  1. So many awesome ideas!! I think this may be my first vistaprint order Thanks ladies!
  2. Hi Ladies, I just completed my first DIY project! I got the idea from and Etsy seller to have signs pointing in the direction of the ceremony cite/reception. They were all selling for about $80 and up. Well, I made two signs for less than $25 each. I got the pre-cut wood at Michaels and Hobby Lobby (of course using coupons). The rest of the supplies were all very inexpensive. The biggest cost were the stencils, which I ordered from www.thesimplestencil.com It was worth it though b/c they were so easy to use!
  3. I found some little water ball sling shots at the Dollar Tree that I think the boys will enjoy....when my FI saw them he requested that I pick up some more for he and his grown brother! They are all kids
  4. Did you order the pre-travel notes from vistaprint? Everything looks so great!
  5. Hi Alex, I just realized that there must be a St John in Antigua too! Our wedding is actually on the island of St John in the Virgin Islands. I've heard wonderful things about Antigua though, so I'm sure your wedding will be so beautiful. It sounds like you been through quite an ordeal with your dress!! I actually ordered a Pronovias gown back in November, so I'm hoping it will be in very soon. I understand changing your mind though, I've still been drooling over the Watters Lasara gown....but it's just way over my budget! Do you have a wedding coordinator? I chose my planner back in October and she has made things SO easy for us! We'll probably end up with about 30-40 guests...but only 15 or so have booked their travel arrangements already. All of our arrangements are basically in place except for choosing a bakery for the cake and a florist, which we'll be doing sometime in the spring. Best of luck- I'm sure everything will turn out great!
  6. Janelle is currently helping my plan my Aug 2011 wedding in St John and she has been fantastic. Always quick to reply and very helpful- especially with some of my more off the wall questions!
  7. Thanks Alex- I'll definitely have to look into the travel box! Are you planning to use it for your dress? Our wedding is also in August! It is Saturday the 6th, how about yours?? Our ceremony will be up on Peace Hill and then we'll have transportation to take everyone back down to Cruz Bay for the reception at Ocean Grille (in Mongoose Junction). Would love to hear your plans!
  8. I am thinking about The Beatles "I will" to walk down the isle. It was my parents unofficial wedding song (they wanted it, but the band that was hired didn't know how to play it!!), so I think they would be happy if I fit it into my wedding. Plus, it's a great song!
  9. Hi StephyD, I don't know if you are looking for something sentimental, or something more practical, but I've seen some really sweet personalized handkerchiefs on Etsy. One of my favorite sayings to have embroidered is 'Today a bride, Tomorrow a wife, Always your daughter'. This seller has a good selection: http://www.etsy.com/shop/EmbroiderybyMelissa?section_id=7655436&page=1 They always make me a little teary Good luck!
  10. Hi Ladies, I am new to the forum and getting some excellent ideas on here for my Aug 2011 St John wedding- thanks! I would love to hear of anyone's experience with bringing their gown on a plane, a little worried about that one Kim
  11. Those look like great bags- and awesome price! Did you get to pick what colors you want, or do they just send you a random assortment of colors? Thanks!
  12. This seller on etsy has some cute super affordable starfish chair decorations: http://www.etsy.com/listing/59340506/beach-wedding-chair-or-pew-decoration My mom found big sugar starfish at Michael's and has figured out how to duplicate this- she said it was really easy! Hope this helps
  13. What a great idea! Where did you get the quarters? We are getting married in St John, so I might have to steal this one
  14. WendyL77, I plan to order citronella votive candles from candles 4 less (20 candles per box): http://www.candles4less.com/candles/Yellow-Citronella-Votive-Candle-Set-of-20 Then I am going to put them in these little holders: http://www.candles4less.com/candles/Wholesale-Glass-Holders/flower-pot-holders I plan to package the votive, holder, and matches together in a cute little bag with a ribbon. After looking at prices, I think this is the cheapest way to do it and people can also use the votive holder once the citronella candle is gone.
  15. Some of the things that we are planning to include that I haven't seen too many people give are: - small citronella candles with personalized matches in our colors (they say Thank You with our initials and date- $17.99 for 100 on the knot store) - Waterproof cameras (to take underwater pics while snorkeling). Amazon has decent prices for sets of 10+. - CD's with the wedding songs of all the married couples that are attending. This might be a bit of an undertaking, but on the label I want to include the couples name, song, and how many years they have been married. I think it will be really sweet, and everyone's condo should have a CD player Our wedding will be down in St John and sometimes it is buggy, so we thought it would be nice for everyone to have citronella candles for their patio. As far as the cameras, everyone has digital cameras but we thought it is nice to have a camera that you can jump off the boat with and take snorkeling. I wished I had mine on our last trip when we spotted a group of three sea turtles!!! Hope this helps, I would love to hear some special ideas too!
  16. I've had the same issue using both Internet Explorer and Moxilla. I tried to post on the Newbies board- trying to find other brides planning a St John wedding! Thanks, Kim
