  1. For which function are you talking about? For the ceremony, some locations like the Gazebos can accommodate 150 guests...where as the beach wedding locations do not technically have a limit on guest capacity. The only place that quoted 35 people max was for the dinner reservation. I imagine that is what you are talking about. We are planning on having about 70 guests, but with our room nights, should easily qualify for free events. We will use the dinner reservation for 35 for our rehearsal dinner, and only invite immediate family and bridal party (totaling about 30-35 people). I personally have not heard of MP charging $6-7 a chair for any over 35, but again, I'm not sure which function you are talking about?
  2. Upgrading from a Oceanview Room to a Concierge room with your resort credits is easy. The extra charge is like $60 per night at the most. It may not even be that much.
  3. This is something small, but while looking at your wedding website, I see you have your reception location listed as the TUSCAN Terrace. Its actually the Tucan Terrace. I'm sure none of your guests will notice or care, but just figured I would let you know in case you wanted to correct the spelling error.
  4. You can book your shuttle transfers in advance...but its certainly not required by any means. We travelled to Moon Palace in May 2011 for a site visit for our wedding in Aug 2012. We had no transfer reservations. After you go through customs, but before you leave the airport, there is an information desk who can give you transfer information for Palace Resorts. You can go outside, and give them your name, they will bring you right to the resort, and will charge your room for the transfer. Or, you can just catch a cab. The ride to Moon Palace from the airport is very short. 5 miles maybe...10-12 mintues max. Transportation to/from the airport is not a concern at all. There are plenty of shuttles and cabs outside the Cancun Airport
  5. Why is it not possible to EDIT your posts? Anyway, I before you sign any contract from either the group bookings dept or a Travel Agent, just make sure the promotion is available to you and in writing in the contract. Its nothing to worry about...they promotion is available and should be honored no matter how many guests you bring along.
  6. Ok, so I found the information on the website. Its can be found here: http://www.palaceresorts.com/d/palaceresorts/media/PDF/Termsconditions_1500RC_ing237c71.pdf It does say however, the promotion applies to groups of 25 ROOMS and under...not 25 persons. Also, although it says that...it also urges you to contact their group booking dept or wedding dept to set up a group booking if you have more than 25 ROOMS....and at that point...they will apply the same promotion to your group.
  7. Do you happen to have a link to this information on the Palace Resorts website? This information is not true at all. I am having over 70 guests at the wedding, and we have the resorts credit for each guest included in our group booking agreement.
  8. Tucan Terrace: Caribbean Terrace: There is a $6 per person charge (for Cocktail Hour) or $12 per person charge (for Reception) at the Caribbean Terrace because it is upstairs with no elevator. Its bascially an extra set up fee...however, those fees are negotiable and subject to change. There are a ton of photos in this thread as well... http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/69385/pictures-of-different-areas-at-moon-palace-hotel/80 Hope this helps.
  9. This is the type of behavior from Moon Palace wedding coordinators that really frustrates me. I do understand that they have a ton of weddings to deal with on a daily basis, but they really should set aside a couple hours of their work day to return any and all emails. Its crazy to me that they can just go days or weeks without returning emails.
  10. Our TA has it quoted as "Roundtrip shuttle transfers are available at a price of $23 per person based on a minimum of 2 people"
  11. This is exactly what we are doing as well. I have already booked and paid the deposit for LaLuna Photography. I am going to book them a room for 1 night, and they are going to be a guest at our wedding. I have no reason to explain the situation to anyone at Moon Palace. If I am asked about photography, I will simply explain that one of my guests are going to photograph the wedding. Because when I book and pay for a night for the photographers, they ARE now guests at my wedding.
  12. Book your photographer a room for the night, and tell your wedding coordinator one of your guests are taking the photos. At the point you book the room for Juan Navaro, he is your guest.
  13. My personal experience is that most of us have been told since the beginning, that you can use your Palace Resort points/vacation dollars towards wedding collection packages....however, you are NOT allowed to use the resort credits to pay for any options or add-ons.
  14. @YWS2012 There is a map of the entire resort available on the Moon Palace webpage. http://www.palaceresorts.com/resorts/moon-palace Click the link, then look bottom right. It says Property Map.
  15. There are pictures of the Tucan Beach over in the Moon Palace Resort Photos thread http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/69385/pictures-of-different-areas-at-moon-palace-hotel/140#post_1670096 I actually do not know where the Capilla Beach set up is.
  16. I do not know where Capilla beach is. But this is a photo I took of Tucan Beach. There are steps going down from the upper grassy area of the resort to the beach.
  17. leenancy, The map is labeled incorrectly. The Venado Terrace is actually where number (30) is on the resort map. Right in front of the Venado (deer)building of rooms. Its located ocean front, right in between where the Nizuc and Grand sections meet. And very close to the Grand Lobby.
  18. If it's not booked for a wedding, they may allow you to have your cocktail hour at the Tucan Gazebo. Or, the Tucan garden is in that same area too. Either of those would work.
  19. Hmmm, interesting. I was sure that if you were having a symbolic ceremony, the 3 days prior rule didn't apply. You may want to double check that with the on-site coordinator. We are flying in Monday for a Friday wedding, so it's not a concern. However, I honestly think it doesn't apply to symbolic ceremonies.
  20. I would contact your Travel Agent and pose the question to them. Seems a little odd to be honest. Did you stay for 7 days? You only paid $2100 for a 7 day stay? That seems like a GREAT price, no matter what season it was. Any chance you could provide some extra details about this?
  21. They are very similar to the same size and they are actually quite close to one another. The Venado Terrace is right in front of the Venado building of rooms (which you can find on the property map - its the Deer), right in between where the Nizuc side meets the Grand side. There are pics of it in this thread....post #110 and #111. The Tucan Terrace is right next to the Tucan Gazebo, and right along the Tucan Beach. Its very similar in both size and shape, and is right along the ocean as well. You can probably see one Terrace from the other, they are less than 200 yards away from each other. You can see the Tucan Terrace in post #113 (far left side of image). If you have any other specific questions, I would be more than happy to try to answer them. If you are choosing between the 2 terraces, you can't go wrong. They are basically the same size and shape, and in the same area.
