Also on the starfish note, has anyone heard of any issues bringing real starfish into other countries? Our wedding is in Mexico and I thought I ready on here at some point in time that it might be an issue, however I can't find that thread! Thanks!

Hi luvmoo, I'm also having a starfish themed wedding. Can you share with me some of the places that you've ordered your starfish from? I'm looking for large brown sugar starfish of about 6-8" for our gazebo and the aisle for the ceremony? I'd also love to hear where you got your edible starfish for the cake!

Hello! We are considering this idea as a gift for our guests, just wondering if other brides who have done so could share the websites that you purchased these from? We would like to find the most affordable way to do this if possible. Thanks for your input!

Hi Ladies, I'm very new to Vistaprint, and just created an account. It seems like they have great deals and that you can get a lot of freebies. I've read that some people have gotten all of their stuff almost for free. I'd like to use them for postcards and pre-travel brochures, can anyone tell me the tips and tricks to get the best value from Vistaprint? What do I need to do and look for to take advantage of it. Thanks so much for any advice you can provide!

Hey Ladies, wondering if anyone has some good suggestions about this topic. We will not be registering anywhere for our wedding for a couple of reasons, one we don't want any gifts from our guests as them traveling with us to the wedding is such a great gift to begin with. Despite this, we have still had some people who are and are not coming ask us what we want for our wedding and where we are going to register. One of the other reasons we don't want to register is that we are a well established couple and already have everything that we need for our household, etc. What would you suggest doing in these cases? If anything, we would appreciate a donation towards our family's future, however don't feel right saying so. Thanks for your input!

I need to order some clear plastic luggage tags for our wedding, and would like to order from this site. Unfortunately you can only order in groups of 100 and we only need 60-65. http://tags.idcardgroup.com/productdetails.aspx?item=1840-620 Is there anyone else in the Vancouver, Canada area that would like to go in on an order who might need 35-40 luggage tags? PM me if your interested!

Hi Ladies, just wanted to share that my mom just ordered organza chair sashes and a few table runners for my wedding from this site! They just arrived and she said the color is great, and they look good. We plan on bringing these down along with tulle for the huppa on the beach for our ceremony. They're on sale right now for $0.59 each instead of paying $3 each at the resort, and we can hopefully just sell them again on this site after the wedding! http://www.weddinglinensdirect.com/

Where did you buy these clear luggage tags from? I've been trying to find some just like them as well! If you could provide a link that would be greatly appreciated, thanks! -
Hi Ladies! We're still in the process of looking for brown flip flops for the guys to wear in our wedding party. Just wondering if anyone in this thread has seen any good places to buy any in Canada, or knows of any good websites that we should look at. We were hoping to get an end of summer deal, but I think we've now left it too late! Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

Hello, I do have a copy of the 2012 packages from our travel agent, they are just on another computer. I'll send them this week once I get on that computer, unfortunately all of the packages went up by about $400 each for 2012 over the 2011 pricing . TropicLover, Keine has the 2012 packages or if you want to send me your email address I can send you what I have.

. @Chambers2011, this is a great idea to have your dinner at Villa Marina and then do the private reception on the terrace, I really like it. What will your set up be like during the reception, do you plan on having cocktail tables and serving drinks, any food, etc? Do you mind if I ask what they are charging you for doing this type of reception, I'm assuming you will just use the dinner option that's included in your package, but haven't seen any pricing for a separate less formal reception. Does anyone know how big the Villa Marina restaurant is, or how many people it can hold? Thanks so much!

Hey Ladies! I'm wondering if anyone has decided on which package you are going with at the resort. We have 54 ppl booked so far, and I think we'll have about 60 coming by the wedding next March. We definitely want a private reception, but am finding it hard to decide on a package and what would be the most cost efficient?? Any input you may have would be appreciated!

@TropicLover, just wondering if you are planning a Symbolic or Civil Ceremony at OCT? If you're doing a Symoblic, have you found anyone to do the legal stuff back in Vancouver? We're planning a Symbolic and then to do the legal portion when we get home after Mexico. I want the first time we say our vows to be in front of all of our family and friends. Thanks!

AnaS, these pictures are great! Are these pictures of the lobby terrace? Did you happen to take any pictures of the beach location for a ceremony? Also, do you remember or know what the name of the lounge area is that you included a picture of. I'm so happy to hear that there is somewhere to stay up late, as that was my one concern with what I've heard about the lack of nightlife at this resort. I'd love to book our welcome reception there! Thanks!

This is so great, thanks for the link, I just checked it out! I hadn't even thought of it being an issue shipping starfish from the US! I would have never thought that Winners would have starfish as well!

Hello Fellow Canadians! I've been reading through this thread, and have found some great tips already, thanks! I'm in the middle of planning our wedding at Ocean Coral and Turquesa in the Myan Riveria on March 22, 2012. I'm wondering if anyone has come across any good places in Canada to buy starfish? I've looked at Michael's, they do have a bag of various sized starfish, however I'm looking for bigger ones to use to decorate the huppa/arch on the beach with. Or, have you found any good online sites to order starfish from? Thanks for any input you may have!

Hey Tropiclover, we're working with Keine Dennis at Blue Petal, I'm guessing you might be too as she mentioned she had another bride going to OCT. Small world!! Did you end up getting good rates out of Vancouver for your guests? We're stuck going during Spring Break next year as my fiance is a teacher, so it was a little higher than we wanted. Talk soon!
-
Hello, I'm curious to hear what TA you're using, ours has been great as well! We've been using Blue Petal Destination Weddings, you? Ana has been great to hear from down there as well, I've been impressed so far. I'm so glad to have our guests booked, feels much better to not have to worry about who is and isn't coming, etc. I think we'll have a few people who decide to book closer to next March, some just couldn't commit so far in advance. We'll be doing our ceremony on the beach, have always wanted to get married on the beach! And one of the terraces for a private reception as well. We've got Juan Navarro booked for our photos, I tried for Sascha Gluck, but was unfortunately booked. Juan has great pricing as well, so keeping my fingers priced! We're in the middle of coming up with an idea for favors as well, I'd like something unique and that our guests will use again! I can't even remember what the favors have been for all the weddings I've been to over the years, lol! I'm not overly picky on the flowers and cake, our colors are pink and turquoise, and we'll just get whatever flowers look best! Happy Planning!

Hi Ladies, It's nice to see some action on this forum as well! We're booked at OCT for March 22, 2012, and very excited about it! We've just finished having all of our guests book with our travel agent, and have 54 people booked! Tropiclover, we'll be traveling out of Vancouver as well! Do you guys have a travel agent and your group rates yet? Look forward to chatting with you all!

Great idea, where did you order these from? I just saw them on the Bachelorette, lol. They're beautiful!
