  3. Hey Ladies... How is all the planning coming? So we sent out save the dates in February and so far we have 40 people booked so I think that is the number we are gonna have. I'm sending out formal invites in June just in case people may want to come. So far- invites, dress, tuxes and silk flowers are ordered. I have my birdcage veil, jewelry and shoes already. Attendants have all ordered their dresses and I am so ready for these last 4 months to be over.. I think I am pretty much done, all I need is favors and maybe table decor. I'm not sure if I want to decorate the tables since I really think it might just be a waste.
  4. Hey Girl, I have emailed the assistant to get some answers.. since Chandlyn never responds to my emails or calls except for like 2 weeks later. The assistant emailed me a couple hours later!! So I asked how many weddings/events they had scheduled that day and why was my ceremony/reception split so far apart from each other. If there is nothing that can be done I am going to take another brides advice from here and maybe do a scavenger hunt or have people go to the bar or something. But I would really prefer not to do that, I hate the fact of having almost 4 hours in between the ceremony and reception.
  5. Yes I booked it months ago when Beverly was still there. I booked 9-10-11 for 5pm with dinner at 630... Now they are telling me it isn't available and the only time for my ceremony is 1130 or 130. Not happy at all.
  6. Ok so I'm a little freaked out. The wedding times they have available are 1130 and 130 and a dinner time of 630.... Are they crazy? Why would they book so many weddings or events in one day and have them spaced out all over the place? Uggggggggggggggh... Not to mention I have called and emailed for two weeks straight and no answer. Does anyone know of a manager? Someone over Chandalyn? This is getting ridiculous.

  8. Here is my bouquet.. I ordered it off Etsy... I didn't want real flowers since I wanted to keep my bouquet after the ceremony and put it on my coffee table back home.. My 4 bridesmaids will have the same bouquet just smaller. I ordered my dress, wooohoo.. It will be here in June!

Now, according to the 2011 pricing the judges fees were $400 and starting 2012 the fees drop to $200... so here is what she wrote which states I am getting the new price I asked Beverly if we could do the free package but she said we would still have to pay judges fees which were $400. I asked her if we could get around the fees since we were already legally married but she never got back to me (I think this is when she resigned.)You may do the free package which now attracts a fee of US200
  10. This is CRAZY!! I see things have started to go downhill since Beverly left. I was told my wedding could only be at 1130 or 130 and for dinner all they had available was 630?!?!?!? And I was told I couldn't book the Italian restaurant until I go there. Not to mention my emails go a week or two without be answered. As a wedding planner myself this is just starting to drive me crazy. The reason I picked a destination resort is because I didn't want to have to deal with any of this stuff. But now I see I have to go into wedding planner mode and start whipping people into shape down there to get some answers!! The first thing Chadalyn should have done was figure out which brides she needed to contact immediately (with weddings coming up soon) and tell the rest of us she would get back to us shortly. And, why publish new prices if they weren't going to honor them until 2012?!? But actually I got the new price for my wedding on 9-10-11 but from what I'm reading on here, some of you didn't. This is nuts, I am going to call and speak to a manager and get back with you guys..

  13. Hey Ladies.. First... Ames I like the 2nd one with the starfish. Second.. For anyone having issues with the birth certificates and sending stuff... My friend got married at the resort last year and she gave me a great tip! GET MARRIED PRIOR TO YOUR WEDDING!! You can still have the regular wedding ceremony and reception at the resort, nothing has to change on that end. The only thing that changes is you don't have to send all the paperwork and go through all the hoopla of "if it got there, if it is correct etc etc. So my fiancee and I got legally married at the courthouse here in VA and we just bring her our marriage license when we arrive in September. No one knows but us (and you guys, haha) and we are still doing a regular ceremony, sand ceremony, exchanging rings etc.. Just a thought to make things a little easier.
  14. I still haven't gotten any word from Chandlyn. I emailed her last week.. My wedding isn't until September but I would have liked to at least get an email letting me know everything was ok.
  15. My fiancee, groomsmen, dad, and ring bearer are all wearing this suit. It is called Alfresco and I found it on www.jimsformalwear.com. You then select your city and it will give you a list of all the retailers that you can rent this suit from. We chose Jos A. Banks, they have a flat rate for a 10 day rental which is perfect for our destination wedding. That way the guys can get their tuxes on Tuesday and still have time before they fly out on Thursday to have any changes made. Then, since most of them are coming back Tuesday of the following week, instead of paying a per day rate because they are due back usually Sunday or Monday, they have a 10 day rental rate which is perfect. We are buying everyone their tie to keep.. The guys are all wearing the white shirt and my fiancee is wearing a tiffany blue color custom made shirt from www.execshirts.com. We love this shirt company. My hubby loves custom dress shirts (they run about $75) so his will be tiffany blue to match the other guys ties.
  16. I was just totally freaked out reading the last couple of pages. Our wedding is 9-10-11 and I haven't heard a word from anyone in 3 weeks! I guess I need to call Chandlyn and figure out what my next steps are! Ugggh, how stressful!
