  1. Perfect, thanks for all the info!! I'm super anal and I'm a visual person so I planned to write everything down exactly how I wanted it anyway for Chandlyn. Also- we provided each of our guests with a beach towel so I'm happy I did it now because you are the 3rd person to say they are always non existent at the resort, lol. As a wedding gift my parents are flying down our photogs we love so I don't even want the resort ones there, lol, I heard they don't take very good pics from someone else too. Thanks again for all the helpful info!
  2. You looked UHHHHHMAZING!!! Congrats, I am so glad things turned out well. Ok, let me apologize now for the 9 million questions lol. Where did you eat dinner? Love it? How long was the walk from the golf cart to the actual gazebo? (It looks super far) Any advice or something you wish you would have said, done etc.. I'm getting married next weekend 9-10-11 Did you give the dj your music on a cd or ipod for the ceremony?
  3. Another bride on here and I went half on bags from www.discountmugs.com. They have lots of bags and they weren't expensive at all. They also give you a discount if you purchase more so that's what we did. Also, sign up on their site and they send out coupons all the time.
  4. Thanks ladies, I enjoyed doing them.. JayKay- PM me your email addy. MrsWeiss- yep, just call the visitors bureau.
  5. Hun- get to know vistaprint!!! You can print anything on there and they always have great deals. I actually got most of this stuff for free, just paid shipping. Sign up on the site and they send coupons all the time. The luggage tags I just made on business cards and the brochure was super easy. If you want the template and all the wording let me know, and you can just change my info to yours, colors etc. I also have the person who made our monograms, it was $15 for 5.
  6. So I really wanted to do a Pre-Travel Pack for my guests and they were a BIG HIT! If you are getting married in Jamaica and would like the wording for my brochure just inbox me. Each person got 2 luggage tags. Each package was about $2.50-$3 to mail. Black Envelopes www.envelopperinc.com Luggage Tags- ebay Inserts-made on Vistaprint Brochure-made on Vistaprint Jamaica Books-Jamaica Tourist Bureau On the outside of the brochure was general info about the island, random facts, a thank you to our guests and a note about not sending or bringing gifts to the island. On the inside we had helpful travel tips, reminder things to bring, itinerary of the weekend, and a little about the resort and the attire for each restaurant.
  7. We spent about $25 on each person. Since we only have 33 guests (30 adults, 3 kids) we really wanted to go all out for them. Just like the PP, since we weren't spending lots of money on a wedding at home we could move that budget to "spoiling" our guests. We spent a little more on our wedding party since they had to buy/rent attire. Each person will receive: Beach Bag Beach Towel 2 washcloths (our resort doesn't have them) 1st aid kit/ hangover kit (pepto, chaser, alka seltzer, gum, spf chapstick) 2 stadium cups Candle Snacks (chips, granola bars, candy), aluminum water bottle. The kids (2 boys, 1 girl) received, personalized bag with a crab or mermaid and their name, coloring book, crayons, water gun, personalized water bottle, beach towel (either Princess or Spiderman) and snacks. For the wedding party, we upgraded their generic cabana beach towels to Ralph Lauren beach towels, Tory Burch Flip Flops (love her!) and for the guys we added NFL t-shirts with their favorite team and their names on the back. Honestly, I think it is up to you on how much you spend on your guests. I really wanted to use the budget we had to put as much stuff that my guests would enjoy and use. I also, put things in there that I would appreciate if I got. I don't think any price you decide will be too big or too small. Your guests will appreciate it just the same, but me personally, I decided to spend more on my guests than things like flowers and decor.
  8. We went all out with our OOT Bags so we decided not to do favors too.
  9. Thanks so much!! Love these labels.. 15 days to go, wooohoooo!!
  10. Thank you! I will be sure to post pics. The minimal the better for me. I hate anything overly done and I am soooo not a DIY'er, lol. Etsy has been amazing, if I can pay someone to do it I will, haha.
