  1. Hi ladies, Congrats to all of you on your upcoming weddings and for being so motivated to get in better shape. I have also been fairly big my entire life, the largest I got to was 217.8 back in 2009, I knew that this was completely unacceptable and something had to change. I started on weight watchers online and working out 4-6 days a week during lunch hours at my local YMCA, it took me about a year to drop a little over 50 lbs from my 5'10" frame. This is the smallest I've been since elementary school *note, I was this tall by grade 7! I have kept it off for a year now and have been slacking a bit on the workouts but have kept with my healthy eating habits (no longer on WW though- I use fatsecret.com for calorie counting). Needless to say, I am wanting to shed these last 15-20 lbs so that I look my very best at my wedding... and hopefully get to wear a bikini for the first time in my life. Since the new years I have been very motivated and have dropped 4lbs. I am wanting to be around 150 so I still have around 15 lbs to go. Need to vamp up my workouts (spinning, running and bodyblast classes generally) and I have even signed up for a mini triathlon in June for breast cancer (women only) to keep me motivated! The mini-tri is a 300m swim, 12km bike and 3.3km run. I am also toying with idea of taking up kick-boxing Good luck to all of you, keep motivated and be strong! Every time you think of eating something you shouldn't or are feeling lazy then just remind yourself how much more important it is to you to feel beautiful and healthy not only on your special day but every day.
  2. We did pretty much the same thing. We are a younger couple and got engaged in April 2010, planning on getting married in January 2012. We sent out our STD's and created a website in August 2010 to give our guests a rough estimate of how much they will need to save. We are currently working with a TA to get our requests in and to book our group rates/flights. My TA said that we have around 30 days from the estimate to get deposits in to book the spot, this seems very rushed to me but I trust she knows what she's talking about. So I am also working with my invitation girl to get all the invites made up to send out immediately once everything is booked (this will likely end up being 10-11 months beforehand as well). Everyone will be asked to rsvp on our website a week before the deposits are due so the TA can remind them of their deposits. We will send out a newsletter with travel details etc about 2 months before departure.
  3. Great, thanks! I finally got to look at your pictures, your wedding was stunning. Congratulations.
  4. Great review! Thanks for all the wonderful tips. Quick question in regards to the dancing/dj etc. Where did the dj set up for the dancing? I see you didn't pay the extra to get a dance floor - if it is cement etc then why would anyone pay extra for the dancefloor? Did you have your lanterns set up in the dancing area or everywhere? (sorry my comp wont open your photo file to check this out). Thanks again!
  5. Hi Tammy, just wondering if you had the pricing and information for 2011/2012?? I plan on getting married here in January of 2012. Thanks for all your information so far, it's very helpful
