  1. i just realized that i never actually posted my dress in this thread!!! here is me in my Jeann!!
  2. i can't find mine either! maybe it is because we are "noobs" still? do we have to reach a certain member status before we can have a siggy?
  3. i am actually up to 17 booked including myself and FI! and FINALLY FI's parents booked! so i am pretty happy. i am pretty bummed that FI's sister cant come nor her kids who were in the wedding party. and bummed that two of my closest friends cant come. but we have no decided to do an inexpensive AHR because of all these VIPs that cant come. and i super stoked about it so overall i think things things turned out for the best. my wedding is not so small that i think its too small, but so large that i need to be worried about being stressed. and i am saving on some dinner costs for my private reception! too late to save on welcome bags as i already bought the expensive canvas bags back when i thought i might have 40 people! so now each person instead of each room is getting a bag!
  4. Hey everyone I was just adjusting my list that describes the order in which people are walking down the aisle and walking out after the ceremony. The ceremony is on the beach. I have 4 bridesmaids and 1 groomsman. I was originally going to have our parents walk down the aisle first. Now I realized since i have so little guests that with the wedding party + parents, in the audience there will only be six people! Once the parents walk and sit down, it will increase to 10. The rest of us are standing up (7 including FI and myself). So anyway, I am just wondering for people with really tiny weddings if you had both sets of parents walk down the aisle, or just had them sit in the audience from the beginning? thanks!
  5. i ordered decks of playing cards for my guests with "Montego Bay, Jamaica" written on them. like a souvenir. And I made "Best of Bob Marley CDs" for everyone. Also the bags themselves are mini canvas tote bags where I had "Jamaica" embroidered on them. the rest of my stuff is things like sunscreen, gum, granola bar, watter bottle. Oh and i got Jamaica post cards - 2 for each bag - one as a souvenir, and the other one has our names and wedding date scripted on and that's what i will use to write our welcome note. you can order post cards for really cheap on zazzle.com
  6. oh oh, there is also Eat, Pray, Love - great read!
  7. ohhh, i got SO into The Outlander when i went to Florida a couple of years ago....i could literally NOT put it down! i myself am saving the fourth and final Twilight book (Breaking Dawn) for when I go to Jamaica for my wedding/honeymoon. I am going to start it on the plane. So I definitely and highly recommend the Twilight series!m And considering that i will likely finish it before the 10 days are up, i am going to bring the third book in the Outlander series to keep me going for the rest of the trip and flight back I also agree with the previous post about Harry Potter!!!
  8. Hello. No, I booked through a travel agent. My guest had the option of booking with her or on their own. she was a great help with many other aspects of planning the wedding. I highly recommend her - Kathy Calvert from Weddings in Jamaica. [email protected] Tele: 1-800-585-9437 or 1-305-757-0735 E-Fax 1-888-761-8384 Web Site: www.weddingsinjamaica.com
  9. thanks for the belt idea. i like it! we already went ahead and ordered a bigger size. lucky the pants we bought fit one of the groomsmen, so it worked out great.
  10. Just a warning that the prices went up by $10 on all the suits except for white ones.
  11. i had a similar problem. we ordered a 32R for my FI and at first thought it was okay. I thought it looked too tight, but he said it was fine. then when he tried them on in front of my sister she said the same thing. we got a preset size in the same size he buys for all his pants. so luckily we decided to order a suit for my brother in law who is a groomman. He fit perfectly in the 32R and so i ordered 34R for my FI.
  12. Can anyone tell me approx how many feet is the aisle you walk down? i know it must vary for everyone, but i just want some ball park figures. i am about order to rose petals for the aisle and am trying to figure out how many i need to cover the aisle! thanks!
  13. so by writing LOL at the end, does that mean you were joking and agree they don't look good? (also i have zero votes for them being fine)
  14. hey all, my FI hates shopping and making clothing decisions, so he insists they are fine because he doesn't want to try them on again! i dont know if its just that the second picture is really bad. i like how he looks in the first one, but this second picture is throwing me off. i know on our wedding day he will look happier and be all shaved and cleaned up. plus i will find a better knot for his tie - i find this way looks weird. so i just a want a general opinion. should we get him a size bigger intead?
  15. someone on another website gave me the idea of hooking my laptop to my TV and showing the pictures that way, i might do that if i we can't get a projector!
  16. thanks! its not the exact cake i am getting - but i did buy that topper, only $20! you can find it online anywhere
  17. i paid for my dress myself, my mom contributed about 10% actually. i know if she could afford it she would have paid for the whole thing. but alas, i am just happy she is paying for herself to come to my wedding!
  18. i am going with Alain Hottatt for my TTD - he is charging me $250 as well. We are going to a waterfall in Ochos Rios
