I wonder if it includes an amplifier because I bet it won't sound right without it. I think he said he DJ's off of a computer and some kind of "board" that allows him to mix the songs... but he needs an amp??? I know on the website it says sound system(speakers, microphone, cd player, technician).....

Does anyone know if you can use your own DJ. One of my guests is offering to DJ so all I need to do is rent the stereo equipment. I'm trying to find out fairly quickly and I know it will take Claudia about a month to respond I offered to pay for my friends room for the DJ services but I don't want to pay for it if they won't allow it. LOL

Where are her friends or her father for that matter. Who let her get away with this dress, I blame them! LMAO

He's the new resort DJ. Cause that's the same guy they told me I would get to. I asked him if I needed to bring some songs on CDs and he said just email them 2 weeks before. I think he's gotten good reviews in some other forums.

Ha ha. I meant 10 more yeses. You know what else I had problems with I designed a Mexico postcard for the rsvps so they didn't have pre filled out envelopes and i've gotten 3 back without names on them so I have no idea who their from. Then I just read on another forum that, someone put numbers are theirs just in case the same thing happened. I wish I would have thought of that.

I love the colors too, the purple and teal look great. We sent out a little over 100 rsvps and I requested a response by today and I only have about 40 back and mostly from the people I already knew were coming. So I was hoping for more but I'm thinking I may get about 10 more years and the rest are gonna be no's

I got the same deal as well through my TA. Travel by VIP. But I set my package up in Nov. 2010 so I don't know if the deal is still being offered.

Congrats! It sounds like your wedding went well. Did you guys ask for the room upgrade or did they just offer it to you? Did it have a jacuzzi on one of the balconies?

I haven't contacted the company yet but my brother had a wedding scheduled in New Orleans the weekend of hurricane gustav and they had to cancel the wedding and e insurance company reimbursed them for their monies/deposits that the vendors wouldn't refund. The company they used was WedSafe.

Our colors are eggplant and light purple like lilac. The girls are wearing an eggplant Jim hjlem 5001 dress and the guys are wearing black and the light color purple. You know I though about the weather in the beginning but then I did some research and I thought maybe hurricane season would be over towards the end of August. I've got my fingers crossed for us. Have you though about wedding insurance just in case...i think it's going to run-around $100 but it will make me feel better, even though the hotel claimed they would refund us I just wanted to be covered if we use outside vendors and for any other incidentals.

Congrats everyone! I'm September 3rd bride at Dreams Cancun. I really haven't done much yet, I thought I was going to be a no fuss bride and go with the flow but that's slowly changing. All the little extra things I wanted are not panning out so I'm a little stressed. The WC mentioned having a tequiler someone who specializes in tequila and does a tasting and I was going to do that the night before the wedding but now she says she can't find one. So I'm on the hunt not to mention Im still looking for reasonable priced fire dancers for the ceremony. Who knew finding things so common to Mexico would be this difficult. Are any of you having a rehearsal dinner, I'm seriously considering not having one b/c I don't want to exclude people..any thoughts?

AnoTher thing I heard about OOT bags and goodies shipped or carried on you must remove the stickers that say made in china or else they will be confiscated if you have them in bulk. Claudia told me this when I visited.

I've been looking for a company to provide a fire show/fire dancers and Claudia told me it was going to be $100 to use an outside vendor. Not sure if the fee is the same for all outside vendors but that gives you an idea.

We probably should email her so they realize how many of us were looking forward to usin Juan.

I'm interested in having fire dancers at my reception does anyone know any vendors? The first quote I got was for $1500 per hr with one hr min. But I was onlynlooking for a 20-30 minute show. Any suggestions.
