  1. Oops....sorry for the confusion - I am getting 200 bags because I am giving them away as the favors for my AHR as well! Oh my, I think I would have a little freakout if 200 were coming to the DW!
  2. I was torn too but decided on real for the bouquets, mostly because I don't have room to transport the flowers down as well as all the other stuff I already have to take! I am considering getting real touch for the centerpieces as my centerpieces are only a single stem for each table HOWEVER, I am having the same problem as usual (and as the other Canada brides - particularily Western Canada!) that I cannot order online without the shipping costing more than the flowers themselves. Does anyone know of a place in the Calgary area that will sell single stem real touch flowers (not just arrangements)?? I figure these won't be quite as much to transport as I will probably only need 8-10 of them.
  3. I know! I was having a secondary panic to the shipping situation when I realized that we have a connection on our flight to Punta Cana, which is higherl likelihood of lost baggage on the plane! But I guess there is risk with everything so just have to think positive thoughts!
  4. I think the cooler bags are a good idea as long as they collapse well so they don't take up too much roomin the guests luggage on the way home. I was considering getting the cooler bags too but getting 200 of those was a little out of our budget! You can get them personalized as well, although I looked at so many websites now, I couldn't tell you which ones have personalized coolers....but they do exist!
  5. I will take the starfish if they are still available - I will PM you!
  6. Gald to know I'm not alone! I think I wil wait until the end of the week and then I will send her a quick email to see if she received my last one (last time I did this, she responded right away) - I will keep you posted if I hear from her! 6 weeks!!! That is coming up so quickly, very exciting!
  7. really cute bags for the BMs and FGs - I have been looking for something like this to set apart the BM and FG bags from the rest of the tote bags for the guests!
  8. The caricature is such a great idea! I have been trying to think of something for the guys and this is a really unique idea!
  9. Has anyone heard from Tiara lately? I'm assuming this is a pretty busy time for them, but she is usually pretty good at responding and its been almost three weeks and I haven't heard back from her. Not too stressed about it, just wondering if I should send the email again or wait a little longer to hear from her? Otherwise planning is going....I am pretty much doing a little bit every evening when I get home and you would think I would be making progress, but not so much! haha. I also, decided to start putting all the stuff I have been collecting and will be taking down with me (decor, OOT bag items, etc) in a large suitcase so I can be reminded of how much room I actually have as I buy more and more items!! FI doesn't enjoy the giant suitcase hanging out open on the floor until July when it is full enough that I can close it and tip it up to fit in the closet, but oh well!
  10. Those are great ideas! We will have about 40 people coming so it will be harder to personalize each bag for us! I am looking for some sunscreen and some OFF for each bag as I think that people are likely to forget bug repellent...I have been told that people may need bug repellent if you are having an outdoor reception so I want to make sure I include that! I wish I had some original ideas like you and so many of the brides on this forum!
  11. Since we will be in La Romana, it is hard to find a tour company that is closer - Tropical Storm is up in Bavaro which is further than I want everyone to have to travel for a boat excursion! Anyone have any suggestions for a good tour/company in the Bayahibe/La Romana area?
  12. That sucks! US AIRWAYS needs a better baggage policy! It might end up costing you the same amount as shipping everything down there but at least it is with you so you will have a little less stress....maybe?
  13. I haven't gotten any of these things yet, but I have been told to check the dollar store, target (if in the US) and ebay.
  14. wow, great photo! Looks like something out of a magazine!
  15. looks like you worked really hard on all of this stuff because you did a great job and everything looks great!
  16. lesee - we ordered from www.towelsoutlet.com - we were going to get beach towels but had a strict budget for favors so we ended up going with a bath towel that was a little bit cheaper, although the beach towels were still a good price, depending on how many you need to get. Just a tip, the price on the site doesn't include the embroidering cost, which is about $2.50 per towel extra. Let me know if you have any other questions!
  17. I'm also on order #2 and counting! It's a bit of a problem for a lot of us BDW brides I think!
  18. These look great! I think it's a good thing to go a little overboard for the kids! Sometimes in a big event like a wedding they can get a little lost in everything and it's nice for them to feel like they were important enough to receive a special bag of goodies like this!
  19. We are flying WestJet and it is $20 for the first extra bag and $50 each for the 3rd and 4th so since FI and my dad will only have one bag each, that will be 2 extras so I am hoping to fit all of my stuff into the 2 extra bags - it should only cost about $40. I've heard shipping is in the hundreds so hopefully, I can manage to fit everything into 2 suitcases (worst case scenario -3 suitcases) and the extra baggage fees will stay fairly low!
  20. I think having them in a basket with a little sign that says something that indicate for guests to each take a set is a good idea - just ask the WC at your resort if he/she will set up a table near the entrance to your reception area and that way people will see them as they walk in!
  21. I just found a set of three plastic sand tools (shovel, rake and hoe I think...) at dollarama for $1! They are a good size, but are packaged fairly flat so I can take them in my luggage without taking up a major amount of space! I also got a set of three splash for $1 and am still on the hunt for a cheap beach barbie (All the kids coming to our wedding are girls...) that they can play with in the room or in the pool.
  22. wow, that was some bad english, sorry! It should say " It took me a bit of googling..."
