@ Brenners - what a great idea! Never thought of asking! Thinking I may have to go to NY for that kind of request. @JayKay - Removing the straps completely, turn into a sweetheart neckline. The seamstress folded the straps in created a v in the back too, looks gorgeous! @ToriLynn - which pronovias are you considering?! I have found one from the 2012 collection that I really want to try as well but it's not in stores yet... Thinking a trip to NY may be required. What's amazing about this whole ordeal is that I found this dress on Newbury St in Boston at what I thought was a very reasonable price. They offered to sell me the sample - great condition and do the alterations, simple right? So I stop into this little shanty of a bridal shop, knowing they carry pronovias, VERY surprised by the way the shop looks - pure judgement call here - to find out they have the dress, will order me a new one (this is where I worked with the alterations lady directly), do the alterations there of course for $1000 CHEAPER!!!! To me it's a no brainer - order the dress but it's that what if that's stopping me! So I stopped into this little shant So I stopped into this little shanty

Does anyone have any experience with altering the neckline of their dress? I have found a pronovias dress "abaco" that is super flattering, extremely comfortable, lightweught, etc... But I want a sweetheart neckline. I have spoken with the seamstress at the shoppe, she seems very confident that she can do it, it seems like it would be easy enough, it does however make me super nervous to alter a dress like that. I feel as though this could be "it" don't really feel like looking anymore but what if? Please share experiences if you have, thoughts too please! Here's the dress...

There was not a single thing about the Caribbean Club that we didn't love... Best property on the beach by far. Because we are having such a small gathering we didn't need the services of a larger hotel like marriott or grand cayman beach suites. We wanted private, inclusive, and it offers just that. Its amazing to me that it is on the busiest beach on the island yet it feels like you have your own beach! We haven't definitely decided on Creativent, but Celebrations classic package just offers more than what we need. I have most of the vendors booked so far - working on the officient, would love to hear who you meet with I agree entirely on your statement above! I just need someone to take the reins 2 weeks before, confirm the vendors and be there on the day of for coordination. To take care of collecting the rentals so I dont have to do it. I haven't had this convo with them as of yet but I think it is completely doable. Celebrations has been fantastic thus far and still plan to use some of their services, just not all... what are your thoughts? pm me if you'd like... I heard the grand old house has excellent food - we wern't thrilled with how it looked and oestra bay was to die for as well - it was a bit too "creative" for menu selection for our families but can't wait to hear about your trip!!! When are you going? Thank you for the kind words about our photos! We had a blast with Rebecca!! She makes it very easy, we were both a bit akward at first but quickly relaxed... we now know what to expect for our wedding photos!!

I was thrilled to find out that my favorite destination wedding blog - Crystal Blue Weddings - was holding a contest for an e-session on the island. FI and I had our trip planned and the timing couldn't have been more perfect! All I had to do was share my storyboard of the vision I had for our wedding and wait... Sure enough we found out a week before we were heading down that we had won! We had already decided to do our engagment pictures down there with Rebecca Davidson, so to win the session made things just that much better! She edited our photos the night of the shoot and tried to catch us the next morning at the hotel before we left for the airport with a cd of all our images, needless to say she missed us by minutes but she forwarded on a little sample to us! We've booked her for the wedding and a TTD session the next day! I can't wait to work with her again!!

So.... what an amazing island! I have to say I've traveled the Caribbean a bit so has my FI, and we both agree this is by far the cleanest island either of us have ever been to! Everyone there is so friendly and helpful! We were fairly busy with meetings everyday except Sunday but got alot decided on and very excited for moving forward! We've completely switched things up and decided it's our wedding so... Caribbean Club it is, beachfront condos, dinner and brunch (Sunday) by Luca, flowers and rentals by celebrations, will most likely be using Creativent for the day of coordinator and our rehearsal will either be at tiki beach or ortanique. Thinking of cooking a family style dinner Thursday night - may have it catered, not sure... just need to confirm an officiant and a violinist for the ceremony. We also got our engagement pics done with Rebecca Davidson, the session we won thru crystal blue wedding studio (she blogged about it if you want to see some). Rebecca is amazing to work with! We've never done a session like this before so we were both a bit awkward at first but she made it so easy and got some great shots!! Booked her for the wedding and a TTD session the next day, can't wait!!!!! Is it May yet? @ls415 - you are going to LOVE Caribbean club! We walked down the beach our first day and hands down it is the perfect spot for our small family gathering... The food at Luca is to die for, far best meal we had on the island - Ortanique coming in second... I do have one negative comment and that is surrounding the Wharf. It is so unfortunate that it has gone down hill, "a tired owner" quoted by the locals, been there done that, etc. The location is wonderful well kept for the most part - looks far better than grand old house - but the food is not acceptable for the price. Just my opinion but wish I had asked around a bit before we sat down to eat. That was going to be our spot for our RD until we ate there, then the search was on... I'll get some pictures up eventually - trying so hard to get all loose ends from our trip wrapped up and STD's ordered so we can sit back and relax till next year!

Seeing how May 7 has passed, did you enjoy Grand Cayman?! How was your wedding? that is unless you meant May 2012??

We are looking at a guest list of 30, expecting around 20-25. Because our guest list is on the smaller side (just how we wanted it) and due to the requirements of the caribbean club to hold a ceremony there, I spoke with my FMIL, she agreed that perhaps the best way to handle the guests would be in single rooms i.e Grand Cayman Beach Suites... spoke with Marina again and she has us penciled in for May 25, 2012. Unfortunately the 26th was booked already but i'm fine with a friday wedding! Needless to say GrandCay Bride - I will definitely be looking forward to all the wonderful reviews you will have from your wedding!!!

June 24th is right around the corner though Hows everything going? smoothly I hope?! How many people are traveling down with you??
