  1. Correct. I ordered the straws from Amazon and the drink flag design from Etsy, and then printed and assembled them myself.
  2. I'm in the US in Kansas. We compared the Divine and Eternity packages as well, but the Divine didn't offer any additional people for dinner, so it wasn't worth it for us to upgrade. Kim
  3. Hi Girls, Here's a link to my full review! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/now-riviera-cancun-resort-spa-all-inclusive/reviews/5316
  4. Hi Kristen, Thanks so much! Unfortunately, the food is the only thing they are unwilling to exchange anything for! We brought our own photographer and minister and wouldn't allow us to use any of that towards food. We paid $48/per person over the incuded 25 for the dinner. OUCH! They did let us select items from the Divine menu, though. We had the beef filet and shrimp and scallops and mahi mahi. I can't remember if they charged us for the extra people for the hors d'oeuvres or not. I know they didn't charge us extra for cake or champaigne. Hope this helps! Kim
  5. Thanks so much....it really was perfect! I requested the draping and walkway. I had seen it in othe photos and knew I wanted it so I confirmed that it came with my package and it did. We got the Eternity package and it was included. For the reception, we had our tables in a straight line. We had 50 people and Ana said that the only way 50 would fit is in a straight line. I struggled w/ this a bit, but after looking at lots of photos, I realized that rectangle tables in a straight line was the better way to go instead of round tables. Now that I've seen it in person, rectangle tables really are the only way to go....it worked very well for us. No way round tables would have worked w/ our big group....especially with a dance floor. Hope that helps!
  6. Thanks! I think I was a DJ in my former life! We got the eternity package and the draping for the pergola was included! Outside the package, I think it is fairly pricey, so I made sure it was included! If you want a color other than white, I think there may be a charge. Have fun!
  7. We had our reception on the terrace and brought 30 lanterns of varying sizes. That was Ana's suggestion and seemed to work well and not look bare OR overcrowded. Kim
  8. Thanks so much! Angel (Angela) did my hair and make-up and used what they had. I did a practice session so the first time around I let her do what she thought would look nice and I loved it, so we duplicated it for the wedding day. I brought pics in of what I wanted my hair to look like and she did a great job. She asked me along the way if I was liking it, so that was good. She was very accommodating. No one brought us gifts to Mexico other than cards. We didn't buy much so we didn't really have to "declare" anything. Coming in to Mexico, the only thing that customs questioned us about were our floating candles, which I thought was weird. It's not like we had 1,000 or enough to sell! We told them what they were for and that was the extent of their questioning. Good luck and enjoy it! Kim

  12. My wedding is on November 4 and we did a seating chart.....gave Ana the chart w/ what each person ordered. We're doing the beef filet & shrimp and the scallops and mahi mahi.
  13. So pretty....looks like you had tons of fun! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to your review. I do have a couple questions, if you don't mind.... 1. Chair bows - did you bring your own? If so, do they take them from the ceremony to the reception, or did you buy enough to cover both? 2. Reception dinner....are the plates at each place setting or not? I'm trying to figure out my place setting decor. Thanks!
  14. Yay! We've got a group of 50 coming so far, and we haven't sent our invites yet! My FI and I will be at the resort through that Thursday. I think I'm bringing white chair bows, if you want them when I'm done. I'd prefer the solid white chairs, but I don't really want to pay $7/chair. I'm too cheap.
  15. Yes, I received that form, but don't remember it asking about signature drinks. I suppose I should pull that out and look at it! What day are you getting married? We're November 4 @ 4pm.
  16. We are having signature drinks, but I've not yet decided what they will be. I haven't gotten my planning form from Ana yet....when is your wedding? I'm not until November. We're not having a traditional reception....just the cocktail hour (2 hours actually) and then a plated dinner. Dancing at the dance club after, so we'll have our two signature cocktails at the cocktail hour. I'm planning on making cute menus for the cocktails and framing them. Ordered our personalized cocktail napkins yesterday.....the knot is having a big sale through today on them!
  17. I'm wondering about the menu cards she made you...I was considering bringing my own, but may not worry about it if the resort will supply them! Do you have a photo of them?
  18. Hey girls! I'm getting married at Jade on November 4 and I'm using teal/aqua too! Little bit of a peacock theme, but nothing too crazy. Question - is anyone planning to decorate w/ a version of white Christmas lights? We're having our dinner on the festival terrace and really want to use white lights, but I've not read that anyone mentioned it. Anyone know?
  19. Girls getting married in November....what time is your ceremony? Ana told me the latest they do is 4pm, but I'm seeing other girls getting married at 5 & 6pm......I'm guessing it's because of the time of year....?
  20. That's exciting! We'll stay through the following Thursday, so I'm sure we'll run into each other. We should definitely compare notes...and colors....maybe we can share some decorations!
  21. Hey girls! Thanks for the link to the pics, Erin.....absolutely beautiful! I'm getting married at Jade on November 4, 2011.....50 booked just off our save the dates! GULP! We're getting married at the Pergola at 4pm, then having our cocktail reception (2 hours) at the Blue Beach Bar. Dinner after that....I'm not planning a formal reception w/ DJ, etc. I thought we would just all hit the dance club after dinner. We're not interested in doing the first dance, dollar dance, etc., like at traditional receptions, and were hoping for to transition our dinner to the club for dancing/drinks. Does this sound like a reasonable timeline for those that have been married there? Also, one bride told me the dance club isn't open every night.....does anyone know for sure? I'd hate to count on us going there to party if it's closed. Any insight on timeline, etc. would be helpful. I had a phone conversation w/ Ana last week and it helped so much....communicating by email wasn't working for us. I'm bringing my own photographer and minister and by email she wasn't budging at all on me trading that for other services. Per our phone conversation, she's allowing us to trade it for any live music, more flowers or a DJ. We may go w/ the Caribbean trio for our cocktail reception. Happy Planning!
  22. Ha! I don't feel organized at all! How are you doing your group rate? My travel agent said we have to book 10 rooms at one time (with a $50 deposit for each person) to get the group rate. Group airfare is another issue all together! So many questions.....looking forward to my first phone call w/ Ana!
  23. Hey! I'm a Jade bride too....Nov. 4, 2011. Can't wait! We're doing the Pergola ceremony at 4pm, cocktail reception at the Orange Bar, and then a private dinner on the festival terrace. Happy planning!
