  1. i love this! i recently made 150 roses out of fabric/ribbon for my invitations. i know the challenge. i might have to steal your idea.
  2. Wow! Everything looks amazing, fitting for a beach wedding, yet elegant and classy. What an inspiration for future brides. Thanks for posting.
  3. Beautiful pictures. This is getting me excited although I have a long way to go. I just requested a price list from her recently. By the way, where did you purchase your barefoot sandals? like the fact that they are simple and elegant. Lovely!
  4. Hi Tropical Love, This information may help you out. Keep in mind that this is for IRHBeach. Have you sent your legal paperwork yet? I think this is key in determining whether you will have to pay cancellation fees. If you haven't submitted your legal paperwork from my understanding there are no cancelation fees. If you cancel the date after you have submitted your legal paperwork, there is a cancellation fee of US$100. If you cancel the wedding once already at the hotel they will charge you for the wedding package. Hope this helps. Everything should be outlined in the information package your WC sent you.
  5. Hi leslioni, Great question. It was on my mind too! I'm getting married at the Beach 07/22/12 and I asked the W/C Silvia about the huppa since I strongly prefer it over the arch. She said the Beach resort has a huppa. However, I have no clue about its dimensions. It might be more affordable to bring the fabric from home. I'm assuming Tia Floral will be the recommended vendor for its decor and it might be ridiculously priced. Maybe Silvia would know. Give her a call. She's really helpful. Happy planning!
  6. Hey futuremrsgun, I noticed we're getting married at the same resort (IRHB) so I thought I would give you a shout. How early did you start to plan for your photographer and flowers. Since I'm off during the summer I sort of wanted to get a head start. Should I contact Tia now? Any suggestions. Did you send emails/photographs of what you wanted etc? BTW you've done some amazing projects! Take care!
  7. Hi MrsGreene! I feel for you my dear. I think you should still have the cocktail hour, dinner, bonfire with the fire dancer and then go to the disco. Think about all the memories you'll be creating. That's what matters. Bonus....mom's on board. Go for it girl!
  8. Congratulations! You sound like you had a great time. Looking forward to seeing your pics!
  9. Thanks for the response. I'm just going to be very clear with my guests on my website. - "You have to stay at one of the three Iberostar properties. If you choose to stay outside of the Iberostar resorts, unfortunately you will not be able to attend the wedding" (since for every 10 wedding guests, 9 have to be Iberostar guests). At least if I'm blunt (like a previous bride said) they'll know there are limited options. **I'll reserve the pass for that 1 guest (out of every 10 guests) that may stay with relatives from Jamaica. I think this may work. What do you think?
  10. I agree with you. I don't think it's worth it to pay for a pass and transportation to and from the wedding. I'll just have to deter them because we've already chosen this resort. I wonder if I can put something in the save the date to inform guests that they should only be looking into accomodations at IRHB? Any suggestions?
  11. My contract states the same thing. I see what you are saying.....So only 10% of the total number of wedding guests would be able to get passes. All of the people who are booking early are staying at the resort. I'm just concerned about the guests who book later.
  12. Does anyone know what the fees are if guests are not staying at the resort for your wedding but will attend. I know that at the Beach there's a $75 wedding pass, and the $18 fee for each additional person after the eighth. Should I be concerned about immense fees if less than 90% of the guests end up not staying at the resort? IRHB July 22, 2012

  14. Yeah that makes sense for your guests to stay at the Suites. I guess I need to know the difference in price for guests to stay at the Suites instead of the Beach. Did anyone look into this same issue? I have good rates for the Beach, but I'm not sure my guests can afford the Suites. Any ideas?
  15. Just thought I'd add to your question. What if your guests are staying at the Beach and the bride and groom stay at the Suites. How much will passes be for the guests, since they are already technically staying at one of the Iberostar resorts? Anyone have an idea of what would happen? The Suites looks like it has beautiful places for the reception dinner etc.
  16. I am in the same boat as you! It looks like the tour operators are only offering price matching for non-group bookings at specific resorts up until April 30, 2012 and conditions apply. Right now I am trying to find out if the price match promotion will continue. I guess this is a waiting game.
  17. I like this idea. Very chique! Are you bringing these with you or will you order them from the resort? Any suggestions of where you can purchase these?
  18. @ jamieirene Okay I thought I was the only one that noticed this. Not only is it too expensive, it isn't available for next summer (July 2012) if you call the tour operators individually. So I'm wondering how the travel agents are able to give quotes. Are they guesstimating? In any case, aren't you concerned that you may not get the date you want to get married on and the flights? Were you able to book your wedding day with the resort without having booked your flight?
  19. Maybe that's what I need too! When is your wedding?
