  1. I've heard a few different things, but my FIL said that proper etiquette for a destination wedding is that you pay for your bridal party to travel. We haven't decided what we're going to do for sure yet. At first I was planning on just taking them to do something exciting like zip lining while we're in Jamaica, but now my FI and I don't know if we should pay for their air fair as well Who all is paying for their bridal party's airline ticket, or their stay at the resort? What exactly is proper destination wedding etiquette for this situation?
  2. That is a great idea to use excel, i'm currently working on a daunting 'to do' list. I wish i could open your attatchment! Still a noob
  3. I haven't had it yet, but I absolutley refuse to have fake flowers anywhere near my wedding. I really really want to have it on the beach as well, but i guess if it rains I don't absolutely have to haha. Did you always want to have a destination wedding, or did you decide on it after you got engaged?
  4. My FI and I want to climb the Dunn River Falls, we also definetley want to go ziplining. We want to take our bridal party to do something as a way to thank them, but we also want to do some stuff during the honeymoon part of our vacation and be alone. Which one of these do you guys thing would be a better activity for just the two of us to do and which should we include people?
  5. Hi All! User Name: LizK23 Name: Liz and Trevor Location: Iberostar Rose Hall Beach and our honeymoon will be at Couples Negril Wedding: January 19, 2012 (we just sent in a request for this day so lets hope it's still available!!!) I can't wait!!! wooo Jamaica So glad i found this forum everyone is very helpful and there is a ton of information available on here.
  6. No, maybe our last name though. Would you ever get plastic surgery?
  7. Awesome thanks! I was getting worried but there's at least 2 people, myself and my MIL, that don't eat any meat or fish so we shouldn't have a problem!
  8. P90X is a great work out plan if you're looking for something you can do at home. I did it for awhile after my daughter was born and it was so nice to get a decent workout in without leaving the house. It's hard for us moms to find time to make it to the gym!
  9. haha i did the exact same thing. Ran a 5k and lifted legs and shoulders day. It's hard not to celebrate the superbowl when I'm a die hard Packers fan and they haven't won a Superbowl since I was in grade school. But sadly football season is over time to get back into shape and lay off the beer.
  10. I love to make bruschetta. I don't really like tomatos on much but i love bruschetta, the balsalmic vinegar makes them so delicious! here's a good recipe: http://www.food.com/recipe/tomato-and-basil-bruschetta-44232 and hummus is so good, it'a a nice healthy alternative to dip or i like to put it on sandwiches as well! http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/real-hummus/Detail.aspx
  11. Absolutely and I have. haha we have thick blood in Wisconsin. Would you ever live life as an Amish person for a week?
  12. Question on the food...I've noticed whenever people discuss their menus there's never anything vegetarian. Does anyone know if they have any vegetarian options at the restaurants or if it seems like it'd be easy to put things together. My soon to be mother in law and I are both vegetarians. I have just started planning my wedding for January 2012 and I need to start making a to do list because I have a million questions and ideas running through my head!
  13. haha it's so true too. But kids are amazing and my daughter makes my life so wonderful i wouldn't trade her for all the relaxation in the world! Good luck to everyone trying to concieve!
  14. I was bad yesterday too. Made cheesecake bars for the superbowl and they were too good to not eat haha. I also took jello shots when the Packers scored! I have 11 months left to get in better shape! I don't know about anyone else on here but I definetley don't need to lose any weight I just want to re distribute some of it haha. I'm very skinny and in shape always have been thanks to a great metabolism and love of running, I have no reason to complain about how my body looks obviously i can't expect to be perfect. It's just the lack of abs and small bit of pudge i have around my stomach that drives me crazy!(had a baby 8 months ago so my stomach got zero exercise for quite awhile) I wish I could work out and lose weight only in that area and no where else. The thought of being on the beach in Jamaica in a bikini makes me really want to eliminate all pudge!
  15. I've officially decided Iberostar Rose Hall Beach it is! Now time to send in a request for the date we want! We're planning to get married January 2012. Airline tickets for that month don't come out until March so should I wait for the tickets to come out to pick a date or send in a request to the resort right away. The only reason i'm semi nervous about getting my request in right away is that it needs to be in the middle of the month. My sister is an accountant and can't get off work the 1-8 of any month and my soon to be father in law will be out of the county the last week of the month. And we were hoping to have the wedding on a thursday. I don't want to have a weekend wedding because i fear the resort will be so much busier, but i wanted to have it near the weekend so my guests can stay and party all weekend!
  16. Everything looks awesome! love your dresses and color choices. The picture of the pools and beach at Iberostar makes me so excited, that's nice you went and checked out resorts before choosing.
  17. My FI and i already have a 9 month old daughter. We're getting married January 2012 and want to start trying for our second in the spring/summer. We want our kids to be relatively close in age, plus we already have one so it's not like we'll ever truely relax again. Might as well have another!
  18. Thanks GlamDivaBride! That exactly the type of tour I was hoping to find my FI and are are for sure going to have to do that.
  19. I was kinda thinking the same thing too, that's why it's hard to choose because they are ALL so incredibly nice! I think we're going to have it at Iberostar! Now i just have to decide on a resort for the honeymoon ha! I am very glad i found the forum everyone has been very helpful and has some really awesome ideas! 20. oh my goodness I'm glad we didn't get that much snow here, your pictures cracked me up too! 3.5 feet is a crazy amount of snow, even for the midwest. I'm from Neenah, Wisconsin (about 1 1/2 hours north of Milwaukee) and my FI Trever and I are getting married January 2012 in Jamaica!!! We haven't picked the exact date yet but it'll be towards the end of the month. I'm currently having a hell of a time deciding between the Grand Palladium and Iberostar Rose Hall Suites for the wedding. It's sooooo hard to pick a resort, i don't want to make the wrong decision!!!
  21. I didn't realize spray tan came off that quick when you're swimming! And i never thought about it rubbing off on my dress yikes. I was going to do it because I dislike tanning beds and how bad they are for your health/skin. But it might have to be the tanning bed for me before my wedding, you're right there is definetly a price you have to pay for beauty!
