  1. HEEEYYYYY...guess what?!? We can get a free sample of emergen-c sent to us in Canada! What does that say about me that I'm always trying to scope out the coupons and freebies? Helps me feel a little less guilty for the extra spending... http://www.vitascorb.com/samples.html
  2. TLS, we are going to name you "Mom" of this group...as your advice is always so sensible. And I know, I was disappointed about those bags too...I was about to race down to the mall with my hair on fire to get the $1 bags...but if all they are are a pretty zip-locs I thought maybe not. BUT if that bride got the $10 bags for $1 that was a steal! They're really cute...
  3. OMG DramaticAnnie...where do I begin? At least you have the clarity of mind and desire to do an excel spreadsheet at this point. I'm too scared...every day I come home and I'm like... "THAT'S IT...I'M DONE...NO MORE!" as I carry another two bags of stuff down to the basement. And, I'm worried that my employer may be tracking the amount of time I spend peeking at BDW during the work day...can I just tell you that as well?!? I would also like to know about Emergen-C...like I'm not a big drinker, but I'm thinking it might come in really handy right now. Also, does it help prevent or get over motion sickness by chance? I have a little problem with that as well if anyone has some advice they'd like to share ; ) I've tried the little patches behind the ears, gravol, ginger gravol, dramamine, you name it!
  4. When I heard about the $1 bikini bags at LVER, I called our local store and she said they had two kinds...one is a dollar (she said they carry them all the time) and is basically like a ziploc bag...the other is $9.95 and looks like this... http://www.lavieenrose.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductURL1_10052_10001_-1_6_6_5001001112_Bags_92715_AQUASwimBag_ProductDisplayErrorView I thought that they were clearing these ones out at $1 but no, that wasn't the case with our store.
  5. 02.02.2012 at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya in Mexico...and the widget says 183 days from today!
  6. I know...I feel the same way but I have 183 days to go. In a millisecond, my brain is being bounced from shoes to cakes to what to make for supper to luggage tags to imodium to what colour tissue to put in my OOTs to clever things to write on my MIL's mug to I've got to get to the gym to which Dollarama I hit up next to I need to check out those bags at La Vie en Rose to remember to call the insurance adjuster about the entire bottle of nailpolish that spilled all over our ivory carpet...AGHHHHHH! No wonder I'm forgetting my belongings in truck stop washrooms...
  7. omg I just figured it out...it's because you're only allowed 10 free things per order...
  8. HELLLLP ME! I have been on Vistaprint all afternoon...wondering if someone knows the answer to this! I have reached $237 worth of freebies, with lots of free things still to order, but now when I put them in the cart, I get charged for them. Is there a cap/max on the $ value of free items per order you're allowed?????
  9. Ohhhhh...I'm all about the blanket/wrap on the plane...especially when it's -30 at home and you're running into the airport in capri pants and sandals! What great restraint you showed : )
  10. Well, personally I'd like to see the whole story play out in one thread...words, pictures, templates, plans...I'm excited to see everything!
  11. Just enter "purex free sample" in your search window, or cut and paste the address...
  12. Sorry the link didn't work...that's probably because I had just signed up for another free sample myself!
  13. Here's something worth telling you about... www.freesample-purex.ca/ Fill in the online form and in a few weeks you'll receive a pouch of purex laundry detergent...actually, it would do an entire load of laundry...but on a DW you could take it and use it to wash in the sink all week. They also include a $3 coupon off a purex product...lately my sister has been getting a jug of laundry soap for $1 and I picked up two boxes of purex washer to dryer sheets on clearance at Shoppers the other day for $2.99...so I pretty much got them for free (just had to pay the taxes).
  14. Anyone looking for men's linen pants, etc? Old Navy has an amazing deal on them (most between $12.99 and $16.99 a pair) plus 25% off your entire purchase (online only)...ends August 5th...free delivery on orders over $50 and free returns. http://oldnavy.gapcanada.ca/?tid=caonemsd002&locale=en_CA&ev=ONCANW832011&di=54512384&cd=ONNC_OPR&redirect=true
  15. Not sure how many of you have already read this, but I thought it was great! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/62571/what-i-would-and-wouldnt-do-again
  16. We bought an Olympus Tough (with a floating strap!) and love to take it out snorkelling...I think they're around $150 now. I have never really been happy with the quality of the indoor pictures it takes, but for outdoors and underwater, it's been fun. Some examples... .
  17. I really enjoyed reading this...thanks...it gave us great food for thought! We were at Dreams Tulum in January this year and I LOVED it...loved the little chapel...loved our room with a view...loved the Seaside Grill (and the tomato soup!)...just the intimacy of the resort overall was fantastic. Had we got married there, the one "note to self" that I made was to ask if it was possible for the resort to NOT hold a tequila tasting in the bar right next to where/at the same time as the wedding party was lining up and getting ready to make their way into the chapel. The bride we saw just seemed to roll with it though! ; ) We decided against having our DW there only because of the cost to our guests. I had no interest in wearing a veil for the wedding...just my hair up with a flower. But now I'm thinking I should pick up a veil and take it out just for some great shots after the ceremony.
