Love your pictures, looks like we don't have much to worry about and can try and just enjoy ourselves! I am going to take chair sashes down with me as well and just use the basic chairs - since we are paying for a private catamaran trip for all of our guests, we would rather spend the money there than spend it on specific chairs. although $5 per tiffany chair sounds REALLY reasonable if only I spoke spanish.... Where are all the reviews??? I have been checking like a crazy person for a review of DLR since there has been quite a few ladies married in the past little while but still nothing I guess I will just have to be patient!

Yes they are jemster! The green is only available in Canada so if you are looking on the US website, you won't find them. They actually don't even have a pic of the green on the Canadian website and you have to call to order them if you aren't near a Nine West store. I looked EVERYWHERE for them and I stalked ebay for about 3 months before I finally just bit the bullet and bought them at the mall here!

Just had my boudoir shoot on the weekend with Kelly Szott (www.timelesssnapshots.com) and it was awesome! I thought it would be more nervewracking but it was so much fun! Kelly was very casual which really helped and it was a marathon shoot but I definitely didn't feel uncomfortable. My hair and makeup was also included and I LOVED them both so I can't wait to get my pics (she gives you 25-50 pics on a DVD included with the shoot)!!!

Pop-up Ads are getting the best of me!!!!
KCB2011 replied to jszy10's topic in Forum Suggestions & Feedback
I haven't gotten a single pop up ad...that's so weird that these ads stalk you guys haha! -
I used the same stuff from Costco instead of Imodium! Definitely a way better cost effective way of getting the "Diarrhea Relief" meds in your OOT bags. I just typed up the instructions, recommended dose etc and printed them on regular mailing labels - then I stuck those on a little "meds instructions" card in my first aid kits!

Mine is supposed to be here end of May/beginning of June too - it is stressful waiting incase something needs fixed - not a lot of time until July comes around!! I think I am more stressed lately because I don't really have a project to distract me, I'm just waiting - waiting for the dress, waiting for the flowers, waiting for the BM dresses, waiting waiting waiting and going craaaaazy! haha. Oh, but, I did order the guys clothes so that's progress woohoo.

These are great - I'm thinking I might have to steal these!!! I was planning on doing a brochure but didn't realize that vistaprint had this template - I used the same image from vistaprint for my RSVP cards (postcards) and am so excited that I can keep everything together with the same image theme. Thank you!!!

Hey Sunshine, We had already booked an outside photographer from the Dominican Republic before we got our engagment photos, but I think had we not already given our deposit we would have used the photog who did our engagment photos. When I chatted with him about it, it sounded like he would basically charge the cost of his trip and charge very little for the actual photography. He gave us a disc with all of our best photos from our e-session and included a copy of all the photos in high res for printing as well as lower res for email, fb etc. He is based out of Banff/Canmore but was cheaper than most Calgary photogs I found and did an awesome job. He made my FI feel totally comfortable and my FI is a full blown camera dodger! Haha, he absolutely hates getting his pic taken and hates ALL photos of himself - he had a great time at the photo session and loved almost all of the photos. His name is Eric Daigle - www.ericdaigle.com - his email and contact info is on the site as well. I can send you a couple of our e-pics if you want to get an idea of what he does.

Maggie Sottero Knock Offs?
KCB2011 replied to MarlenaMami's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I used a seller on ebay - not sure of the name off hand but I can get it for you if you want. I have also ordered my bridesmaid dresses from a different ebay seller but haven't received them yet so I'm not sure how they will turn out! -
Maggie Sottero Knock Offs?
KCB2011 replied to MarlenaMami's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I have read through the whole knock-off thread as well and it's really a bit of a crapshoot in my opinion. I got a knockoff made for Maggie Sottero Jovi and it is exactly like the picture and was really well made with good quality material. You won't always end up with a cheap dress if you can't afford to pay thousands of dollars. My one suggestion if you are thinking of a knock off: if you are a very picky person and/or if you have really specific expectations about your dress, don't get a knock off - it will be too stressful for you and there is likely to be something that you don't like since it is not the exact dress that you like in the picture. If not, give it a try, I know in my experience it was definitely worth it. -
Love the invites - they look great! Andreanna - I know what you mean, it is a loooooooong haul to read through all of the posts in this thread. It is hard too because some of their policies have changed since previous DLR brides have posted on here (a year or two ago) but still helpful info...just time consuming to go through everything!

I am going with Coco tours, they have been extremely helpful and very good at responding to my emails. I'm not sure if that is the maximum - I just asked for a quote for that amount of people because that is what I am expecting. I kind of asked to make my own tour but they also have pre-set tours where they charge per person if you prefer, I just found the catamaran rental to be a cheaper option. Their website is www.cocotours.com - I just submitted a request for a quote for an airport transfer and mentioned that we wanted a tour as well, but you can email them too ("Email Us" link at the bottom of each page) if you just want to ask about tours etc.

We are planning on doing the same thing and its not too crazy expensive (I think we got quotes around $1300 for a half day catamaran for up to 40 people) You may want to check this thread for info on different excursions offered and which companies are best: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/51593/dominican-republic-excursions/60#post_1596311

Congratulations Jenn - you are officially married! So exciting!

Pre-travel template???
KCB2011 replied to Flores's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
I just did a search for "Punta Cana pre travel brochure" and found quite a few threads that have examples - sometimes they are within the resort thread (ex. Dreams Punta Cana thread) but if you go to a Punta Cana resort thread and search WITHIN the thread for pre travel brochure - it will come up with the posts that contain those words This ia another thread that was asking the same thing as you: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/31173/pre-wedding-brochure -
No idea what the benefits are of being a senior member or full member? Maybe one of the mods can answer that question! It doesn't take long to get to 150 een though it seems like forever!
-
It doesn't go by points anymore, you need 150 posts in order to open attachments etc. and I think once you get to 150 you change from a noob to a junior member. hope this helps!

Good Luck Jenn, I'm sure it will be wonderful and can NOT wait to hear how everything goes! Enjoy!

Calgary/Canadian Brides
KCB2011 replied to Lasallebabe's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
They have those first aid kits at the Dollarama in the NE (on 32nd Ave I think?) and I think I might have also seen them at Dollar Giant! Thanks for the Office Depot info!
