, but My Publisher is great and they are having a 60% off sale until the 27th. Maybe check them out as well.
  19. So Sandy you would recommend going straight from the cocktail to the reception with no break? It was told it would be a good idea to give people a small break between the two, but I wasn't sure about that.
  20. Amy, Not surprisingly I am at the same point as you. What I was thinking is ceremony at 4:30, should take us to 5 or almost. Then sparkling wine toast, hugs, some pictures, then cocktail hour 5:30-6:30. Then I was originally going to do reception 6:30-9:30 but I was advised it might be nice to give people a quick half hour break if they want to freshen up or grab something from the room. So now I am leaning to reception 7-10. But Sandy I would also love to hear your thoughts on this!
  21. Good luck! I am sure you will have an awesome wedding. Can't wait to hear all about it when you return!
  22. Thanks for a great planning thread. And everything looked beautiful at your wedding!
