Yes, we booked our wedding and signed the contract back in Feb 2011, long before the Colin Cowie packages existed. My have things changed at Moon Palace in 18 months. We are using the older complimentary package and adding all the optional services we desire. Sorry for the possibly misleading answer. I didn't even consider the new packages and their rules. Yes, we leave next Monday for Cancun. Very excited.

We are going to have 50 guests for the wedding. There is no extra charge for chairs or champagne. The 30 person limit is ONLY for the included dinner reservation (which we are using for our rehearsal dinner). It does not apply to anything else. There is no limit on the number of guests that can attend the ceremony at all. Most locations can easily hold 100 people. If you are going to have enough people to get 75 room nights, you will qualify for unlimited free private functions. Meaning you can hold a private reception party after the wedding. With the unlimited free private functions, you are limited to 3 hours per day for free. Meaning you may have a 1 hour cocktail hour and 2 hour private reception for free. After the 2 hours, if you would like to extend your reception, it's $60 per table (8 guests) per hour. You can indeed confirm your locations in advance. It just takes some persistence. We locked in the locations for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception over a year ago. But we had to fly to Moon Palace and meet with a wedding coordinator in order to do it. If you make phone calls, send emails, and keep at them, they will let you book your locations. Once you get in touch with someone on the property, things will begin to move along.

Here is a photo of the Tucan Terrace (below): As you can see, the Tucan Terrace is set up for a reception in the far left of the photo. Just a few steps away from the terrace is the stairway that gives you access to the beach. That ceremony setup is obviously the Tucan Beach Ceremony Location. Hope that helps

The Tucan Terrace is beach front. It is very close to the beach itself with only a small 3 foot drop down to the beach from the terrace. There are plenty of photos of it over in the Pictures of Different Areas of Moon Palace thread. I took quite a few photos of it last year when we did a site visit.

I believe the tabes are 6' (72") round. I had initially thought about buying my own tablecloths and table runners, but after calculating the cost of them, space/weight/cost to fly them, cost to have them set up, and the zero use I have for them afterward, it made more sense to just rent them from Zuniga.

I used the link on the website to book my airport transfers just last week. It's works perfectly fine. The only trick is, you need to know your confirmation number and which section of the resort you are staying in, for it to allow you to book your transfers. It does work though. I successfully booked my airport transfers using the link on the palace resorts website just a few days ago. I'm assuming the transition of dismantling the Miami offices (which is exactly what they are currently doing) is what is causing the issue of your guests not being able to book their rooms through the website link you were provided. I would get in touch with someone from the Cancun office and get it straightened out. I don't think Michelle Farinas would be of much help, she is located in the Miami offices, and I believe that department is being terminated completely.

We used Sarah Sproullie for our passport invites. She was very thorough, the invites came quickly, and they were worth the extra money to have her do them. I highly recommend her if you are interested in passport invites. If you give me a few mintues...I can take some photos of one we have left over, and I will post it here for you to see it. They are great. Almost every one of our guests called to say how amazing our invitations were. Hope this helps...Ill try to post a couple photos in a minute.

Lol. Joined today? First 2 posts are defending the palace resorts Miami office? Certainly looks like you are actually a part of the Miami office and are on here attempting to make it seem like they are better than they are. And you just happened to have a contract line stating payments must be paid in full handy to post here in your 2nd ever post? Lol. Quite suspicious. A good number of the brides on this forum, both past brides and future brides, have had real issues with the people in the Miami offices. They may speak the language better, but the information they give out to each bride varies so widely on a case by case basis and a good portion is just completely incorrect. Their information is vague and wrong. They tell you some things that turn out to be untrue once you speak to the coordinators at Moon Palace. Also, the only Credit Card fraud cases that have been discussed here are issues on the end of the Miami offices, not the Moon Palace offices. The fraudulent charges were made IN MIAMI shortly after the Miami offices took credit card info from brides. They had nothing to do with fraudulent charges in Mexico. Sorry, but the fact that you joined this forum today, and your first 2 posts are clearly overly defensive about the Miami offices are very very very suspicious. I'd be willing to wager my wedding deposit that you actually work for palace resorts in the Miami office and are here on this forum working on "spin-control". I'm not buying it. Sorry.

I flew to Moon Palace last May to do a site visit. I requested a meeting with an on-site wedding coordinator. We met with Kalena for 2 hours, toured the grounds and went over options. Afterwards we sat down in her office, and booked all our locations into her computer right then and there. She told me that if she was still working for Moon Palace when our wedding comes up, she WILL BE our coordinator. She still works there. My suggestion is to get the wedding departments phone number from the website or from this forum, and make a phone call to them. That's the only way to get much of anything done. Aside from making a trip to Moon Palace to see the resort and meet with a coordinator.

The real issue lies with the high level of incompetence displayed by every single person in the Miami offices. They really seem to be the root of most of the confusion and chaos when it comes to planning a Palace Resorts wedding. The wedding department on-site is great, and although thier pre-arrival communication is poor, they are thoroughly organized and know what they are doing. My suggestion to everyone is to completely bypass dealing with the Miami office. I have never dealt with them at all. I booked my group room block through a TA, and had nothing to do with anyone in the Miami office.
