  1. i was wondering a similar thing! i think i am going to use my wedding website to send a "save the date" and then invites when i get back from jamaica - since the AHR will be about 4 months later.
  2. at my resort all events have to end by 10pm. but if we are the beach having a good time, i imagine we might stay a little longer to chill once the music and bonfire stop.
  3. this is my inspiration cake, but i would love to see other designs!
  4. maggie sottero has some really nice destination dresses. i got a non destination dress though - Jenna. Nicole Miller also has lots of nice beach dresses. my first dress was HG0013
  5. i never went to a meet up before, but it sounds fun! I live in Fresno, CA. Are there other central Cali brides out there? Have you planned meet ups in the past or have plans for the future?
  6. My Jamaican destination wedding has been in the works for over a year now and everyone knows about it and hardly anyone can come. I had a bridal shower a few months ago and I can't remember who or how many, but i know i told a few people that I was NOT doing an AHR. Well now i have decided i want/need to do one because so many people cannot come who originally said they were 100% coming (story of many of us destination brides lives, right?!). My wedding is in a month and a half (April 19) and I can only have the AHR in mid August. Question is when do I inform/invite guests about this? I am thinking i will send a message to everyone from our wedding website right before i go to Jamaica to say that there will be an AHR in August, date not yet set, info to come (kinda like an STD). And when i have the details planned out and after I come back from Jamaica, then i will send out the official invites - does this sound okay? How did you go about informing/inviting people?
  7. I decided i really want to do this as elegantly and inexpensively as possible. I know i want to do a slide show of our pro pics from Jamaica. Question is how to pull this off. What did you wear? Did you ask your guests to dress up? (I am thinking no) HOW did you do a slide show your house - and was it indoor or outdoor? Did you do a cake cutting? (I plan to get a cake since i couldn't get the one I wanted in Jamaica) Did you play music? Was there dancing? What else did you do besides eat and drink?? What else can you tell me that is creative and have not thought of at all? thanks so much!!!
  8. Elbow length 2 Tier veil - 25" long x 30" long x 72" wide. color: diamond white Both tiers are lined with Swarovski crystal rhinestones. I LOVE this veil. it sparkles SO beautifully, i could not have asked for a more perfect veil. I will only wear it for one hour total - ceremony and some pictures, so its really barely used, excellent condition. paid $160 asking $60
  9. Maggie Sottero Jenna wedding dress color: diamond white size 6 street size: typically 8, sometimes 6 altered for 5"6 with one inch heels (so 5"7) hips = 38 inches waist = 29 inces bust 34-B, but with space for double cups so it was not taken in too much. 12 point bustle Paid $1160 for dress + $620 for alterations!! selling for $750!! I never knew alterations would cost so much so now i think this dress is more valuable to someone with my measurements than before it was altered!!! the alterations are already paid for, what a deal!! I will be back from my wedding on April 26th and the dress is immediately available. I can reserve it for you now if you want - PM me! i will post a picture after my dress is ready on March 28th
  10. hey everyone, here is the thread on studiosuits. it over 70 pages long, full of reviews and some pictures - my FI is in his suit on page 72!
  11. i love anything heart shaped and so i fell in love with these easily packable candle holders! and i bought lavender candles to put in them and will scatter some silk rose petals and lavender tea lights around. will post a trial pic soon.
  12. Just wondering since i decided to start one myself! its actually quite fun and it will be fun to look back on. i would love to look at destination wedding brides's blogs! here is mine if you want to check it out and even follow me! http://montegobaywedding.blogspot.com/
  13. there is some cool stuff here for anyone in the field http://sylvainroy.blogspot.com/
  14. what about Sunset at the Palms in Negril?
  15. you know what is so weird? here it seems that most of you prefer the second, pearl necklace, but i also put this on weddingbee.com and i have 100% votes for the floral necklace!! i think it is the beach factor. i personally find the pearl necklace suitable for a beach, but maybe non-destination brides don't think that way?
  16. hey everyone! I have narrowed down my jewewlry sets to these two. my dress has both crystal and pearls in the detailing you see at the waist. the first set i found a long time ago and got attached to, then tonight i just found this one. so please tell me which goes better with me and my dress! or just which one you like better, thanks!
