  1. Hi Everyone! Getting ready to start my seating chart and I'm running into some difficulties. We're using the 72" rounds that fit 8 people but I'm wondering: should I group the people according to how they know each other? how many people should a guest know at the table? my mom and siblings are quarreling at the moment (and probably the rest of their lives) and I don't want to sit them together. is it weird if I sit all of our parents together with some of my FI's parent's friends? can I mix ages??? Can some tables have 6 while some have 7 or 8?? gracias!
  2. thanks Dominique. I've been looking for a videographer!
  3. I feel silly replying to my own post, but just so you guys know, I got an email today from Vista Print and they are having a huge sale! Got my business card (with our photo sharing website information), letterhead with monogram, notecards, small postcards and rubber stamp for FREE!!! Shipping was $12 but my whole order was only $22
  4. Hey Ladies, I've been using Vista Print for the past 8 months and enjoying perks like free business cards, thank you cards, sticky pads, fliers, pens, posters... and then suddenly.... they want to charge me $13.99 for 250 business cards... great deal, i know, but I was getting them for free! Anyway, anyone feel the burn? Anyone find a way to still score free goods??
  5. whoa... thanks ladies! You girls just saved me a ton of money and time! looks like another item to add to our costco list!
  6. I was so bummed when I searched for photo booths in Paradise Island and there weren't any! We're improvising and having our florist hang 3 different large ornate frames from tree branches and putting props out (boas, hats and those glass/lips/mustaches on sticks). I love the idea of having the pictures available immediately. how did your pictures turn out Steph?
  7. Hey Steph, Awesome OOT bags! Wondering where you went to find the water and snacks and how much I should expect to pay for these? You're the best btw!
  8. great venue, dominique! I love the gazebo out on the water! where will you have your ceremony?
  9. the plastic over the door shoe organizer are perfect for accessories, shoes, make up, brushes, hair products, face products, everything! it's a great way to keep the bathroom sink counter clear and clutter free. We bought our's from amazon for $7!!
  10. just got our plastic shoe holders and I can't believe I've survived this long with taking them on trips. This is going to make our lives so much easier!
  11. we're toying with a videographer as well. We went to a wedding where the couple had a same-day edit and they showed "the getting ready" at the end of the ceremony and it was beautiful... And great idea about asking an individual to take photos at the different events. We actually hired our photographer to take pictures at the rehearsal dinner. But it would be fun to have the casino night and brunch photographed. I also really like your idea about having a group snapfish/shutterfly. how did you set it up?? And one thing that we are doing that my guest love is having our photographer offer 30-minute and 1-hour photo sessions during our weekend (just friday and sunday actually, since we have her all day saturday). The guests can pay her a fee and she'll send them all the photos edited on a CD in the mail. Lots of our guests are taking advantage of the gorgeous backdrop and signing up. I'm also thinking of giving this as a gift to our siblings and wedding party. I love wedding planning! Are you kinda sad it's over??
  12. Loved it Steph!!! We have so many of the same vendors (like jose and matthew) and also have similar extras (like the junkanoo band and cigar roller). Looking through your photos gave me such good ideas- personalized matches for the cigars, brilliant!!! If you think of anything that you wish you had done, please please please feel free to let me know and congrats, you looked radiant!
  13. Mine was resort chic and when guests asked me what that meant I suggest things like linen and seersucker. The wedding is Formal, so that easy.
  14. I had a similar situation happen to me and I was just honest and said that I had to be very select about who to ask because it is going to be a small wedding and I knew it would be costly. Turns out, she took me to lunch 3 months later and "broke up" with me. Her fiancee had recently broken off their engagement (my FI and her ex have been friends for over 20 years and I met her through him), and she told me it was too hard to be a part of my happy year... BURN.
  15. I was planning on buying them the jewelry to wear for the wedding... but that's pretty traditional.
  16. Just realized what you were referring to. I'm not sure though as I had them made. I do recall a bride posting something in a different thread where she found it on a google search.
  17. amazing thread! this is probably me over packing... but... I need to have options. especially when it comes to accessories (like earrings, necklaces, hair accessories and bracelets). They're small-ish so they don't take up too much space. other items include: different deodorants (I have like 3 and alternate them daily for better results), ipad (can double as a skype phone!) and hair ties (I go through what feels like 3 a day). Thanks again!
  18. Lanajoy! Don't worry about feeling overwhelmed. It's totally normal in the beginning. Once you make a few of the "big" decisions (like the venue and date) out of the way, the rest is so much fun! And this website is really helpful. Having said that, I would still encourage you to find someone to help you especially on the wedding day! You don't want to have to be the contact person for the flowers or cake. Often times the place you book for your wedding while have someone on staff to help you out. and Welcome!
  19. Thanks Ladies! My fiancee only had one request and that was that the front look like a real passport. The cover looks textured but it's actually smooth. And I needed a little bling so we had ginger add the rhinestones. Lovepea, great date!!!!
  20. Hi Steph! So happy that everything worked out fine! We have so many of the same vendors so i'm glad to hear that they all preformed perfectly. Enjoy your honeymoon and when you get back can you also send me the prices for the cabana and aura too? Congrats! D
  21. Hi Everyone! Just wanted to share my beautiful Passport Invitations! After sending our Message in a Bottle Save the Dates, we knew we couldn't just send our the usual card stock invites. So, I found a designer on Etsy.com. We customized everything and it took about 8 weeks to finalize the invites. I think after everything (including rhinestones, envelops, rsvp's and addressing) they cost about $500 for 70 of them. The invites are light so postage was only $0.44 and the rsvp postcard was only $0.29. Here are the pictures! our guests loooooved them! If anyone is on the fence regarding the Passport Invites, don't worry! You and your guests will love them!