  18. Ok, so I've started a thread called Coupon, Discount Codes, Etc. for Canadian Brides!...but I have no idea how to link it to any existing forum we currently have going. Can you guys see it/find it? I hope I did it the right way...
  19. Some BDW brides have expressed a desire to post coupon links, discount codes, special deals and offers for products or services relevant to the DW bride and groom. Let's give this a go and see if we can all save some money while planning our weddings! We would love to see coupons for travel/trial-size items (especially those items which could be used in OOT bags) and toiletries such as sunscreen, insect repellent and first aid items. If you know of special discount codes or super deals on shoes/clothing/cosmetics/personalized items from major Canadian retailers, let us know as soon as possible! As the majority of these coupons and offers will be time sensitive, PLEASE LIST THE EXPIRATION DATE(S) IN YOUR POST. My mom and sister are avid couponers, and I'll start by posting some links to their favourite coupon sites. Some of these you will need to register for...some offer coupons to print out at home...some mail the coupons out to you. I'm still learning too! Couponing can be often be feast or famine...and most coupons are available in limited quantities/for a limited time only. It's a lot of work to stay on top of and keep organized. Certain retailers will drive you crazy with their coupon policies. But, if you hold on to your coupons and watch the flyers, you can often get really good deals...even here in Canada! For example...right now, Shoppers Drug Mart has "Tide to Go" pens on sale for $2.99. My mom just gave me 4 coupons she had in her stash for $1 off a pen. So I'll be able to pick them up for $1.99 each! It's probably best to ask about store policies, etc. on the websites listed below rather than asking a lot of questions here. There are HARD CORE couponers on these sites, who will be able to offer waaay more information, assistance and coupon links than I. But hopefully I can point you in the right direction to get started... http://smartcanucks.ca/ http://www.gocoupons.ca/home.html http://brandsaver.ca/en_ca/ https://lifemadedelicious.ca/ http://save.ca/coupons https://www.websaver.ca/en_ca/coupons/ http://couponsforcanada.ca/ $2 off ANY size Imodium Expires December 31, 2011 http://www.imodium.ca/en/coupon.asp
  20. Ok, well I'll try it...gee, I'm all nervous and worried that I might do something wrong!
  21. I had to laugh at your comment about hockey player legs...at my BFFs wedding, the boys all played hockey and were in slim fit European style suits from Le Chateau. A few minutes before the wedding started, the groom was scrambling for safety pins as the zipper on his pants broke...and during the dance, one of the groomsman's pants pretty much split open from stem to stern, if you know what I mean! ; )
  22. Yes...before driving an hour to the service station and another hour back, I made sure that it was there! They were really good...not sure who found it, but they locked it up in their safe overnight. I didn't have any money in it...I've been too busy spending my cash on OOT bag stuff at Dollarama ; ) Actually, I didn't even realize I left it there until 10:30 last night when I went to place an online order for OOT stuff and needed my credit card...geez, between the heat and this wedding my brain is fried. I noticed Shoppers has Tide to Go pens on sale for $2.99 this week...I chatted with my mom (coupon queen!) today and she has 4 coupons for $1 off. Even better...$1.99 a piece! If we were to start a coupon/discount thread for Canadian brides, can the person who starts the thread go in and delete any old/expired entries? I think that would be kinda important...
  23. The Tequila Bar is the third picture at the end of my series...at the 4:00 position of that photo, you can see the "specialty drink of the evening" station with the bright light hanging above it. If you walk out the doors directly in line with the wicker chairs, that is the theatre area. They have nightly shows, and I think a couple of times each week they still have handicrafts and artisans in that area.
  24. I get it too! I haven't really had the guts to PM someone and ask for their personal templates...but then I am a bit of a rule-follower...I think you guys put your fair share of time and energy into some fabulous creations! : ) Your patience (to reach 150 posts) OR your $30 is so worth it in the end to see/access EVERYTHING that's available...not just a template or two from you. This forum has provided my FI and I with A LOT of inspiration for our wedding...thanks to you all! And now, I must drive an hour back to a service station near the lake we stayed at on the weekend...as I left my wallet in the washroom there yesterday morning...ughhhhh...!*%$! So much for my morning of errands!
  25. I LOVED these shoes on Amazon...and they're on sale, but they've never had my size : ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KHNOX6/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=1278548962&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B002T45BL8&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=005Z39HBP4J93MV6J9FH I have been looking too, and am thinking maybe not fabric as I'm worried the sand would stain/scratch up the fabric on the heel too much?
