Hahaha @ vegetarian most of the time!! I have heard from numerous people the jerk is amazing near and on the resort. Ok, thanks for the reception info! No, all our guests had chicken and hubs had beef bc he has a nut allergy, I had veg option bc I'm a vegetarian most of the time lol (couldn't resist that jerk chicken at the beach snack hut though!) My sis also had the beef bc she is preggers and didn't eat chicken right now.they were pretty flexible.

I see where you are coming from however her planning thread has nothing to do with her as a person. And maybe "friend" was a strong word to use. Rather an acquaintance through another friend who just happened to be planning weddings at the same time and we crossed paths years later. But also, you didn't read her 27 text messages ranting and and raving Jesus this Jesus that trying to force something on me I may not be ready to deal with right now. And no I don't owe her anything after her basically calling me out on FB and calling me an atheist. I even asked her to agree to disagree and just leave it alone. So yes, you didn't know but I tried my best to avoid the convo in all aspects. I have lots of friends and we are all different and there is some stuff we just don't talk about. So yes my defenses were up when I felt attacked. I did apologize for not coming to her because I did see her point that I could have, but once she called me an atheist I basically stooped down to her level and was upset and allowed it to bother me. I stepped up and stopped being childish and apologized but it wasn't reciprocated so all I can do is move on. Also, try not to be so naive and think everyone who is so friendly on here is like that when they get from behind the screen. Toootally different person than a planning thread. If anyone has a problem with my venting maybe there shouldn't be a venting forum.. Especially since I called no one out, she opened that door herself.

Hey date twin!!! I will be right up the block at the Gran Bahia 25 days, yippppeeeee!!! -
I would feel really bad if I didn't do an oot bag. My guests are using vacation time and spending a lot of money to come. Since the wedding party had the additional cost of their attire we made their gifts extra special.. So with only 4 weeks left I am starting to pack everything up, woohoo!! Ok so we ended up with: Girls: RL Beach Towel (all our other guests got generic cabana stripe beach towels) Tory Burch Flip Flops Tiffany & Co Starfish Earrings Starfish bracelet from Etsy Tank top with name and wedding role Guys: Personalized Flask NFL shirt with their favorite team and name Ties from Thomas Pink for the ceremony to keep Moms: Shirt with name and role Starfish and aquamarine bracelet Dad: Invicta Watch (he collects watches)

Hey Girl, Ok yes we did a welcome/thank you letter and it has inserts for daily activities/itinerary. I can send it to you if you want. I went to YouTube and made 2 playlist.. One for allow songs for the reception dinner and one for fast songs during our dance and mingling champagne cocktail hour after our ceremony. I was going to put it on my iPod for the DJ but also make a cd's just in case. You might just want to ask your resort of you can put a small pile of itineraries at the front desk. We are doing a seating chart for our 35 guests. Only because we have luminary place cards so I want to make sure everyone is seated with their spouse/family member. We are doing a caricature picture I had made of us as our guestbook. Our guests will be able to sign right on the picture. We are also do self addresses Jamaica post cards. Our guests can fill them out and they are already addressed and stamped to us. I'll place them in the outgoing mail after the wedding.

You should definitely go through the destination wedding travel agents whose banner is at the top of this page. I LOVE them, they have been wonderful and very organized. They will get you the best deal possible for your group. I'm getting married at the Gran Bahia Principe on 9-10-11 and we have 35 people total -
Oh, this isn't meant to be a fight. A vent isn't meant to be taken personally, but for me to express how I feel. Let out what's angering me and feel better. If someone was to basically say your non denominational ceremony was doomed, I would think you would be upset too.. (just an example)

Well you did judge, and it was highly offensive. I have 27 texts of you ranting and raving about how as a black woman you couldn't believe I lost my faith etc etc. It is what it is. This is a place to vent and be HONEST and I felt attacked and it was truly uncalled for. You continuously crave attention (like now) I've blocked you from FB and here but yet you still seem to find a way to offend and try to prove an ignorant point. Now I see why you were also blocked from this site for awhile and the nasty emails you sent to the admin that you also sent to me. You have a serious issue and I really feed bad for you making this vent all about you. I digress.

Thanks you- yes I am moving forward and my wedding is going to be fabulous! I'm so excited I can't even sit down for 5 minutes, haha.. Sometimes we have to realize that not everyone has home training and comes from a good place. All I can do is continue to not judge and treat everyone with respect and hold those people close to me that reciprocate that... Those who don't- don't have a place in my heart!

I need to vent to my fellow BDW brides.. I think I am just hurt by someone I called a friend. Who I have laughed with for months and shared destination wedding stuff with and never for once thought a 45 year old woman still needed to grow up. If you are a believer and care so much about your faith, isn't it a little hypocritical to not accept everyone as they are? So we may not share the same beliefs and maybe I will get my faith back someday; but who are you to not just accept me as I am?.....The cool person you have been friends with for a months?! I never put my religious beliefs anywhere in our relationship. Honestly who I pray to isn't anyones business nor should it affect our friendship. My mother taught me how to love everyone for who they are: skin color, gay, straight, right wing, left wing, pray to Jesus, Buddah, Allah WHOEVER! As long as their friendship is genuine and they treat you right, who cares about the small differences. Trying to make someone feel bad for not believing in the same as you only makes you look ignorant. I feel sorry for you who doesnt except everyone as they are and who just need to GROW UP! I think when you act like a child and have to stoop so low to hide albums on Facebook or block someone from commenting, you seriously have issues way bigger than a friend who has different views. I think your faith that you speak so highly of might have dropped the ball and maybe you should read Romans 2:1 Romans 2 1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. My amazing wedding is only 27 days away and I refuse to let anyone bring me down. Especially someone who yearns for the attention of others so bad to get by that as soon as one person gets off the coo coo train they retaliate by forgetting all that they have learned from their faith in the first place. Have any of you ever been made to feel like you aren't a good friend because you don't have the same views on things? Am I the only one that thinks that's horrible? Venting sure did make me feel better!

I'm adding some hair. This is my 1st time wearing weave so I'm excited. I really want stress free hair the 2 weeks we will be away. So I opted for Brazilian hair which is a little thicker than Virgin Indian and curls more when wet. I'm natural and my shoulder length hair is Curly when wet so this should blend nicely. My hair is shoulder length so I am going a little longer (nothing crazy down my back, lol). Wish me luck! 31 days!!!!!!!!!!

Hey All GBP Brides- I finally got some good concrete info from Donnalle, the assistant wedding coordinator on some things some of us were confused about: Ok- So for the ceremony ONLY you have free access to the DJ to play your Ipod or cd. She said he has the hookups for Ipods but I suggest you bring your own auxillary cable for Ipods just in case. If you RENT the gazebo for dancing etc. you do NOT have access to the DJ unless you rent him too. Make better sense now?
