Have you tried Sunset at the Palms Negril? It's a small all-inclusive resort on Bloody Bay, at the northern end of 7-Mile Beach. It's not on the cliffs, but is more secluded because of location and is really nice resort (less expensive than Moon Dance). My fiance and I would have booked our wedding there, but the rooms are a few minutes walk across the street to the beach (the resort occupies both the beach and road side). We didn't have problems with that but our siblings with children had concerns. http://www.sunsetatthepalms.com/

My fiance and I have booked our wedding/reception at a small boutique hotel. The hotel doesn't require any deposits for the venue, ceremony or reception until day of event. Also, they have blocked about 20 rooms for our guests, without any required deposits, and only ask that we confirm rooms 30 days prior to wedding. All they asked for was a credit card (no charge) to hold the wedding date and rooms. They are a reputable hotel with great reviews on TripAdvisor and have been really wonderful to work with so far. But should I be concerned at all that the hotel doesn't require a contract? I do have lots of email correspondences with the hotel with confirmations, etc. Thanks!

My fiance and I decided to separate the decision about the wedding location from the actual hotel accommodations. We picked a hotel that we really loved for the wedding ceremony/reception and will be staying there too. We are encouraging our guests to stay with us, but we are also offering alternative affordable accommodations. It's your wedding and you should pick a location that will make you and your fiance happy.

Hello! I'm getting married on the beach at Charela Inn in Negril in March 2012. I'm so excited about the wedding and vacation/honeymoon. I was in Negril earlier this year and miss it so much!

I'm getting married at Charela Inn in Negril, Jamaica in March 2012 and just starting now on my wedding planning. I'm really grateful to have found this Best Destination Wedding site. Thanks!

If my fiance and I can afford it, we're hoping to pay and arrange for a private catamaran cruise to Half Moon Bay that includes snorkeling and picnic at private beach. We did this excursion on our last vacation and really enjoyed it. My family, in particular, have not been to Jamaica and some have some safety concerns about traveling in the country so they are unlikely to take tours outside of Negril. We really want to make this trip as enjoyable and comfortable for them.

Hi, How many months before the wedding date should I ask my guests to provide final RSVPs for my wedding in Negril? In addition to budgeting for the cost of the wedding itself, my fiance and I are planning to pay for and arrange for airport transfers from/to Montego Bay airport and a private catamaran cruise for all our guests. I would like guests to RSVP 6 months before the wedding date, but I imagine that most people don't plan vacations that far in advance? Thanks for any help!

Hi, My wedding in Negril will be next year and I've been working with a travel agent. I've only been working with this person for about a month, but not certain that he is very knowledgeable about Negril boutique and smaller hotels, and whether he'll be able to get the most competitive travel and hotel rates for my guests. Do you have suggestions for travel agencies with Negril experience and connections? Would it be inappropriate to use 2 travel agencies and compare rates? Thanks!

I also can't start a new thread under Destination Weddings in Jamaica forum. I'm using a regular laptop with Microsoft Windows 7 and Internet Explorer. When I try to "Submit" a new thread, a box comes up stating "No Data Found".