  11. I am doing something very minimal for the tables cape. I'm not into a bunch flowers, candles and stuff. So I found these shallow aqua colored starfish bowls and I am going to set taller luminaries on them that have the table numbers on them. Then on each place setting will be the small luminary with each persons name. The on site wedding coordinator is going to set all this up for me. We ordered battery operated tea lights to go under the luminaries. I did do a seating chart for our 3 tables and since we only have 30 people and 3 tables I'm sure it wont be a problem with people finding their name.
  12. I agree too! I think they will look nice on everyone!! Those dresses are gorg!
  13. Thank you! I need to change the wording.. I don't want people thinking they can't take pics the entire weekend. I just don't want pics of the ceremony or our posed photos. So I will figure out how to re-word it.
  14. Hey there and thank you We are going to fill in our room number as soon as we arrive and check in. I'm up in the air as to when to give these out. I just found out my resort charges $3 a bag to deliver them for us and have them sitting on everyone's bed so I think we may just hand them out along with the welcome bags at the welcome dinner that evening after everyone arrives. Or- Leave only the welcome packet at the front desk for when our guests check in and then just hand out the oot bags at dinner. We only have 35 guests and we are all under one reservation so it shouldn't be an issue for the receptionist to hand these out once someone checks in.
  15. No way, I don't have a creative bone in my body, lol. I hate anything DIY, a friend of mine owns an invitation company and she put my thoughts on paper But thank you. We were going to do invitations that looked just like these but everyone was already booked and I loved this design so we just changed them to welcome packets.
  16. Finally! The Welcome Packets for each guest are done. 18 days to go, wohooo. I'm almost done with the oot bags and will post pics of those soon. Feel free to take wording or whatever you need. The only thing that I am going to add is a little business card that reads: We kindly and respectfully ask that no pictures of the wedding day be posted to any social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter etc.) Two AMAZING photographers will be covering the festivities the entire weekend and you will have plenty of pictures at your disposal. Please leave your camera and phones in your room and enjoy our special day. We would like to be the first to reveal our day to our friends and family who could not make it to Jamaica. If you have other pictures from the excursion, rehearsal dinner or anything else from the weekend please upload them to Shutterfly with the username ______ and password_______.
  17. Just an FYI for your decor or seating.. I just got word from Chandlyn that at the Dolce Vita and Grille they have rectangle tables that seat 10-12 people.
  18. We are flying Air Tran and I am allowed my purse, a carry on and my dress, I called them last week to confirm. I suggest you just call your airline and ask because each one is different!
  19. They will tell you which one is open 2 weeks before your wedding. Sometimes both aren't open from what I have heard. If they are both open I think I would rather go with a more private room than better food... So I would probably pick Dolce Vita.
  20. We have 33 guests and we actually have pretty big stuff.. Beach towels, stadium cups, aluminum water bottles... So we have 2 boxes and 2 duffle bags. I also did silk flowers so those are in a box with the flower girl basket and ring bearer pillow. In my other box is all the larger items stated previously. In our duffle we put our fragile stuff like our custom cake topper, toasting flutes and the flutes/pilsners we had made for the wedding party. My suggestion if you can is to give one or two items to other people. We are giving each parent a box since they both are only taking one suitcase. Then 2 of my bridesmaids are taking a duffle for us. Since I have to take my wedding dress I didn't want an extra carry on. My fiancé is taking all the snacks in his carry on (chips, granola bars, candy). We offered to pay the $15 for each additional checked bag to my parents and bridesmaids but they declined, so I'll try to sneak it in there somehow, lol.
  21. I thought about my oot bags for months, worried we were doing enough. But we also only have 33 guests (30 adults, 3 kids). Since you have such a large guest list I suggest the paper bags too and maybe just a couple goodies. Some things that might be cost efficient that we did was: Stadium cups with our logo ($1 each on Ebay) 1st aid kits ($1 each at Target) maybe include personalized items like chapstick, sanitzer etc.. Snack (chips, granola bars, candy) Shot glass(we didn't do these but they are super cheap)
