  1. thanks mmcst38! I love hearing the positive feedback about Aruba, makes me confident that we made the right choice, as blind as it may have been, since neither one of us has ever been there. AnnCam2011, we are getting married on Aug 31, at the Westin...hopefully, waiting for the WC to get back to me with info to pay the deposit. Eeeee.....sooo excited!!
  2. thanks for the tip! they are fantastic, my FI used one when we went to Cuba, he would use it everyday, if it werent' frowned upon to bring to work.
  3. hmmm...good question..I need to get in touch with the WC....grrrrrr
  4. hahaaaa...you are soooo funny!! I think I might love you!! thanks for the tips, especially with the booze, my friends will be happy to hear that. I'm so super excited, and I have also had enough of this winter, so I feel your pain....sigh, the countdown is on, this site has been both a blessing and a curse, great for ideas, but introduced all new things that I wasn't planning on...grrrrr to those super creative ladies. Obviously, everything went well for you, no crisis..thanks again, and if you think of anything, let me know. You rock!
  5. Boo!! What a great site! We'll have to find a Canadian equivalent..
  6. butterflyaniam, thank you so much for sharing your pics! everything looks beautiful! it was nice to see some of the ideas in action. Congrats.
  7. KRama!! Those look amaaaaazing!! I truly wasn't even considering these until I saw yours! You must be thrilled! thanks for sharing.
  8. great idea ladies! I'm a geek, and I always travel with a bottle opener/cork screw...is that bad?? I never even thought that my guests may not be as wise as I am!
  9. That sounds so cute! Please post pics of the finished product!
  10. I picked up mini candles from bath and bodyworks, that were tropical scented..they're really cute.
  11. your invitations are pretty too!! and the centerpeice with the limes...really love the limes.
  12. mcmst38-your party sounds awesome! I wish I was able to find a venue like yours, it sounds perfect. Mine will be more than that only out of necessity. My dream AHR would be bbq-style, but can't find anywhere to have that. Boo.
  13. I honestly didn't think I would be able to them for the price that you said! That's crazy!! Hmm..may need to reconsider then..that's what BFF's are for, right? Cutting and stuffing.
  14. wow! you must be super excited??? I read that some were planning full day excursions the day before the wedding to keep people occupied and to take the bride's mind off of the wedding, which I thought may be very useful, but I also think that some island drinks and good food can achieve the same result the day before, no?
  15. AnnCam2011, anything that you can share would be useful. We are getting married at the Westin, not AI, so places to eat? did you shop? a lot? excursions? anything to beware of? thanks.
  16. I'm not sure if the keratin hair treatment is the same as the Japanese permanent straightener, but it does take as long to do. I've been doing mine for about 3 years now, it takes pretty much a full year to grow out. I had it done last year before it fully grew out and there were parts of my hair that seemed to be over processed = frizzy = yuck. I am definitely waiting until it is all grown out this year. The amount of time I save in the morning is unbelievable, it has definitely changed my life. My hair is frizzy and course, not curly. I was able to leave the house with my hair dripping wet, and get to work and it was pin straight...perfect. But I do love the reviews of the BB, I will definitely check that out.
  17. Try Clinique All About Eyes serum and All About Eyes cream. If that fails, stick to the old remedies of cool cucumbers over your eyes.
  18. I've worked in the makeup industry for years, and I agree that every line has a prize product. do your research, and test its wearing power, some eye shadows may work for your bff, but will wear off of you quickly, or run. I do agree though, that Mac is a great place to start, and their make up artists are among the best.
  19. sad to hear about the poor result from Diorshow, my all time fave mascara, but only when the budget allows..
  20. well, ladies, haven't had such a good laugh until I read this thread!! I wasn't even worried about all of the things that were mentioned - until now!! One more thing to worry about..
  21. ok, this hasn't happened in years, but i remember going to a wedding and hearing the BIRD DANCE!! yuckkkkkk..
