  1. Nemo - I have an "organization" binder too because I am a bit of a planning freak! As for getting vases...did you check with your friend in the Dominican Republic? It might be easier if they know of a place you could pick some up down there...I know La Romana has big Jumbo stores that have all kinds of stuff in them and you would probably find vases there if you have time to take the trip to La Romana from the resort between your arrival and the wedding. Also jenngene has already asked a friend of hers who lives down there about getting vases and other things like that so maybe she will find out and post with some tips! Love all three of your dresses ladies! I am deciding between 2 so hopefully I can get some pics and you guys can help me decide!
  2. Awesome, I will definitely be taking a look there! Thanks!
  3. SUCH a great job! And thanks for the details on materials especially! I have been trying to figure out what thickness of paper to use and you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find that info! They look so awesome!
  4. I am looking for green shoes for my bridesmaids and they are not big fans of the few styles of Nina that come in green! I know this is an old thread but I'm hoping that maybe someone has some suggestions for where to find some green (apple greenish) shoes. I was hoping to have a few different styles so my BMs could choose a style they are comfotable in. I've tried ol' faithful, Zappos, but there aren't too many there either. Any suggestions? Oh, I'm in Canada.....
  5. When do you need them by? I will have a few extra (kind of random sizes) but my order isn't going to arrive until this week so I won't be able to ship them out to you for a couple weeks! Also, I am in Western Canada so it maybe be a little pricey to ship to Penn! PM me if you can't find any others and I will find out shipping costs etc.
  6. Congratulations! Joining this forum is the best thing I've done so far in my wedding planning!
  7. Dana they are gorgeous!! How exciting...Can't wait to see the rest!
  8. I agree, as long as they are over the counter meds then I wouldn't really consider them as being "dispensed" - but definitely want to make sure they are packaged individually. I think it is a nice addition because a lot of people don't think to bring imodium, tylenol etc. and if they needed it, I think they would go buy their own (expensive) instead of tracking you down to get some. I think getting the big bottle would work best if you had a very small, close group with you.
  9. I agree, I don't think it is a problem at all. I got our "imodium" from Costco and I got the Costco brand and they are actually better than getting the name brand stuff because each box comes with 14 punch out packs of 6 pills each for about 10 bucks compared to double that for the name brand! I agree with you, it's not that its a crazy amount of money, but 40 bucks is 40 bucks!
  10. I have seen it done both ways! Some people pay for all the guests to go as a "Thank you for coming" type of thing and others just arrange it and each guest who would like to come pays their own way. Another option that one of the tour operators suggested was to pay for part of each guests excursion - so instead of it costing each guests $50, you pay $30 per guest so it only costs them $20 each. This way they don't have to go if they don't want to, but they get a really cheap excursion if they decide to go. My parents were going to pay for all the guests to do an excursion as a replacement for hosting the rehearsal dinner - which is already paid for because we are at an all-inclusive! So in our info booklet, we are putting that the excursion is compliments of my parents.
  11. I will post some pics when I get them! I'm in Canada so we have some pretty good suppliers for real touch here, although the US ones are a bit cheaper, the shipping makes it so there is not a difference! I think they would probably take some of the flowers from the gazebo for the reception if you asked....after all, you ARE purchasing the flowers so you can have them moved if you want! I know someone had asked Tiara a while back about moving the ceremony flowers to the reception and Tiara said yes this was okay, so the gazebo flowers are probably the same if you are paying for them! Good Luck!
  12. I thought putting some little travel games might be a good idea incase there are any bad weather days, or for during the evening when the kids will be in the room - thinking maybe memory card game or go fish but not sure where to find those? Maybe Walmart? Any suggestions?
  13. I don't think Vistaprint has towels - I got mine from towelsoutlet.com if you want to try there!
  14. Dana - I can't believe its only 5 weeks! So excited for you! Carrie - I think the cost of flowers really is that much - I have heard that most place REALLY overcharge for fresh flower arrangments for the DWs in the Caribbean. A lot of girls decide to use real touch flowers and bring them down because it is so much cheaper. You can always check with Tiara about modifying the arrangments to keep the costs lower? I'm thinking of doing real touch flowers for the bouts and corsages so I can spend more of my flower budget on the fresh flower bouquets when I get down there. Are you getting a wedding package or going with the free one and adding on? I have the ultimate package and since this included 2 centerpieces, I am checking with Tiara about using fewer flowers in each centerpiece so I don't have to pay quite as much (5 simpler centerpieces instead of 2 larger centerpieces for the same price) - I am bringing a few things down to add to our centerpieces anyways. Hopefully a bride who has already gotten married down there could let you know what their experience was when they were actually there too!
  15. I read somewhere about this site: http://www.bongous.com/ where you pay a small fee ($5) and they give you a US address so you can have stuff shipped from websites that only ship within the US. Once they receive your goods, they ship it to you and you pay only the exact shipping fees. Not sure if this will save too much money on shipping in the end, but it does allow you to get those things that you REALLY want from a website that doesn't ship internationally. I'm thinking of using this because the odd time I find awesome clearance stuff on websites that I would buy in a heartbeat but they don't ship internationally so by using this site and paying the shipping, it might still end up cheaper than buying it here because the clearance price is so low.
  16. You might want to post this in the Buy, Sell, Trade and Freebies thread as that is probably where most people will look if they are searching for stuff to buy!
  17. You might be able to get something in similar in Mexico. I know previous brides have gone to Walmart etc. in Mexico to pick up decor items that were too big (or risky in this case!) to transport. Maybe try searching your area of Mexico on Google or ask your WC if there is a similar store nearby?
  18. hahaha, I couldn't even imagine trying to get 200 people organized, I'm having a hard enough time organizing for the 40 or so that ARE coming!!

  20. Hey Jenn, thanks SO much for the update! I would love love love to know if there is a place near Dreams where we can pick up decor items because I am currently trying to decide whether to bring vases down or not! Can't wait to hear back from you!
  21. If you search the DIY forum there are a few threads that are just on DIY program fans so that may help!
  22. I was also wondering about this because I am going to be printing on metallic cardstock and I have heard that it is tough to print from an inkjet printer onto metallic cardstock...has anybody tried this?
  23. Not an option...No direct flights from Calgary in the summer months, oh well, I think it should be fine!
